Yeah, they don't let you do that. It sucks. All I really want is gun on L1 dodge on X and interact on O. That would massively improve how the game feels to me.

I don't need a game pissing me off, this is what I'm supposed to be doing for fun. I just wish you could remap buttons in Bloodborne. I'm not a fan of the default button layout and honestly, the first couple hours are mostly me trying to get used to the controls

Playing through BB again right now and the gears are starting to turn, but the first hour to hour and a half were absolutely miserable. Honestly, I really, really don't like the control layout and wish that I could change my button mapping. I guess fromsoft thinks that sort of thing is for scrubs🤷‍♀️

I need better everything, I've not yet "got gud". Embarrassingly, I've never beating BB. I got really, really close the first time I started playing, then I moved in with my fiancé (now wife), and didn't have the set-up or time for video games for a couple months and never came back to it. Every year since then I try to replay it in October with varying results... Two years ago I got to blood starved beast before I bounced off for whatever reason, and last year I played for an hour or two before giving up. I gotta say, the load times, while still long, are considerably shorter on PS5 which has made things less frustrating. Still wish it had a resolution and FPS upgrade tho...

Yeah, the atmosphere is outstanding, the enemy design is great, but there's just a few things that seriously irk me. The mobs of enemies (while great for immersive story telling and world building) fucking suck to deal with when getting hit 3 times kills you. Especially when the musketeers and dogs start getting into the mix: you get hitstunned by a bullet from behind you or a dog coming out of nowhere, you're done for.

Restarted Bloodborne this weekend. I try to replay it every October, and remember every October how much I think Central Yharnam is a total drag. It's hands down my least favorite area in the game and I almost put the game down every year cause I find it miserable. But I pushed through, so the fun can start.

it's all good man! There is actually a good bit of debate on whether Freya and Frigg are the same God. After my wife told me to actually read something if I found it interesting, I've been deep diving. But, it's a toss up, and typically Frigg is listed at the mother of Baldur. or Baldr, or Balder. Norse and Germanic mythology is a giant mess lol

Yeah, super metroid is a bop. And honestly, you can finish it in like 8 hours, so it's not the huge commitment that Hollow Knight is. The guacamelee games are short and fun too. Edit: @Mattatsuyou could totally play through Super Metroid in the next week before Dread. And if you have Switch Online, you already own it

More like quietly weeping with disappointment. I'm not the type to get mad when people don't like something I like, but I do get bummed that they didn't have the amount of enjoyment that I got out of it. Bummer that you didn't like it, Matt. It's a masterpiece of the genre, and the best it has to offer imho.

Beat God of War last night. It's hilarious, and tragic, but mostly hilarious

Played a little bit this morning and it feels like HYPER Undernight to me. But one thing that's been messing with me is the implementation of autocombos. It does the thing I like where you utilize it inside of a more complex combo, but the thing that I keep getting hung up on is that it will automatically take you to the air if you autocombo after a launcher. Which turns into a problem because muscle memory has me jump canceling. If I jump cancel after the auto combo jump, my double jump jc gets eaten more or less and the combo falls apart. It's not a huge deal, but I don't get why they did that really... It sorta makes it easier to continue a combo in the air, but I haven't played any other fighting games that will do that for you.
