One of the best things about Skies of Arcadia, one of the main villains (trying hard not to spoil this 20 year old game here) is just the same. The hero is just pure good, full of hope - not edgy, remotely dark, anti-hero: nothing. When they come face to face, main guy just tells him "I'm here to kill you" - while smiling! - and it blew my tiny mind at the time!

The original game may give you a bit more context.
In reality, beyond the constant memes and stuff on the internet (and the dumbass compilations), Sephiroth in the OG FFVII game and as he is shown in Remake, he is an absolute menace. A character of coldblooded ruthlessness, whose origins are unnatural to say the least.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was just simply taken out. Or, given the "Hello Nurse" or "Ms. Bellum" treatment (a character is written as absent and because their design "does not work" with today's current-year identity or woke politics). That is only a theory.
I do hope that SFVI doesn't take that route.
