A bit late to the party, but I just got around to watching Odd Taxi.
 
That shit is incredible.
 
Weird first ep but it's easily one of the best anime I've seen in a while.  Highly recommend.

I was watching a video where Kroni, Fauna Mumei and Gura where talking about how they prefer not to talk with strangers like the people who deliver food, and how it very likely gives them some form of social anxiety/phobia.
 
 
Yet you see them on their streams and they seem that will be more confident when carrying themselves on social interactions, given how they seem to be able to handle performing for thousands of people, and that got me thinking;
 
That 1, no wonder many people take social media and online interaction so seriously, since is an outlet for them to interact with other people without having to deal with said social anxiety and phobia.
 
But also, that while I was like that when I was a teenager, having troubles speaking to lets say, my cab driver, but I managed to overcome it, becoming what I jokingly refer to as the most social anti social you will ever know.
Dunno if is because due the culture here in latin america, and specially in my families (mother and father sides), where due how large my family is, I was always socializing with all kind of people, since I have a looooooooooot of cousins (fraternal, 2nd degree, etc) for example, with a varied range of personalities and interests, so I learned how to deal different kind of people
I still don't mind retreating myself and don't interacting with anyone for hours, what you could say, isolate myself with my earphones and not speak to anyone, but at the same time, I am perfectly fine striking casual conversations with strangers, stablishing friendly relationships and even long lasting friendships with most people around me, talk in public to large crowds, etc,  to the point that people think i am joking/lying when I say that technically I am an introvert.
 
In my case, is not that it gives me anxiety or fear, but rather that at times it can be tiresome, since due how I navigate social interactions, I am always analyzing people, voice tone, micro expressions, body language, etc, dunno what the term is, since the closest I can think of is social engineering, but is not with the negative intentions that the term usually implies, so I am usually getting a lot of info and processing it, so at times, I just want to disconnect to have a break.
Specially because I like to keep peace around me, so I end being, the funny guy to keep an affable atmosphere around and  the one people rely on, to keep it.
 
 
Also, to me is kind of fascinating, and their story actually reminds me of an intern I had under my tutelage, she was super shy, and had problems interacting with people, and iirc, she was afraid of me at the beginning, iirc she went to a only women school, and then on college she had her friends, but they were the stereotypical introvert nerds you assume that computer science students would be (which btw, funny enough, my friends of college were the opposite the same as me, lol), so it was her interactions with people on the office make her break from that.
 
She went from being all meek, stroking her hair in fear when talking to me to speak to me like if was like her older brother (since i have never been much of having my subordinates be formal with me), joking and talking back in joking ways.
 
TDLR
 
While it is fun to see them on their streams, I will also like them to have more social interactions irl, so they could become more like their vtuber personas irl.

Also, what is the stance here about "normies", and how normie do you see yourself?, cuz thinking about it, I think I am just in the middle, extremely nerdy/geeky in my interests, but also highly sociable (but being almost 40yo, you would expect that by that time, someone will be able to handle him/herself in social interactions, lol)
