I figured with the game's first alpha test called Alpha Lab starting this week, it would be a good time to make an official thread for the game.

 

If you haven't already, you can sign up for the Alpha Lab. Today is the last day to sign up for this specific test, which runs from August 8th to the 19th:

Known since 2019, the untitled fighting game codenamed Project L is now officially named 2XKO.

We still don't know the full roster size and the game is set for launch in 2025. As a big fan of League of Legends I am very stoked for this one!

But from what I played the game feels really good! I'm running Illaoi Darius right now with Double Down fuse. If anyone wants to hop on tonight n train up or run matches lemme know. I'm down for w/e

I’m using yasuo/illaio I was using braum illaoi but switched because everybody was using him. 
 

The game is easy to pick up I’m ready for full release and a full roster.  Definitely liking how much freedom in how you play and what “groove/perk” you can choose for your team.

@Red Rock CandyI tried adding your Riot ID but it kept saying name not found. I dunno what I'm doing wrong.

This game feels like Skullgirls.  I don't like it.

I really like Illaoi. She reminds me of Xrd Bedman with using special moves to set up things and then activating those things for mixups/combos. 

 

I switched to Fury Fuse because I'm having a hard time getting the DHC's to connect with the Illaoi, her super 1 feels weird to connect to other supers

So much of the game feels familiar to other tag games  but there’s also some weirdness with it too in timing and just overall feel. I need to figure out a good button layout as well

I think the default layout is best.  All you need is:

 

L    M    H
S1  S2   T

 

Seems to work fine.

I ran a set today of maybe 15 games vs some random player. I only won 1. But in that session I successfully parried Darius S2, S2 AND baited a burst. 

 

I've never successfully baited a burst before. And I've been playing Guilty Gear since 2004. Yup I love this game. Honestly haven't felt this much drive to play since Blazblue and Marvel 3 now that you mention it 😊

What makes you easily turn off on a game that has air combos as primary mechanic? 

 

What game that has regular aircombo that you dislike and what was made it previous title better?

I think it's cool the 2XKO devs are willing to share insights like this. It's something Riot likes to do in general so I'm looking forward to hearing more of their retrospective on balance after the lab is over.

 

 

And personally I don't think the combo length is too bad right now. Outside of Ahri taking you from corner to corner, weirdly enough. But you can get by doing basic ass confirms since damage is pretty high in general.

Well the Alpha lab is over, and I had just discovered a new Illaoi bnb this morning. Shit sucks. 

Overall I had a great time with the game. Can't wait for the next play test, especially with all the feedback Riot has gotten .
