Jody's Corner podcast brought up a fun little debate a few nights ago--- basically, you are reincarnated and for some reason, you have a choice for the next life:

Genius intellect, but you are ugly.

Average intelligence, but you look incredibly hot/fine/good to most people.

 

They made this a bit too easy, imo... clear answer would be #2... it becomes a tougher choice if that 2nd option is "You are beautiful...but stupid." (haha or maybe even retarded)  If that was the case, I'd definitely go with option #1.  I doubt most people would *want* to be a dumbass in their next life if they could help it.

 

That got me thinking of some more controversial choices though... in the next life, I occasionally wonder how many race-obsessed people would choose to come back as the same race again?  Honestly, I'd say wealth is far more important.  If reincarnation was a real thing, and I had any choice at all over the details of the next life... I'd say let me be born to a wealthy family, so I can grow up as a spoiled trust-fund brat in a large mansion, completely out of touch with how the middle-class people get through life.  Big-time generational wealth WINS all day, folks.  haha I want to have as much privilege and freedom as possible...it seems odd to me that some people wouldn't want that.

Apparently Twitter actually sucks. I followed one friend who says Twitter is a horrible place, but this whole time my feed is just art and Street Fighter. After following him, I found out he retweets everything. When I started getting an idea of his timeline, I realised what he meant. I'm in the minority where I actually like the platform because I curate it to a razor's edge. I just treat it like an RPG.

One of the things I did towards the end of last year is try to curate my social media platforms a little better. I do have to use FB unfortunately because my daughter-in-law and her spouse use it (by it, I mean mostly Messenger) to contact us regarding stuff with the grandkids. They're also major tech luddites, and I've tried on more than one occasion to get them to stop using it. I like being able to endlessly filter stuff on reddit, and the first developer that can provide RES-like controls to FB, and get rid of the vast majority of the headassery on my wall would definitely be supported for sure!
