That’s good. Also I notice you said you suffered from depression. I’m sorry to hear that.

You sound like my American ex-Mormon friend. He suffers from permanent existential and drug dependent depression cause of his religion, which he thankfully left and has accepted life without it now. But he’s still pretty messed up, the cult left permanent mental scars for him.

I do hope things turn around for you too.

Not the case for me. I'm alive rn because of God. When I was truly fucked up I got support.

ha, so apparently Cardi has a Reebok sneaker line now...  must be quite nice to have that luxury of publicly admitting (like an idiot) to serious criminal behavior while still being famous and successful....going on to score an interview with a Presidential candidate and even new endorsement deals.

...but there's no kind of double-standards in play at all, right?  Surely it would be the same outcome for a man that admitted to drugging and robbing women right there on social media..?  Nah that would be ridiculous to suggest there's something up with that. 🤣

I'll concede that there is the example one might point to of a certain President laughing about "grab 'em by the pussy", but I'd say that's obviously an outlier.  In any other scenario ever in history the guy would've been SO done.

when I see those deep fakes,  I'm thinking some kind of cyberpunk would in twenty years that actors would be off screen face and would only serve body actors instead of doubles. Something  like the model of the face is different to the body.

maybe someday the face would be 3D like deep fakes, when 3d had became more realistic as time passed by

They did something into this with two actors different for the face and body

Which weird poster do you like more?

Wtf akuma hax or Jion Wansu ?

Hax had those goofy viper memes.

Jion just bumps old threads and puts random mk or cvs2 vids in wrong threads.

Neither, really.

Never understood Hax's "humor" or whatever the fuck he was doing, but everyone seemed to love it. I think DoctaMario said it better when he said that Hax was like some sort of shitty artist where people will pretend to get his gimmick while others were afraid to just say "WTF is this guy talking bout" in fear of being reprimanded for it.

Jion is just some dumbass who posts shit in the wrong thread, makes WWE analogies everywhere expecting people to get them, and posts amateur wrestling videos in the pro wrestling thread because "it's the same thing"

Of course, I will be missing the stress of Stuart Hayden flagging the 20 random ass posts Jion made about Olympic Wrestling in the Pro Wrestling thread. Afterwards then having to figure out how to manage a guy with clear mental issues, possible PTSD from his time deployed in Iraq and who otherwise isn't really doing anything bad in SRK. It was annoying but maybe SRK is the place where he was getting most human contact? After last week I have to rethink everything about all this online stuff.

His posts in the M:TG where equally amazing. He'd post a  7 card combo and be like "yeah, this will win games". That's akin to somebody taking a combo video to prove to you that some character is broken. 😂

well, a Green Lantern show is coming to HBOMax; the "schmoedown live" channel (K. Harloff and crew) is talking about it now...

hell yeah I'm looking forward to THAT.  The animated show from a few years ago had me hooked big time, and I was not really a GL fan before that...all I really knew about it was the character names, the concept of it and that John Stewart was the one on the Justice League cartoon.

more what ifs--- an especially awesome thing... what if there actually is a being that is like AMAZO?  I admire how insanely OP that bastard was.  You can't stop anything like that... it would take a God-level being to "erase" him from existence, basically.  He's already unstoppable after encountering the Justice League, from all the top-tier powers you get from there... imagine what else he goes on to "xcopy" when traveling around the various galaxies.

I really didn't want to drag this topic or ruin the good vibes here, but since several people reached out to me on Discord regarding me quitting Megashock and the SFV Lounge server, and the issue happened in this thread, I have to bring it up here to hopefully clarify my position and end this nonsense once and for all.

Gonna spoiler it so it doesn't take too much space tho.

2nd Spoiler is the TL;DR version. I'm fumbling badly with mobile today. 🤣

I left over the personal and religious attack @Martian did to me after this post:

This was his reply to it:

As you know, I'm evangelical. This is nothing that I have ever hidden, nor should hide.

On the other hand, while I'm more than happy to give some insight based on a religious person's perspective about things, I do not force my beliefs on anyone, nor like arguing about it because it only ends up in messy situations like this.

Sadly, this is not the first time my religion actually turns into a talking point.

The first time was quite frankly my mistake.

Pertho did a dumb religious joke, I caught feelings over it. It's one thing to dislike a joke and it's another to turn it into a discussion. I went overboard, and later we talked about it, it's all good.

Naturally, since it happened on a public thread, and pretty much everyone in it moved here, I gotta make a public apology over it.

The others didn't go as bad, including the one on my birthday thread since the person responsible apologized and it seemed to be an honest mistake.

So, considering I usually jump the gun when my religion is brought up in a disrespectful way, I decided to just back off and cool down after what happened and re-read things later.

Then I noticed the full weight of Martian's post.

Some context is needed for those who don't hang in the SFV Lounge.

@AriesWarlock does these history of metal essays frequently. Like, at least once per week.

I've never said a word about them.

When he posted that one here, I didn't downvote him or added any reactions to it. I just made a quick thoughtless joke to let him know there was a Metal thread here. As I usually do when I'm not serious,  I added a laughing emote at the end.

Now that it's established that I didn't censor Aries, let's take a look at Martian.

I had no sort of beef with him. Never did. Most of the time I treat everyone with love and respect. Especially in the SFV Lounge.

And even if I do get heated with someone, I make a point to not take things to a personal level. I may call you names, but telling someone he's an idiot isn't a personal thing.

So let's re-read Martian's post.

3.png

This dude brought up how I talk, how I'm a degenerate, and my religion into the mix. Without any provocation.

Naturally, I got jumped over it. Some posts were more malicious, some were less malicious, but I wanted to address the root of the problem. That post.

As someone who has been wrestling with depression for a long time now, I've grown to appreciate the moments where I'm genuinely happy.

The moving here was one of these. Sure, what happened to Pertho was messed up, but we managed to pull together as a community and support him. We're in a place with great leadership where our voices and opinions matter.

What was left of SRK can't even be compared to how great this place is. I was seeing people just spontaneously talk about how nice Megashock is and how there's a whole "good vibes, good times" feel to the place.

And that was cut off from me because Martian randomly decided to throw a dagger at my neck.

So now I have to say something that honestly should be common sense.

In 4/5 years in SRK, my religion only turned into a talking point twice. It's not something I bring up for jokes.

Therefore, do not bring up personal topics as points for whatever goofy argument you want to make.

This goes for everyone because this time I was in the worse end of it, but it could've been anyone else with any other topic that hits people different.

Hopefully that's the end of that. Really don't wanna drag that mess any longer.

Btw, just so I don't double post, y'all can come to Rio for the tournament. Doesn't get any cheaper than a place where your money is worth over 5 times more.

My nigga, if that is enough to make you leve a place, you need to grow a thicker skin.

I'm almost 99.99999999% certain that 4chan using early deepfake technology for porn accelerated the technology by at least 30 years.

And you are not wrong, porn has been one of the facilitators for the growth of multiple technologies, like streaming and the like.

Some of the pioneers on image ais have been doing much of their work in the realm of pornography and hentai.

Like the dude that made an ai that decensors hentai 😂

Had somebody on FB cosigning a tweet saying that Britney Spear's Toxic is better than the whole of The Beatles catalogue.

These are people...who claim to be musicians in bands and stuff...saying this..

🤦‍♂️

I know some people like that.

My understanding  behind that hottake is how Toxic was some revolutionary shit apparently.

No, I'm 100% sure there are people who think the whole of the beatles catalog is trash. You don't like The Beatles, that's fine. Stuff you don't like is fine by me. But you aren't really operating on any type of sensible level when you think toxic is better than Yesterday, Hey Jude, Eleanor Rigby etc.

Similar to the Metallica stuff. There's a reason their music had the impact they had. Metallica wasn't bad when Cliff Burton was a part of it. Think a good chunk of the Metallica hate is from people who heard the other bands of the era also doing great music who didn't get mainstream appeal.

Music is weird like that though.

C'mon man that was obvious bait.

And this is coming from someone who doesn't know shit about the beatles.

You would be surprised how many people really believe that Toxic was some revolutionary shit.

My sister for example.

Though she wouldnt go to the extent that is better than cataolgue of the beatles, she assure me and my brother that Toxic is on the league of something like Thriller 😂

I think it has to do with the string lines in it. Not exactly revolutionary when you had hundreds of R&B songs that had full orchestration. Hell Plastic Love (although unfortunately syntheize) has way more developed string parts.

them young kids are weird.

I used to check in on a music forum from time to time so I'm used to those hot takes. The hard part is figuring out who really means it and who is trolling.

In my case, my problem with metalica is that many, many people oversell how good they are.

There is a distinction between them having a great impact.

That is undeniable, but pretending that that is equal to them writing great music is another kind of bullshit.

The majority of their catalogue ranged between mediocre to good.

Yet you have some dumbasses thinking they were the pinnacle of metal.

Pitbull, Baby Rasta, etc have also had a great impact, and i know very well that you wouldnt be saying that they are some sort of musica savants or some shit, like some people try to say that Metallica are.

It's been a minute since I listened to their original 4 albums, but I'm not gonna pretend that Master of Puppets as an album isn't amazing; similarly with Ride the Lighting (which is arguably better) and And Justice For All...

Those three are great metal albums full of great music. I may not be a fan of Orion, but it doesn't mean its bad.

Regueton con guitarras bebe, que parte no entendes papa? 😂

oh yeah and this reminds me---one of the most bizarre, "out there" opinions I've ever heard off of youtube....

I won't soon forget it either... this guy Josh Macuga once said he thought Taylor Swift was better than Prince.  This was back on "Collider Live".  There's wild opinions and then there's something like that.  Holy shit, man...I don't think he was joking or "trolling" either.  It seemed like he genuinely had this opinion. 🤣
