  1. One correction: Menat's story is set during ASF as it opens with the scene where Ed & Balrog (supported by Shadaloo soldiers and Santamu) are about to ambush Guile and Gief.
  2. Dhalsim took Ryu's SnH punch like it was nothing, served as an advisor for Ryu throughout early ASF chapters, and had a deep conversation with Oro about some of the greatest powers the world has known. *puts him below G-Project and S.I.N. weirdos
  3. You're smart, but let's be real, 98% of the community is not. You were able to see through the hype and realize he was but a sub-boss and that's nice, but the rest of the target audience actually expected something meaningful to come out of a character with V's glowing all over his body. And if you're right, then they should've done a better job at "deciphering" it for the masses.
  4. So you're saying everyone in the writing team was perfectly fine with Necalli the way he was and they weren't even attempting to figure out any alternative way (in spite of all the interest and excitement around the character, and them capitalizing on it with extra concepts/notes)?
  5. Clearly he meant Nec turned out to be the outlying villain in the final product. Doesn't necessarily imply he was meant to be that way all along, and the "not perfect" bit indicates that.
  6. Thing is, Nakayama himself admitted he was not a perfect villain. Clearly they had more plans, but the character didn't focus-test well and they were forced to scale back the ambitions (or they were just lazy to make a proper boss battle, rather than simply have Bison with an activated V-Trigger). It's their job to keep track of their fanbase's imagination, especially now when the management appears to be trying to be as transparent with their plans as possible.
  7. JP has me interested. I'm still recovering from how they (mis)treated Necalli and skipped over G's arc in V, but JP does seemingly bring a new flavor to the established SF boss crew. You better stay away from him, not because he's gonna destroy/enslave/absorb you. You're just wasting his time, period. I'd lose it if his win-quote to Ryu was something with sinister subtext like "Thank you for your cooperation." (in bringing down Bison and setting up the scene for me) Now I'm imagining how he and Remy (or even V Nash had he been alive) would get along.
  8. So what do we have here? I'm very glad Capcom treats SF as a truly relevant brand again, it's quite a sight to see, hope after SF6 releases we see other major titles & crazier ideas from the fighting game team come to form. It's a proper product that has a direction, and while it's not something magical everyone loves (I'm not fully on board with the artstyle myself, and we desperately need CAP-JAM to remix those classic character themes), it's actually a complete game that WORKS, has a theme and undoubtedly has decent budget put into it. Looks more professional & less amateurish. I'm loving how they allow creativity this time around with all those customizations and crazy modes & features, but as a lore fan I still feel like something is missing. World Tour is nice and all, surely there's gonna be loads of cool tidbits and references (thank you for remembering Carlos), always dreamt of exploring the SF world in-game, and Arcade Mode will likely have Rival Matches to it, however I also found the traditional cinematic story format exciting in its own right. I'm kinda hoping we get something like that with DLC once the roster gets bigger, or at least make an animation with in-game graphics similar to GG Strive. I desperately need those character interactions lol. Well, we'll see what they have to offer with the prequel comics. Long live Dee Jay 🌟 (no, I haven't forgotten about Fei Long, Eagle, 3S and Alpha chars. Let's get crazy with that Season 2 roster! And more than 4 chars, pretty please)
  9. While at it, it would be nuts to also get a 3D collection down the line that features Tech Romancer, Rival Schools, Power Stone.... and potentially SF EX, too? I had lots of fun messing with that game's single-player modes. SF6 is more of a "wait and see" thing, hope the eventual game doesn't look that grimy, but hey, at least they had the guts to finally put Ryu in a video game that's not Fortnite or Minecraft! The man even grew a beard after all these crossovers lol Gimme Sean, Dudley, Maki and Eagle
  10. Hey everyone! Been some time, missed you guys, but I'm doing great, just been busy with personal stuff as well as helping out some indie devs. Excited for the upcoming SF6 announcement, hope we get something enormous that finally moves the plot beyond what we remember from the 90s (SF3) while also properly answering some of the questions that have been killing us for the past decades lol. My thoughts on the Luke story: that was... strange for the final SFV story content. And it's not that I was expecting much, them hinting at SF6, connecting it to Q or Cap Commando would've probably been too good to be true, but at the very least I wanted to get some info on Mr. General Byron F'ing Taylor. Remember that interview with Nakayama-san where he mentioned some shit about the mystery of USAF & Byron Taylor? That led me to think something was up, like maybe Byron was some sort of a spy who didn't want anyone to find out how Nash died? And then it just turns out he was one of the people who instructed Luke lol. But this was basically a post-scriptum season so yea, can't really complain much. Also, I highly recommend you guys check this animation: The guys have devoted many years to this, so hope you enjoy it! Apparently @ShockDingowas also involved, he voiced Q here haha.
