Meh. I wouldn't say ruin it if indeed there wasn't supposed to be any political discussion. It's a little suspicious that the discussion ended after Orange man's win though, but no worries. A win is a win. God knows there will be several other places to watch the Salt flow.

As far as crinkle cut fries, None can stand against them. None with the possible exception of the waffle fries and those have to be done right.

Crinkle cut fries are really only good when they're nice and crisp. Sadly, too many places mess this up and they just disappoint.

An air fryer at 375 degrees for 6 minutes has saved more fries than I can count. I can't speak for waffle fries because those don't make it outside of the car.

Waffle fries are indeed top tier. Their particular shape allows them to be cooked to the proper crispness more easily, plus most places have them seasoned beyond just "add salt" which helps a lot.

My main point is, for fries, their crispiness level is the biggest factor to their quality.
