  1. So it's my fault that most video games can't tell a story well? Damn, DarkSakul just handed me a mirror and told me I'm worthless...😔 Real talk, the second video highlights how the writing and narrative structure in video games typically underutilize the interactive nature and are using the methods you would for film and TV. BUT the third video shows that you can largely use those methods, and if used well an engaging story can still be told. TLoU tells a ton of it's story in cutscenes and walk and talks. There are great moments of interactive character building and narrative that happens in TLoU, but in general, and real ability to impact your environment is taken away from the character when the game wants to tell you something. Most games don't utilize the medium and the game's mechanics, and then fall flat on their face when it comes to executing a story with film and movie techniques for writing.
  2. It makes my top 5 😬 Edit: Honestly, it wins that side of the bracket for me. The other side is STACKED tho
  3. Tread lightly, my friend. Platform fighters can be a touchy subject for some
  4. Only two more days until I get to drop 100+ hours in Melty 2. No no no, not playing Just messing around with the color edit mode. I may not win much, but GODAMMIT I'LL BE PRETTY
  5. Oh damn, they full on where like "this seems icky, we're retconning our score" I thought it was them saying this game is 9 in all categories across the board, but the optics are unforgivable, not that they actually went back and changed stuff. That's fucking dumb, and honestly, dangerous and unethical.
  6. I gave up on video game reviews about a decade ago when IGN gave skyward sword a 10/10. Subjective media reviews are a big ol waste of time across the board. At least with videogames there are reviews about the functionality of a game (thanks DF) but otherwise, I don't care what some freelancer typed up in their 300 square foot Brooklyn apartment so they could afford the $2400 a month it cost in rent to live there. I just know what I like and trust my gut. Like death loop, I'm never going to play that game cause I don't like immersive sims. I've tried, they aren't my thing. Now that Riders Republic? I'm getting it no matter what any critic says, that game looks too damn good
  7. I've been a fan of their video content in the past, but I haven't checked it out in awhile. They had some great series like Peacecraft, touch the skyrim, carboys, and most of the stuff that Brian David Gilbert put out.
  8. Had a great weekend, heard that actraiser game is a classic, glad to see old franchises getting some shine. Might pick it up, how's it looking on PS5?
  9. I tried watching it once and didn't have a great time. But to give it the benefit of the doubt, I was high and we had just watched Osmosis Jones. Now THAT'S a wild movie
  10. Finished SotN last night. I was essentially a walking wood chipper by the end. I think my final play time was somewhere around 18 hours or so. I was using the Crissaegrim and just melting everyone. Combo that with a near max level Sword Familiar and the screen would essentially clear when I entered a room. Shaft and Drac where both 10-30 second boss fights lol. It's probably insane what someone actually trying to min/max this game could do
  11. this 1000% and the same goes for Gable. They both could be NFLers eventually, but realistically, they wouldn't wanna ride the bench for 2 seasons before making a difference. Look at Stephen Neal. A guy of the same wrestling caliber (who beat Brock for a Championship BTW) and didn't really start for 2-3 years after signing a contract, which means it probably took him 5-6 years before he made real money. Brock ain't sitting poor for 5 years
  12. Yeah, that's when he won his championship. People like putting brock on TV because he looks like a leather bag full of snakes. And like Maxx said His athleticism is what carried him to a championship. People that cared about wrestling were more focused on the insanity of Cael at that time because he was truly something special. Not saying he isn't a total freak athlete tho. And honestly, the kid leans HEAVILY on his strength and speed, but unlike Brock, he can apply it better and has a higher Mat IQ like you said. I mean, he won a gold medal really only using a snapdown. I honestly don't remember him turning anyone the whole tournament.
  13. That's a little bit of a stretch. Now if Brock would of won Gold in Sydney in 2000 maybe you could put them in the same group, but he never wrestled on the international stage. Also, Brock won his title while Cael Sanderson was still in school. Brock was definitely in that shadow. Brock's a freak athlete and so is Steveson, but I don't think either of them would make it in the NFL
  14. Maaaaaan Canelo is too good. Head movement on point, made him whiff, then had the smarts to keep the strikes open handed so he doesn't hurt his hand and stall his camp or postpone the fight.
  15. Saw Shang-Chi last night. One thing keeps bugging me. First half of the movie was really cool. Made me wanna watch kung-fu hustle again
  16. Jennetty isn't already cancelled? Didn't he boast about killing a guy as a teenager cause the guy was trying to assault him? Called him a slur and all that Edit: Well I'm a ding-dong. I thought I was caught up with the thread and we've already talked about this.
  17. That luke costume looks like the second boss character in NBA Street that has 5 stars in shooting and handling, but no maxed stats and 2 stars in everything else.
