The Street Fighter V Thread

Netplay fucking sucks, yes. But really, don't let anybody tell you that you can't get better online. Don't let anyone tell you that you "rely on online tactics to win."

I played one person today for 2 games. This person has been lightyears ahead of me. They took game 1 in under 90 seconds TOTAL. I won the next game. I actually fucking won 1 game.

I'm feeling real good. I'm playing the best 3S I've ever played, and I'm training less and less, and on FC less and less. My overall exposure to the game has been decreased, but research, questions, perspective and meditation have improved my game a lot.

I will doubtless lose 0-10 when they play seriously next time, but I got a fucking win and no one can take that from me. I'm improving and everyone is my witness. Keep grinding, guys and gals. It'll come with time.

Reminds me of when I play Darc. And Bea. And Zio. And Cipher. And Shahenzan. And Pertho. And Matt. And Tubb. And you. And You. And BornWinner... You get the idea.

IDK, man, I'm feeling really powerful lately. I played DBFZ for the first time in a long time. I commentate this game and I still haven't touched Gogeta. Matter of fact, the last time I played was months before Gogeta released.

It was with a friend, so there was no pressure, but I lost really, really badly in the first set. Then I won extremely handily in set 3 and 4, and then I beat our other friend that joined in midway. I am extremely out of touch with the game, but all I did was use fundamentals and the power of sight..! You should train more and ask more questions when playing so that you feel like this less and less.

@EvilCanadiani feel personally attacked.

And so should @Skortand  @AriesWarlock

Nah, keep the waifus hard to play.

A man, or woman, needs to earn his, or her, right to properly use large-breasted badass samurais and bare-footed bikers and deserves to be punished for not putting in more work into the perverted stuff they're into.

It also adds an important element of realism, since women are indeed supposed to be hard to handle, and will surely help them in real life relationships too. 🙂

@BornWinnerJust posted this in the KoF trailer. I like Yashiro and that means we are getting Shermie more than likely. Can someone hit Chris with a bus and replace him with someone else though. 👀

Edit: @AriesWarlockMan you have to warn people before you post something like that. Almost spit up my drink all over my keyboard fam.

Yashiro back means Shermie back, which means a new age of blender porn, but more importantly, Orochi back, and you know who had Orochi powers?

A ton of people, but more importantly, RUGAL.

Let's goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Also I wanna play KoF 15 more than any other fighting game right now. I think 15 is gonna wind up being something really special.

I'm the opposite. I can't wait for reviews and footage. Not interested in investing in a game that I have no information on besides what can be gleaned from visuals alone.

There's tons to glean from those visuals though

you just gotta pay attention 🧐

I have been. I want to play the game, but I can definitely wait on the buy. Footage doesn't really do a great job giving me the feel of the game, and I'm certain that people will either shift more for or against the feel when it releases. The difference is that the advertising (or lack thereof) will be coming from a non-corporate party. That is what I trust more.

Still kind of unclear on the USP of KoF 15. It looks like any other KoF, which is a good thing in my opinion.

But I don't understand why I should spend money on this over another game? SF4 advertised the FA, SFV has the V system, etc.

Am I missing something? Is there something new coming to 15? Non-rollback answers only LOL.

I don't think there will be a "gimmick" on KoF15.

Probably just Max Mode.

I don't consider USPs gimmicks. What you do with them on a character to character and player to player basis is gimmicky. Target combo to down parry with Ken is a gimmick. Parry isn't. That's just how I view it.

No, I mean gimmick in the sense of a new flashy thing that the game is going to be based on like how Ultras and VTs were.

I don't think that's happening, I think KoF15 will be more conservative.

something thats been on my mind for a while

should just dumb down the sexy characters so the people who pretend to play them can actually play them 🧐

I hold the opposite:  one will spend hours in the lab with one's waifu, but who's gonna stare at idk highly technical Abigail for hours on end?

(Unrelated and completely unsolicited video idea: online-only tier lists are the real tier lists because Covid. Smash's online is so bad they admittedly don't know how to truly rank like any of the last half dozen DLC.)

Watched @EvilCanadian's vid, well done as always, homie.

I'm gonna offer a counter point

You suggested making marketable characters (i.e. TIG OL BITTIES and BOOTYBUTT GALOR) easier to play for newcomers, and making your less marketable characters the technical ones, but it had me thinking this:

The person buying GG for baiken's boobs isn't there for the actual game anyway. Making the thirst character easier to play would most likely help with player retention, I agree, but on the other hand, if that player is going to pick up the game anyways for boobs, they'll only stick around if they actually like the game. It doesn't matter how easy Baiken is to play, they're only going to continue playing if they end up liking the game more than boobs. Otherwise, they'll just stay on twitter looking at lewd fan art.

Giving a character with unique mechanics sexy wrapping paper is a pretty ingenious method of bringing in new players with sex appeal AND stimulating seasoned FG players or existing players with interesting mechanics.

If a SF or KoF veteran player decides to pick up Strive as their first GG game, the fact that Baiken is an active defense character might be more intriguing than BOOBS which could be enough for someone who decided to make Strive their first fighting game.

Overall, baiken being a technically difficult character could boost DLC sales with this train of thought
