Finished Order Of Ecclesia today. Game is definitely a lot better than I remember and the Dracula fight is pretty great too. It's one of a bummer he doesn't transform into some demonic second form but seeing him walk around like he does in this game is pretty awesome.

You guys got any games on deck for Halloween season?

I also replayed it on the new collection.  It was fun, and cheating on the training hall made it way less annoying. Also didn't worry about doing all the villager quests, so the grind didn't bother me as much as the last time I played it.  Albus mode was actually petty fun as well.

As for Halloween,  I just bought FF16 complete edition on pc, that will probably consume my gaming time for the next couple months.

I have a physical copy of this game that I found in a used CD store in Atlanta for $5 years ago. It's an interesting version, but it's weird the way Konami decided to be treat the resolution for the Saturn.

Incidentally, I started Gal Guardians yesterday and I'm having fun with it so far. The graphical style is nice, the characters are fun, and it seems like a cross between metroidvania and classicvania in some ways.

I honestly don't think Konami understood the Saturn...at all. Like they clearly didn't understand how to use the different VDP pipelines for transparencies and stuff, the load times are awful, the map is buried in the menu.

That version has some weird ideas that could be cool to see in future ports, like that version of Maria, but overall I just don't think Konami understood the Saturn's hardware. Not trying to criticize too harshly on that either I don't think most devs did, much as i lovr my Saturn, it was kind of a stupidly designed machine. Kind of like a Mercedes Benze, just over engineered to the point of needless complication for most mechanics.

Apparently it was able to output tilesets at a larger size than the PS but Konami's solution was to just add some pixels and that's why it looks all stretched out and weird.

Sounds like a similar case as the PS3. Something about the architecture of that console made it difficult to develop for and so the PS3 versions of a lot of games are a mess. I bought a Saturn online once but the guy I bought it from did a shit job packing it and it arrived broken 😑 Good thing there are some good emulators though, that system has such a great library of games.
