  1. Speaking of SFV, remember Xian's rant about how weak Falke was on release like 6 years ago? https://clips.twitch.tv/KnottySuspiciousPidgeonDBstyle Time flies huh...
  2. I was talking about the PS4 version. It just looks bad graphically. The current gen build naturally runs and looks well
  3. Unpopular opinion but 6 isn't doing much better visually. I generally like the overall presentation, sound effects, the graffiti splashes when drive impact hits, and how the cutscenes transform the game during level 3/criticals, and obviously the character models have an insane amount of detail But then you look at the matches or even still screenshots and it's like a late PS3 game - poor shadowing, bland color gamut on most stages, weird lighting solution where you have both the stage sources and like a spotlight above which makes characters shiny, it's so strange to me I'm not gonna let go of the theory that releasing SF6 on PS4 caused Capcom to hold back significantly so that console can maintain 60fps - the demo alone was really rough with very visible jaggies and blurriness I predict in a few years there will be a major re-release that cuts off PS4 support, because I just don't see them sticking with it until like 2029 or whenever the next street fighter is supposed to launch. I'm assuming at least 5 years of support for 6
  4. Sega made two grave mistakes - remained stubborn in prioritising the opinion of their Japanese headquarters even in the middle of an ongoing war, and lost countless millions of dollars on useless garbage like the mega drive tower of power No wonder Moore jumped ship to Xbox almost immediately, the Dreamcast was doomed the moment 2000-2001 hit and Sony had a grip on megaton titles like FF and MGS2 while Microsoft revolutionised console FPS and brought online gaming to home systems. Meanwhile all Sega could do was hapharazdly port their original IPs from one dying platform (arcades) to another, and the billion dollar production in form of Shenmue 2 wouldn't move the needle enough, not to mention just how strong the third party relationships PS2 had were with seemingly entire industry releasing platform exclusives When GTA3 skipped Dreamcast altogether it was GGs
  5. Kinda funny how PSone was chuck full of various 3d titles but would have slowdown in a sprite based 2d fighting game of all things
  6. I always wondered how they do the skeleton effect in 3d - is it a flash quick model swap, a special texture overlay, a visual effect? Like with sprites it's obviously a different set specifically for each character
  7. It's not a UE4 or UE5 issue, it's a packaging issue. There are many unreal based games that do not require full redownloads any time a patch is out. Capcom's SFV devs were just that incompetent
  8. I said they removed the payment requirement for issuing patches. I don't know anything about bandwidth fees
  9. It's also been 15 years since the news you linked and the policies could've changed a million times over since, for better or for worse
  10. Lol a source from 2009 Also both Sony and Microsoft abolished the policy of requiring pay from developers to release patches a few years ago
  11. They're really going to wait until June for Akuma and season 2 patch to drop ffs
  12. One of the reasons why that "leak" seemed fake was the specific characters mentioned in the post I'm not saying Capcom will follow the same philosophy exactly, but they seemed to have established a very clear DLC character composition format for SFV Season 1: Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Juri, Balrog, Urien 4 dudes, 2 chicks Season 2: Akuma, Kolin, Ed, Abigail, Menat, Zeku 4 dudes, 2 chicks Season 3: Sakura, Blanka, Sagat, Cody, Falke, G 4 dudes, 2 chicks Season 4: Lucia, Poison, Honda, Seth, Twelve, Gill (technically) 4 dudes, 2 chicks Season 5: Dan, Rose, Oro, Akira, Luke 3 dudes, 2 chicks for SF6 season 1 we got majority male characters with Rashid, Aki, Ed, Akuma, so while there's no concrete confirmation of S2 as of now, it doesn't seem like their approach has shifted much, only the number of characters released (and even then it's entirely possible season 2 goes up from 4 to 6)
