The onus is on the interviewer to ask the questions. Not the interviewee. Moreover, it's typically frowned upon when a interview full of pre-approved questions. If I'm interviewing you and you have to feed me the questions to ask you, then I need to be replaced. Someone that can do the job needs to conduct the interview. You don't get why gamers should excpect professional news outlets to do their jobs. These outlets should be held to higher standard than some random chud on Twitter/X. I don't care for any of these sites but they set the overall narrative around our hobby. We can look at the discourse around Stellar Blade as example of that. This was the case for the Hogwart's Legacy nonsense and frankly can be traced all the way back to ME3 ending drama. In additional to not going their sites or viewing their Youtube videos. We call them on their bullshit and it's clearly working because more and more of them are going under.

Which is why I think it's worse now. Kids arguing over it is one thing. Adults though.....some of these Sony and Xbox centric Youtube videos I have had the misfortune to run across make me shake my head man.

Okay now this Bayonetta worthy comparsion. They "gaming press" was attacking Bayonetta's character design. Disparaging men over it and Bayonetta's character designer, Mari Shimazaki, is a woman. They never learn. Basic research is something journalist's should do but we are talking about gaming "journalists" here. The fact that here we are a decade plus on and they haven't learned a damn thing...

Vegeta's an exihibtionist. There was that scene during the Cell Saga where everyone was watching TV waiting for Cell's announcement. Vegeta goes from having a shirt on to being shirtless from one scene to the next for no reason at all. I remember TFS making a point to highlight this DBZA. 😂

I want to say it's something that's really started happening in the last 10 to 15 years. Where people weren't simply content to not like something, they had to try to make sure everyone disliked it too. This isnt just a gaming thing. This just it's goes for society, at least US society can't speak to the world, on the whole.

Stellar Blade doesn't really play up the sexy. The game is far more like Nier Automata in presentation than Bayonetta. Which is fitting because that was the main inspiration for the game in the first place. It's a game with an attractive lead that by in large "plays it straight". The most I've seen, from an in game standpoint, is the "Olympic Gymnastics" cameraman shots of Eve when she get's pulled out of her pod by Tachy. In fact most of the "sexy" in Stellar Blade is gamers playing with the camera like they did with 2B. This is what makes the vitriolic reaction from the gaming press ridiculous. Especially from people that had a cow over Bayonetta that are pretending other wise. There are people on the internet that live to say "this you", so how they thought it wouldn't get called out is beyond me. The "professional" coverage of the game has centered on Eve's appearance. And I use the term professional loosely because it's anything but. "Professional" outlets shouldn't be launching basesless personal attacks on the developers like some low rent internet trolls. However, gaming press is low rent, so I suppose it's to be expected. The only real reason Bayonetta's been brought up so much is members of the press saying Bayonetta is okay but Eve is not. Stellar Blade, in presentaton, and gameplay has little in common with Bayonetta. The fact that gaming media keeps making this connection is just another example of how worthless they are. The comparison could be excused prior to the demo being dropped, but there is a demo. You can play the game and see that the comparison is not a good one. Then again, expecting game journalists to play the games that they cover is big ask. Side note: Yes, I shit on the gaming media a lot in this post. They deserve every bit of it.

The gaming press can't handle a female character that's attractive. They've been losing their minds about Eve's character model recently. And are also pretending that they've always loved Bayonetta and that Eve is somehow worse than Bayonetta. Setting the receipts of them being full of shit aside. Yeah the ads for Salvation made me so damn mad. That twist would have hit so well if the commercials didn't spoil it. I still think the general consensus of Salvation would be far different if they didn't spoil the major plot twist in the damn commercials.

It's a UE4 issue. It wasn't just SFV that had this problem. UE4 used module coding. You couldn't just download an updated line of code. You had to download the entire module that contained that line of code. That's why patches for UE4 games so large. You could literally have 5GB patch to address a single line of code. I don't know if UE5 is the same, so I can't speak on it.

I'd argue it's worse. The first Matrix movie is the only one I'd consider classic. The second one was okay. The third and fourth were bad and worse. The first two Terminators were classics. Sorry to quote this again but after details of what happened, those sick fucks most certainly did this on purpose. They hit the first vehicle. The survivors moved to the second vehicle radioed telling them to call it off. The they hit second vehicle the survivors went third vehicle and they hit that one. Accident my black ass. It does but UE5 is the most heavily used game engine. So, if they haven't fixed the issue, it is going to be present for the majority of games out there. Few developers use their own engines these days. Capcom has the RE Engine. There is the Decima Engine from Guerrilla games. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (Like A Dragon/Yakuza) has the Dragon Engine and...um I can't think of any others. CD Projekt RED is ditching the RED Engine for UE5. Square Enix has their own engine IIRC its used in FFXIV and FFXVI but they also use Unreal Engine. Both FFVII: Remake and FFVII Rebirth are on Unreal. There is Unity as well but after their shenanigans developers have begun to look elsewhere. TLDR: Unreal Engine is the most popular game engine used by multitudes of the developers, if they haven't resolved the issue, it's going to be a major problem. Game file sizes aren't getting any smaller.

Then Epic would need to foot that bill. The issues of having to redownload the whole game was an UE4 issue. I hope this has been addressed in UE5.

Oh I know about Netanyahu funneling money through Qatar to Hamas prior to the 2005 elections. @SonichumanThis situation in Gaza has hipped me to the fact that Israel has been doing all kinds of fucked up shit for decades and they never get called on it. Hamas, rightfully so, got crushed for October 7th. Israel skates on everything though. This current situation in Gaza is the first time I've seen them sort of called out on their BS. They are literally an apartheid state and the world at large seems fine with it.

Is this supposed to be some sort of insightful take? Because pre-orders giving people cosmetics for the main character is par for the course. Not only is it not new, it's the norm. You can unfortunately see numerous videos of them taking unarmed people out. Often people waving white flags. Seeing this type of evil live and in living color is fucking disturbing. TLDR: If any other country was doing this type of malicious and reprehensible shit, the entirety of NATO would be up in arms. Yet we, the US, just shipped them more weapons. There a difference between "giving the audience what they want" and "giving the audience what they expect". The latter is pandering. That said either of those options are better than the current modus operandi of "giving the audience the finger" and then attacking them for not liking being flipped off.

It's not as complex as that really. You basically said "give the audience what they want". Hollywood and Western Game development studios seem, especially the former, to like to antagonize their consumer base. Then when their product tanks, be completely bewildered as to why.

@iStu XI haven't had any issues with Unicorn Overlord on Switch. The load times are within reason. I use fast travel a lot during the end game and nothing has really stuck out to me. It's not like Three Houses were the loads times annoyed the hell out of me. Ironically enough, the game with load times that annoyed the most recently is Rebirth. They are fine typically but then I start using Chadley's combat simulator and I feel like I've loaded up FF7: Remake on PS4 by mistake.
