Ceelows (some Sakura player) has a video series on how to rank up and it seems pretty good. I was looking at it and he basically mirrors what some of you are saying (that you can get gold with good AAs, defence, punishes, and not need good points setups or optimal combos - he even thinks you don’t need to use VTs, just V-Reversals if you’re getting pressured too much).
 
seems helpful, but I’ll likely take his tips but still allow for oki and VTs. I don’t need very optimal combos though, or even punishes I gather. Just some basic stuff to get damage when the window is open... I tried some of it last night and did notice that I was paying more attention to my opponent’s block strings, which is nice

This is just my personal opinion but I absolutely hate anything random when it comes to FGs. To me that’s synonymous with being unreliable but also “balance” by taking away agency from the player(s). 
 
Others will disagree but I find that shit annoying and unfun. One of the reasons I play fighting games is because there is basically no randomness involved.

Actually, you know when you win one match and everything seems okay, but the opponent is gone by the time you hit the rematch screen? I suspect it was a RQ attempt that was too late... These guys suck so much, they can’t even RQ properly.

There were more than a few situations where I could have outright killed the target a lot earlier. Because, I keep sitting on a fuck load of meter for no particular reason. 
At the time of the recording process, I was also not aware of Rose's EX Sexy Spiral and its strike/projectile invincibility. 
 
Anyone who likes Cammy or is curious about Rose, grab some popcorn and the critique glasses. 
 

I don't know about Alex, but I can definitely picture Ed peeking out of a bedroom closet with his creepy half smile while someone does the dirty bull to Falke on the bed.  I'm pretty sure that's canon.

Good point, forgot about the PS4 route. That is a practiced hand at it. They may or may not drop a combo here or there, but they have a 100% quit rate.

That guy was primed and ready to DC. He must have it mapped to a button on his pad/stick.
 
I think I'm going to try to set up the PC version of SFV again, maybe this weekend. If I can get it running not-underwater (which I really should be able to with the horsepower I'm throwing at it) it'd be fun enough to have around.
