I'm about to get into some games but I just want to say that it feels good to have you all here. With pages, actual reaction buttons, and avatars that can be seen without the aid of a magnifying glass. 😁

I tend to go physical, for my favorite movies\music. Mostly because, you just never know when they are going to pull things down. It's already happened to me quite a few times, so I make sure to have a physical copy on standby lol.

I'm a super hardcore/experienced Ace Combat fan, but Squadrons is kicking my ass.
 
Game takes place in space, so you can turn in any direction and come to a full stop.  It's not quite Descent levels of movement, but it's kinda close.  A lot of my Ace Combat muscle memory is useless and setting the controls to mimic normal flight sims wasn't ideal.  Dodging missiles in this game is pretty difficult and the AI is pretty mean on hard difficulty.  I'm using default controls on an Xbox controller atm.
 
Definitely takes some getting used to, and seems to be a good balance between the complicated X-Wing games and the arcade-like Rogue Squadron games.
 
I'll probably end up sticking with Ace Combat in the end but I'm having a good time with it.

Streaming is convenient sure, but I'll always prefer to actually have things...ideally physical versions but actual downloads are fine with me too.  Streaming as your only thing is a bad gameplan, imo...we've seen many examples at this point of things suddenly being removed for various reasons....sometimes stupid reasons too, like some soft son of a bitch figured certain scenes of a thing like Boondocks was "problematic" in the modern era.  That concept still disgusts  me each time I think about it....even though I'm "safe" on that particular show because I have access to the dvd set of season 1 at least.  When you actually have the discs or files in your collection, the companies can't do anything about it.
 
I've had all my collection of music saved either in CDs from that "old era" or mp3s or other digital files.... no worries for anything being "de-listed" or censored, or that I can't get online at the moment, etc... I have access to it all the time, perfectly uninterrupted.  
 
my usual example---I still like watching my vampire shows like The Originals or True Blood on streaming services...but I also have those shows on blu-ray and dvd.  So if they ever get removed for whatever reason, I still have them.  I was just thinking the other day how it's possible that Vampire Diaries would either be significantly changed or just removed altogether due to certain situations that might be seen as "problematic" today or in the near future. (e.g.--Damon Salvatore being a soldier in the Confederate army, or that time in season 1 where he compelled Caroline to be his sexual plaything for a while)  Too bad for them I already own a copy of the show in its original form.

I have full control.  The forum isn't being hosted through a service -- I am running it myself on my own virtual server.
 
The theme has been heavily customized and there's a major software/theme update coming this week.  Gotta make sure the new theme works nicely with the new software version.
 
I don't have any problem with you guys running events -- I might even add a calendar module to the site to keep track of them. Keeping track of who can/can't update it might get messy though, so we'll see.
 
Someone has already asked me for custom badges for tournament winners.  I'll look into it later.  Got too much on my plate atm with this unexpected influx of new people.
