    We're already at the stage where we're missing SFV because it was more solid and footsie-based, while VI is scrubby and random?
     
    Back in my day there were no scrubby Drive Impacts and Drive Rushes. Through well-thought and calculated footsies I could land a precise Crush Counter (best mechanic in the game, that worked especially good in conjunction with the priority system) and punish my foolish opponent for playing random, and then finish him off with a skillful V-Trigger cancel into combo. Now these '23ers are out there throwing random Drive Rushes for plus frames and fraudulent Drive Impact to skip footsies, and it's just not the same. 😔

    Got my first 20 and 30 streak today. I'd always get close to 20, but would lose around 18 or 19.
     
    Not sure how I jumped to 30.
     
    I doubt I'll ever match my SFV streak of 86 straight wins. I also somehow won 99 of my last 100 matches during that run. That was insanely difficult. 
     
    Ran into Jebailey's Blanka and Art's Sim earlier (before the streak) as well. 
     
    Might jump on World Tour now.

    A lot of people never really consider the interactions of mechanics on the game when suggesting changes (which most of the time are quite idiotic).
    They see stuff in a vacuum and lack foresight.

    Saw this video today and I had no idea this was happening I don't pay enough attention to meters, but this seems like a good reason to use the shortcut instead of holding parry

    Again, I don't get the Rashid discourse. Two weeks isn't a new standard, it's been the CPT standard for years. Going back to 2016 IIRC.

    More than that, I think that can be seen as that at times, what people consider to be right on paper doesn't have the full picture and needs to be re evaluated.
    After all, we are at the start of the life of the game, and we don't have the full picture, so we are going with assumptions of what we have info at the time, and this can be incomplete.
     
    What we assume on paper is not set in stone and can be reevaluated and adjusted with new info based on matchup experience.
     
    In fact, something that I don't like about how tiers are done now days is that is based of assumptions rather than on matchup charts like back in the day.
    We used to go with hard fact results charts to create our tier lists, but now we are based more on observations that at times can be very subjective based on perceived weakness of the characters in a consensus way.
     
    Yeah it was still a matter of interpretation, and it could be based on incomplete data, so there could be flikes, but it was more reliable than going with just a consensus based of what a few players thought.

    Look at that range though.  Platinum 1 is considered Ultra Silver in SFV and Platinum 5 is considered Ultra Plat.  The difference between an Ultra Silver and Ultra Plat player in V is absolutely massive, and all these players are 'Platinum' in SF6.  Kinda crazy.

    My situational awareness has improved a good bit, though I still find a way to burn myself at the worst possible times. That's something I gotta get in order.
     
    Other than that, I just gotta keep playing.

    I think you may be looking for this.
     
    Hakan's hair colour was... just based on a wordplay. Basically, since turquoise etymologically comes from the French pierre turquoise, "Turkish stone", and in Japanese is even more immediately evident (トルコ Toruko = Turkey, トルコ石 toruko ishi = turquoise, literally "Turkish stone", again; トルコ人 torukojin = Turkish man) ... yes, they gave him turquoise hair... made of stone...

    It's only in a shorter sessions but I'm able to play SF6 now.

    Hey all , new here. Got tipped off to this forum from a dude on Icon Era. 
     
    I'm a terrible fighting game player but I love the genre, Street Fighter always been my favourite. Just like hearing fighting game talk so I'll probably lurk more than I post but glad to be here all the same!
     
    As I said I'm pretty bad and have mostly just been enjoying playing random select and trying to find someone who clicks. I always used Vega in 5, pissed he's not here but I'm holding out hope because IIRC in the early trailers there was a spray tag for Vega's name on one of the walls.
     
    Been eyeing Jamie but still feels like I'm waiting for my character. 
     
    Game is a ton of fun in general but I get blown up by DI a lot. I am working on getting better reaction times with it, but a part of me can't help but feel DI doesn't belong in the form it exists. At a high level maybe it's more fun to have to worry about/punish with, but at a lower skill level it just feels like you gave both sides a "now I get a free combo" button that is hard to react to.

    Today's the day my wife finally returns home from out of country. I haven't seen her in person for nearly three months.  Kids are excited, and I might get some gaming time on my PC.
     
    But which to play: Strive or SF6.   I still really like Strive and don't have a main in 6.

    edit- Capcom announcing him on July 4th now. In SF5, it was on 9/11. God I love this company.
