What I wouldn't give to have a retro collection of mid 1980s through Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64 systems. Had I known how massively disappointing gaming would be past that, I would have kept them all. I would say Armored Core and Chaos Breaker would be honorable mentions.

Lovely band. I've only known and listened to their music for a few years.

Not to offend, but the old FGC that you missed were full self-absorbed people that were eager to show their insecurities and true colors toward you if you best them in their games, which made matters even worse from that perception of those outside of this community. They were full on messy, also, for their time. Cisco is light sauce in the try hard old guard, in contrast to them.

What I am try to say here? Lord Vega is one of the rare approachable persons that I've chatted with here that I see having as a decent heart inexchange, despite the behavior. His arrogance should be pretty damn harmless to you compared to the days of old.

Most of those morons back then, couldn't even back up their own superiority complexes. It's that aspect that made them even more gross than they were.

Drinking significantly enhances my fighting game experience. As intoxicated as I was, I've still held my own yesterday. I've noticed that it required alot more effort to interpret what makes sense of it all.

I will try anything once, of course. I hardly eat meat, at all. How sweet of you to expand my protein options.

Oh. My. Goodness. 50 up to 100 matches were vital in my development in the days of old, but I can no where near endure such this stretch such a thing anymore. I can only recall the prominent players of the FGC that I versus with, but many others have played a critical role in order for me to forward exponentially

Today, these youngsters are something else. In Fighting Ex Layer Another Dash, for example, after being slain without taking any wins from playing the first time, from original FEXL players, I'm slowly re-obtaining what I've lost as an original SFEX player that has been inactive in this series for 20 years. The community today have been so welcoming and supportive of me so far, where they wouldn't manipulate you as a stepping stone, and discard you should they have their feel of victory. I've had to deal with that in the old school era.

With the experience that I've gained so far, I've put up a more valiant effort each time, regardless of the session conclusion against more veteran FEXL players, which one of them used Allen. We've traded wins/losses, which I, just barely won the session. Allen in this game is considered at the top of the tier chart. While I don't put much stock on these matters, after holding my own against such a compliment player at a dramatically short amount of time, I still got it. ^_^

No, it is just the nature of this thread to be less than 5% discussion about Street Fighter.

Man, tell me about it. I've had the good fortune of getting some longer +R sets in recently (an hour or so) and by the end of them my brain is always kind of melted. Especially if it was playing the same person in a really long set. Super fun but I definitely don't have the mental fortitude I used to (though I think that is something you can sort of train back up).

Actually talking about SFV: in ye olde SRK days Akhos would usually be down for like 2-3 hour sessions. I was absolutely flattened by the end of those especially after dealing with his Ed/Ken/Cody pressure. Meanwhile he being in his 20s he would always lament when my old ass would tap out. 😆

I'll be migrating to more new generation consoles and fighting games this month, in order to have more people for quality entertainment and elevation. I've been having fun so far. However, I've noticed the difference in the long haul of session consistency from the much older version of me currently, than a greater form of my youth. As grueling it was to the bitter end, I appreciate it. It's nice that I can still sustain an effort like that.

You won't know, until you try. I guess I had the luxury of versing a fair amount of prominent players in the distant past for years from this genre and was just patient in making the losses become less. However, I'm far more relaxed now, having no regard of the outcome, but cherish the moment and progressing therein. The competition in this genre in more recent times is as formidable and ruthless as the days of old. I'm interested in this generation of both old and especially the young lot, since the announcement of this series has resurrected. I'm revisiting the on-going fighting games of today. The irony of it all and the reminisce return of seeing where the chips fall.

I wish you the best on your journey.

This is my first time actually playing vf against anyone other than my brother so it's been a learning experience.

Went with taka since I never got to play him since all I had was vanilla vf5.

Read a basic guide and jumped straight online started actually winning ranked up a couple times. Regardless of tier lists I don't think I have what it takes to get too much farther with him.

Ryu..erm I mean Akira and all the other smaller characters seem to give me such a hard time with him.

But it's mainly I have a tough time converting into big damage with him which is his whole thing. So it's probably just me.

Jean and Goh showed up right when I stopped playing a lot of VF. Arcades were dead. I had VF5 for 360, but I didn't snag Final Showdown until it became backward compatible on Xbox One. Of course I let my gold expire....so yeah. No online play.
