I posted this general video game thread but it certainly belongs here. Switch Up did a overall review and a performance review for Hogwarts Legacy on Switch. It seems to be a solid port.

I just realized that the VGA snubbed Hogwarts Legacy to be even nominated.
Apparently is intentional because they don't want it to win any kind of award or recognition.

It is why I checked out from buying this one.
They have been getting progressively worse with each release after MKX, in terms of monetization.
Plus, after a year we will have a full package game for just the price of the base game, so there is 0 reasons to buy it day juan, specially when after 1 or 2 months it will be on sale as well, so you will be able to get everything for cheap.

Ah, yeah I dunno. I couldn't find any nudes of Megan Fox though, after just a quick search. But I don't think I'm done searching.  Just done searching at work lol.

Didn't know all that, as I don't care for appearance stuff that much. But yeah, that's awful. And it's another reason I'm scared for the future. Who's to say WB won't spray their slime on gameplay, beyond just making it a grind to get some cosmetic trinkets? MK is one of the few series left where it's a Day 1 buy for me, and WB could fuck that all up.

Mortal Kombat 1 is pretty bad with the monetization already. Extra fatalities are $12 (they were added for free in both MKX and MK11), skins are $10, different announcers are also $10 (the Omni-Man announcer costs more than the actual character). This is all on top of the game being $70 while having less content and customization than MK11’s base game.
 
They give you the illusion that it’s earnable with Dragon Krystals (the in-game currency used to pay for premium items) being gotten through playing the game, but it’s a finite amount with all the instances to earn them are one-time uses. People are comparing the whole store to mobile games, but it’s worse since MK1 is a full priced game. I dread to think what the next MK game will be like if it’s this bad already.

I REALLY hope they don't fuck up the next Mortal Kombat with this BS. Those games take years to come out, and to wait until 2029 only to get a live-service shitfest would infuriate me to no end.

I actually shook his (Gavin) hand at work backstage for a special event he came to at Disneyland (it was our first ever PRIDE nite)...I REALLY wanted to pull away from the moment but doing so I knew I would be making a scene among him and a few managers who know me so at the cost of my own integrity, I just did it to keep my job so to speak. Gavin is trash and when I got a good look at him I got that vibe of someone who isn't genuine but what politician is?

Toys that Built America continues to be one of the best things on History channel; there was an episode on last night about the rise of Mattel and Hasbro, and the main things that catapulted them to success in the toy industry--- Barbie and G.I. Joe....that shit was fascinating, man... my only gripe with the series is that each episode is *only* an hour... it seems like stories like that could be a whole movie-length documentary.  Interesting thing that they both had some big challenges to overcome... with the unpopular issue of Vietnam war negatively impacting GI Joe at the time, and Barbie getting started because most adults at the time when they were trying to get it out there were thinking "nah, moms are NOT going to buy their daughters a doll that's a realistic grown woman."...like that seemed like a gag gift for a dude at the time.  
 
When I was growing up, by that time GI Joe had bounced back with the smaller action figures and were selling strong.... oddly enough, even though I loved the old cartoon, I didn't have a lot of those toys.  I had one of the Cobra B.A.T.s only because I found it at school one time, and another one my Dad bought me prior to that.  One of my friends at the time was spoiled and had an insane collection though; he even had that giant aircraft carrier.  A few years ago I bought a Cobra Commander since figures of the old designs have been in stores in recent years.
 
There was also an episode last night about Nintendo and Sega's entry into the videogame industry in the 80s....there's so much to that story that could probably be a whole miniseries documentary there.
