I think something is up with my physical copy of Splatoon 3. Lately, 9/10 times whenever I try to get into some Salmon Run or Turf War matches, I get the software error and the game crashes. No other physical Switch game has closed down on me this frequently. I've tried various troubleshooting methods to remedy this, but no luck. I'm amazed I was able to get into two Splatfest Turf War matches last night.

loved the triforce revamp of the tricolor map. hopefully we'll see more like this in the future!

I picked team Power to pair up with my nephew. We have had some fun matches but it seems to be the popular choice which means being paired with some less then satisfying players with most random match ups.

 

Especially on the tri color maps. My word the folks I get there most of the matches have been disappointing.

@Darc_RequiemWhat do you think of the game? I played it a bit yesterday before the Suns-Wizards "trade" news broke out. Only got through Ch. 1.

 

The Fawn Brigade projects to be asstastic. Vander looks sick, but he also looks so much like a pure bred Jeigan that I'm afraid he'll die in a cutscene mid-game. Clamme has fucking 10% Magic growth. Flamme is almost untrainable because she's out there doing the grand total of 1 x2 damage on most units while also being squishy as hell. I haven't seen such a fine crop of busts since I last looked at the Orlando Magic roster.

 

Game looks good tho. I heard the story is wack but the gameplay is good. So far, it kinda looks the part. Especially the story being trash. Good grief.

@VoltEngage to me is a 6.5/10 game to me. I've tried to dig into but I just doesn't have the same pull for me. I should have 1000 hours in this game by now. 

 

Pros:

• Improved Graphics (Separate from Artstyle)
• Improved Load Times
• Good gameplay system
• Four Hounds theme music is a banger

Cons:

• Meh Story
• Hit or Miss art style. (Some characters look fine, other's i.e. Female Alear, don't)
• Boring hub world. (The Somniel quickly becomes a chore)
• Poor Replay factor (Weak single path story with that lacks paired endings)

One of the Three Houses story paths on it's own has more replayability than Engage. At least you can vary things with your character bonds. The world in Engage just seems shallow overall. I mean Lythos is a country that seemingly has 5 residents. Lumera, Vander, Clanne, Flamme, and Alear. Typically the settings in Fire Emblem games seemed lived in. Elyos is the least interesting setting I've ever experienced in a Fire Emblem game. I beat the game and it was meh. There virtually is no difference in finishing it with Male or Female Alear.

 

Edit: Also, there is arguably some Lannister type stuff going on with

one of the DLC characters. Nel from the DLC was in love with the Alear of her universe. Nel is a daughter of Sombron. Alear is the son/daughter of Sombron. I mean technically if your Alear romances her they aren't related since their different universes but it's still seems wrong. It would be a like a parallel universe version of Sue Storm hooking up with another realities Johnny Storm 🤢

I guess I'm not going to strain my processor until I get to upgrade it and play PoR instead. Last time I gave it a shot the early-game was too much of a slow burn and I got bored. 🫠

I mean it is crazy but we all know what they say about Father Time. I am grateful for the years he helped mold so many Nintendo greats including my boy Luigi and that grifter Wario. 

 

His 'Wahoo' is second only to the great wrestling entertainment legend Ric Flair's 'WOO' in memorable excitement yelps IMO.

I want the option. Besides the Origins/II dub was good from what I heard, it is just that they cut some stuff that was in the Japanese version, they would have to have redubbed.
