I loved the shit out of Star Allies. Modern Kirby has always been babies first platform. You can take that as good or bad. The game is very fun and charming but outside of a few boss bottles it’s very very easy. 
 

I think you and her would have a blast playing with your grandkids.

Gamestop has a buy 5 for 50% off on used games ($20 or under), so I got some Switch games for the OLED I have coming. Games I got

 

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition - been wanting to get back into Digimon for a while and I've read good things about this game.

 

The Outer Worlds - I know this is probably the worst version to play this game, but I was interested to see how it'd play.

 

South Park: The Fractured But Whole - This order might get canceled since it had a slash on "new" and "preowned", but it let me add it to my cart so I'll see. Either way I enjoyed the first South Park RPG so I'll probably like this one too.

 

Mega Man 11 - I like Mega Man, but haven't played this one yet.

 

Sushi Striker - Is this an official Nintendo game? I know they've talked about in a direct before, but they really didn't do much advertising on it from what I remembered.

 

All those for like $40. I'll await for them in the mail to see if they are complete or not (not a huge issue for me, but it would be nice).

I’ve never played Outer Worlds but I’ve heard nothing but good things. I’d love to try it eventually. I don’t know about the quality of the switch port but I remember shortly after it’s launch a lot of the patches were stability/frame rate related.

I don’t believe it’s an official Nintendo first party. It was discussed a lot in the first few directs post Switch launch. It was a dual release with a 3DS port as well. I worked at Walmart at the time and remember both versions were quickly clearanced out. So take that how you will

So I just started Ni No Kuni II on my Switch OLED (GORGEOUS!) and I had never played it on PS4 (despite owning it) so I’m laughing my ass off right now. Cause Dead ass I play as an isekai’ed president of the United States 

 

Ain’t this a bitch. I’m so excited to play this now. 🤣 This is going to be the best $6 I ever spent

Just picked up Streets Of Rage 4 $10 off in the eShop if anyone's been eyeing it

^oh yeah, Streets 4 is awesome fun... especially with the update/DLC that hit some months ago... it added the little option of a few alternate colors for each character, a Survival mode, and extra playable characters, and even some new moves(!).  It's one of my favorite beatemups of all time, easily.  The only nitpick I really have about it is that not all the characters can run or dash... so when you play a character that *can't* do that, the pace of action and combat seems slow in comparison... so I tend to stick to anyone that has the fast movement abilities, like Adam.

 

I only have the DLC on the XB1 version... I intend to get it on Switch as well though.

Strange; I thought it did have online co-op...?  At least on XB1 version, I remember playing Streets of Rage 4 online with a friend.  

 

I also love that they gave players the option to use the classic themes... but I like some of the new tracks as well, so I'm back and forth between the old and new music.

I started running through my backlog and booted up Jamestown+ tonight. I think I played it once back when I first bought it but I was drunk af (yet somehow still managed to get by the first stage.)  I love when shooters mix historical fiction with the space vibe and this game does that really well and is really fun to boot.

Anyway---Curse of the Dead Gods--- finally, I beat the "Storm Witch", whatever the name is...and I just barely got by with no health remaining.  Of the first floor bosses, that's the hardest fight, imo....I beat the other 2 a long time ago.

8 is nice, but there are too many dump stats on it. Deluxe was kind of a horrible balance patch too. Not feeling the track selection either, it kinda feels like you don't have many tracks with sharp turns where handling would really make a difference outside of Neo Bowser City.

 

Also, they gutted Bike's inside drift to the point they're not even viable and most importantly...

Honestly I think Mario Kart as the dreaded “live service game” would be one of the best things ever for the game. People would constantly throw cash at Nintendo for a constant stream of content like new racers, cups, vehicles, mechanics, etc. 

 

I mean, it’s basically what they’re “doing” with the Mario Kart for mobile but it’s unfortunately through extremely aggressive and gross MTX

Alright, I know it’s not a switch game but I figure here is probably better for a 3DS game than the general thread. In any case, started playing Radiant Historia. Love it. Such a great RPG and I love the interplay between different timelines and it’s use of time travel. I’m going to miss the 3DS once its eshop eventually closes. I might stock up on some Atlus games while there’s a sale on the 3DS games. 
 

Any recommendations on the best Shin Megami games on the 3DS?

SMTIV and Apocolypse, as well as SMT Strange Journey, tho the Redux version is easier to find. 

 

I also hear really good things about Persona Q2 Labyrinth if you like those dungeon crawler type games. I haven't played that one.

As mentioned both SMT IV games are very good and the Strange Journey remake is a classic . My personal favorites are the Devil Survivor remakes, basically Persona meets Strategy JRPG battles and SMT branching paths based on your actions and who you team up with or save. They were originally DS games but they added additional story and gameplay elements.

Since there’s nothing else in the switch eShop I want I may get those SMT games that are on sale on the 3DS. You can get all of them for right around $50 (persona Q’s not included). I have about $40 in my account when you include my coins so I wouldn’t really be “spending” much.
