    They say when Manon is losing a round she can still start building her medal level for the next and have an inherent advantage in R3.
     
    To that I say: wtf? Her combos into hitgrab are so situational that you have to mess up for her to get the opportunity (DR combo, anti-air combo, Punish combo). And if you get command grabbed so many times during your "winning round" that she gets a bunch of level-ups, then that's on you. If it was Gief, you might even have lost that round instead because his SPDs do more damage than hers at that point in a match.

    Combos
     
    This section is not intended to be comprehensive, but it hopefully will be a good reference for your optimal routes and as a guide to know what’s possible. Some opening notes:
    First number in parenthesis is damage, then hit advantage if listed
    All combos ending in HG’s are +15 hard knockdowns.
    Generally b.hp routes do more damage than b.mk>mk routes
    Generally speaking, Super Art cancel rules are as follows:
    SA1 can be canceled into from normals
    SA2 from normals and OD moves
    SA3 from normals, meterless specials, and OD’s
    All combos ending in HG’s can be canceled into SA3 for extra damage
    All combos ending in SA3 are +16 hard knockdowns
    SA3 combo values are all non-CA numbers

    Author’s Note: As of this date (June 18, 2023), I consider this guide to be 85% complete. There are some things I might add in the future if I decide to continue playing the character (not set on her being my main), but as of right now I plan on taking a break to relax irl and explore the rest of the game. If there are any errors or anyone has questions or requests, don’t be afraid to chime in. But for the most part I am done with this until a major patch drops.

    I tried. I really did. Well as much as anyone can by creating a random thread on the internet.
     
    But the power of SFV Lounge is too strong. I was a fool to challenge it.
     
    I could not defeat Shen Long. I did not stand a chance.

    Yeah SFV is the wrong kind of offense.  Burst movement, neutral skip moves which are also immune to fireballs or various strikes or sometimes all 3. Oh also plus on block. Which vtc into monster damage.

    Roofie just lists her as a greatest winner cause she's got a pseudo infinite on all his favorite characters. 😂
     
    I do think Gio benefits the most(?) from the new air gatling route, though I don't know how she's gonna force anyone to jump so she can use it.
     
    Meanwhile I'm winning games with Ky's new super.  Its nutty chip damage pairs really well with his new special that throws hitboxes across the screen.  At one point I dumped a CSE + immediate SacrEdge into a Leo's block and just melted him. 
     
    (I'm really glad the recovery reduction was real and not just some hitstop foolery to make patch notes look impressive. 8f feels like double digits since startup makes up more of the total duration.) 
     
    I beat a VIP Faust today because he didn't 2S enough. Chipped him out with double DI Dire Eclat too. 🥰

    Yeah, one thing I forgot that I absolutely hated about kombat league was the “play 5 sets a day for 10 different days” and “if you don’t play in 3 days, you lose points” bull shit. I’m extremely tired today from work and forced myself to play when I was way too tired and not in a good mood. I’m just going to get this Kitana skin and leave KL alone for good (thankfully, it’s the only skin remaining that I really want)

    Yeah the latest Strive patch seems neat. Millia in particular seems zippy as all hell now. Hopefully we can line something up soon to play whatever. 🙂
     
    And yeah I hear ya about weeknights. SFV has always pissed me off regardless of when I play it. Even then some nights its not worth potentially getting wound up so having something more meditative (like you said, MvC:I or something like that) can be really good to noodle with and just relax. I remember back in ye olde days I would just fire up something like MvC2 and fuck around for hours. I'm not sure if it is modern games or modern me but I don't feel that as much. Maybe something really crunchy like Skullgirls would be fun to mess with like that?

    Finally got to play for a few hours. 😊
     
    Bigger throw tech window nerfs run-up throw. FML.  I've seen more techs in two hours than all of last month. 
     
    jS jD has same issue for me as jK jD: if I whiff, I'm doing an overhead on the ground.  Still a nice change, I just suck.
     
    Faust buffs.  Faster 5P 6P better hitbox on 2S more combos off of them -- I got hit by all of it. Combined with previous hitbox extension on 2H and I actually have trouble hitting him or controlling the match. Dude just presses buttons and I have to respect it.  Matchup feels even-ish now? (Was in Ky's favor.) 
     
    DI isn't complete trash thanks to plasma recovery buff + great chip damage. Still not the preferred super tho. 
     
    Sacred Edge (fireball super) travel speed increase makes a few CH tip-of-6H f.arc combos connect more reliably. Nice QoL.

    Sounds good! I’m down to play whenever.
     
    Also, I can play Strive as well. I had some minor issues with the game, but nothing that would stop me from booting it up to play friends. The new patch looks pretty hype as well.
     
    Finally, regarding FGs on weeknights, I realized SFV was the main one I couldn’t play. Way too stressful to me, and I can’t seem to have fun in the training mode or any other single player mode, whereas I usually can in most other FGs. I may even boot up a open-ended combo game (MVCI, MKXL, etc) and just have fun trying to make up some combos without any intention of hopping online (that night, or perhaps ever lol).

    Yeah Rooks was the first person I thought of with this patch. Hopefully Ky feels better overall but I think Strive may just not be a game where they are going to put in strong zoning projectiles (or at least not until there is a paradigm shift) which makes his design kinda funky. Hope you like Dragon Install!
     
    Unrelated, (well kinda sorta since she has a projectile) I just remembered that I never fired the game up last patch to check out the I-No changes either.

    Yeah MK11 was forever ago. I think the last time we played anything was Strive and that was near launch?
     
    Life happens. I've been in the FG cooler for a good couple of months myself. Stressful times at work and (I think you've said something to this effect before) FGs aren't a great "cool off" game so after a 9-12 hour day I just crashed on whatever else I felt like doing.
     
    5-6 sets isn't too bad for a run. One thing that kinda gets glossed over with FGs is the mental tax of playing them, especially like you said when you're really focusing on what is going on. I can immediately feel when my focus starts to drop and that is when matches also start to tank. I'm good for like an hour max anymore.
     
    So long as you're having fun, that is the important part. I still have MK11 installed on my PS4 I think so maybe we could fire that up sometime. I think I remember one Skarlet combo. 😉
