On the one hand I get this frustration, but on the other hand I hate how grabs in SFV have dogshit range. I die a little inside every time I watch my arm whiff through the other guys model.
 
Bison specifically having good through range is intentional and imo a good decision. Character has the worst (?) walk speed in the game, so he needs a better than average throw to be even able to threaten with it. 

Decided to boot up SFV for shits and gigs, ya boy won 8 straight. 
 

I’ve been messing around with kunochi again and trying to mix it up with her new VS and dive into VT1. Didn’t realize how much I missed Ibuki, messing with her in training mode trying to get my mojo back and it was like putting on an old shirt and finding it still fit. 
 
It’s a mixed bag tho. Like I said I’ve been trying to mix up my options so I’m less flowchart-y, but the things I flow chart are also really good lol. Safe on block CC that hops over lows and converts into oki. VS1 with its amazing hitbox and active frames. Optimal oki ender off of basically every hit. 300 damage AA’s with VT2. It’s hard to stop doing a lot of that stuff lol. I don’t think she’s considered top 5 anymore but a lot of times I swear this character requires no brainpower. 
 
I also find her other V-stuff hard to use. Both bomb and caltrop mixups are super potent, and some of them are so confusing that I have to watch Twitter vids multiple just to see what’s happening. For some reason I find labbing/creating mixups kind of hard outside of really basic stuff, but even when it’s handed to me in a video I still find it hard to wrap my mind around. Don’t see myself using the bomb, but caltrops stuff seems cool. I prefer VS1 but I might swap to VS2 to liven things up.

GGs man. In a game where the mixup is timing and not high-low-throw, you really toss me off beat. I think I just need to delay my stuff my about 4 frames vs you and stop dashing in, and start empty jumping. I don't think parries are useful vs you either; I don't know how to enforce mind games yet. All it's doing is negatively reinforcing events in your mind, leading to a dwindling pool of options I can use over the course of a set as you adjust to the tricks.
 
I'm not gonna comment on progress or regression in terms of 3rd Strike, but I think your diversified approach to FG philosophy has enabled you to improve your fundamentals further. Like I said, you're exploring the potential within yourself to activate the value of universal plays instead of simply adopting those plays into your game. In this way, you realize a more sustainable future for your instincts, which opens you up to adopting tactics that people keep touting as " second nature." Bullshit. But you're working well towards it. Honestly, as far as Street Fighter goes, I'd recommend abstaining from "meta-educating" videos for a while and explore all corners of the flat plateau you will ultimately reach one day. That will be the final plane in your personal exploration into what you are innately capable of, and once you fully understand and realize the information, potential and tactics that have been/are being absorbed into your subconscious, I think you'll be prepared to be a monster, because that is when you will be able to break down and add the elements missing from your game plan. With that, here are a few pointers, if you're interested:

If you want to simulate playing apex.
 
1. Grab four pillow cases
2. fill one with rocks, one with broken glass, one with bees, and one with down.
3. Have a friend randomly select one and beat you over the head with it.

Custom Variations will now be tournament legal in Ultimate! Though there may be some (only a few) moves that are outright banned in competetive-play.

inconsistent hitboxes (especially on crouching opponents) have been made more consistent across the cast

hop attacks will be immune to low attacks (like D1s), which makes these low attacks easier to deal with (even though hop attacks aren’t the fastest thing)
 
getup attacks will be a little faster, which I’m not sure if this is good. I do think wakeup options are a bit too strong. This sounds like maybe a buff to them.
 
fatal blows will have less pushback on block, making them easier to punish
 
flawless blocks will have a 6 frame window, making them easier to do (note: 3S blue parries are 7 frames)

My ex-wife was really into the Twilight series so I ended up having to sit through that whole series of movies at least twice. I was very (foolishly) dedicated to my marriage.
 
At some point they started throwing stuff in just for the men who were stuck watching those soulless things. The 3rd movie has a pretty okay fight scene at the end, and the 5th movie (the 2nd 4th movie, which was the style at the time) has an entire X-men fight inserted into it near the end as theoretical payback for how excruciating the previous movie was (nothing can make up for how godawful that movie is).

Interesting. I've been on desktop all day and at least there the submit button disabled so I couldn't multi post. Not sure what it would behave like on mobile.
 
Internet can just be finicky sometimes. At least Megashock is massively more stable than SFV.

Yeah, Avengers looked like shit. My wife heard of that game and told me I should get it (which is extremely rare) and I choke-laughed in her face

Yeah its hard for any game to sustain really consistent play for years and years. Mostly it comes down to the bones of the thing and SFV is sort of the Mr. Glass of Street Fighters.
 
Avengers doing bad isn't all that surprising. Even with the Marvel push everything I've seen for that game makes it look particularly shitty-to-mediocre.

In some ways this is one the saddest things I've read.
 
Legit a patch would be kinda nice to shake stuff up. And when they start kicking out the rest of the chars it'll do the short term shake up thing.
 
But SFV is also 4, coming up on 5 years old at this point, and its not exactly the game I'd pick to play for years and years on end. No real CPT stuff also doesn't help as those were usually good for some spark.

I would never even bother trying H.SBK combos in anything but a flawless connection. I’d have to be fighting someone in my neighborhood lol.
