VirginDefiler
seeing the new travis scott jordans with the reverse nike logo makes me wanna punch travis + the guy at nike that said ok to its launch in the face. its not ugly sneaks mind you. but seeing such lazy design then daring to ask 500 for it....pisses me off. i wish clothing companies stop giving people. with no visual talent...designer jobs. first it was jessica alba, then yeezy. then rihanna, now travis. just...stop pls. stop profiting off of famous peeps. n letting em design shit. at least jordan stuck to just..playing golf n letting others design his bs. lol. tbh i have no idea if travis scott designed it or not. still tho. nah. reverse nike logo just makes me think some old dude in china woke up with a hangover and put the logo on backward by accident. or mock fake nikes made in thailand. mini rant over. AriesWarlock
Quote It would also provide some financial armor for the struggling Dish Network. The company’s in debt to the tune of billions of dollars because, well, satellite TV isn’t exactly a growth industry anymore. Stream, baby, stream. All told, Dish has $2 billion in debt that’s due in November and only $500 million in available cash. That math don’t add up to anything but bankruptcy. The specifics of the deal are pretty dang convoluted. It’s a multi-step transaction with a few players. First, the private equity firm TPG will acquire a majority stake in DirectTV from AT&T for $7.6 billion. Next, DirecTV will buy Dish Network for just a single dollar. However, it’ll also take on that $2 billion in debt. EchoStar, the parent company of Dish, will hold onto some parts of the business as part of the transaction, including over $30 billion in wireless spectrum investments. DirecTV will get the Sling TV video service as part of the deal. The acquisition would create a massive pay-TV provider, with a combined total of around 19 million subscribers. As a counterpoint, cable TV leader Comcast has 13.2 million subscribers. Netflix is creeping up on 300 million subscribers, to show the stark contrast between pay-TV and streaming. Sonichuman
Deeper thoughts/impressions on Transformers One Spoiler Transformers One thoughts/impressions/etc: Went to go see Transformers One with X last saturday and to make this as simple as possible starting out. It's good. Really good. I'm not sure if I would put this better or under Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts at the moment but I can confidently say that it's definitely up there and should be in the same conversation as those movies. It's pretty criminal that this movie is not making the money that it deserves in the box office. Like TF? Kids like TF? Easy recommend OK so now for the more deeper stuff on it, gonna try to keep this spoiler free. I'm not going to pretend I know everything about general TF lore because I honestly don't but I am vaguely aware of original origins pertaining Orion Pax's turn into Optimus and D16's turn into Megatron and this movie definitely...takes a different take on that. It's not bad imo...the only thing I wish they had kept was D16's warrior background before his turn into Megatron which they don't do at all. They instead tried to focus more on Orion and D16's friendship and I'm pretty sure they did this to try to make the later part of the movie more impactful. Chris Hemsworth, Bryan Henry, and Scarlett Johansson all did Great jobs as their characters. I'd say just most of the actors did a great job in their rolls. They try to do their own thing with the characters which is probably for the best because much like Kevin Conroy is Batman, it's gonna be really hard for anybody to replace Peter Cullen as Optimus. The only character that I have mixed feelings on was Bumblebee since they made him the designated comedy relief when that role was already being shared pretty evenly between D16 and Orion's antics. There's a joke that Bumblebee attempts to do earlier on in the movie that I feels falls flat at but they end up turning it into a brick joke later that did make me crack a smile. I don't think any nitpicks I have with Bumblebee are Keegan's fault though and more so the script than anything. Animation for this movie was really clean and seeing the world of Cybertron realized in this manner was extremely pretty. Action sequences were well framed and I don't think there was ever a time in the movie where I didn't understand what was going on where the scene was heading. Story was also pretty interesting in how they did it with some themes involving distrust of the government. It's really hard to watch this movie and not think that someone somewhere is thinking of some real life parallels/comparisons in real life. Again just a really good film and I really hope that Paramount doesn't get discouraged to do a sequel for this because people have wanted a Transformers film that focused just on the bots and this is it! This has amazing potential to be something truly great with the way this movie ended. I'm hoping that it gets a chance to realize it. DangerousJ and Wellman 2 Quote Link to comment

DangerousJ
Paramount's marketing team seems to be asleep at the wheel. Even Sonic 3 took a while for the first trailer to drop and has a somewhat muted campaign despite being their "golden goose" Lots of people online are clamoring for Bay to return. I think that would be a wrong move personally. While he brought TF into the mainstream consciousness and made it profitable, his take did too much damage long term by making it just cacophony without any attachments to the robots. The MCU for good or I'll made you care about Tony and Steve so that you were compelled to keep watching even if the movies were not all great. think another element which is worrisome is the disjointed approach to TF after Bumblebee (2018). Instead of doing a sequel to that, we had ROTB which was Diet Bay then TF1 . It feels of throwing things at a dartboard and seeing what sticks. I think they should cancel the GIJOE crossover because that franchise is in even worse shape than TF and will probably tank with a 200 M budget. I would do another TF1 sequel for close to this budget ($75M) after 4-5 years and hype the hell out of it due to the critical acclaim of this movie. Quote Link to comment
Sonichuman
Bay in the producer chair and not directing is where I think the sweet spot needs to be and should remain. He's at just the right distance to the franchise he needs to be without having a direct hand on the wheel. DangerousJ and Wellman 2 Quote Link to comment

Apparently FEMA has dispatched about 3600 agents and are looking at getting some volunteers from other agencies since it's been running at 60% capacity due to how many other disasters have been happening. But there are also US armed services personnel that have been dispatched to help Israel only with "defense," although I doubt Iran will see it that way. Quote Link to comment
