Who wants to play a rousing game of hide and seek for 20 minutes so we can set up a lounge this weekend?

I'd be willing to give it a shot. I'm already used to having to desperately search for my opponent after playing Strive betas. Also will make me finally download it so I have it.

Not as frustrating, but also a completely different kind of frustration.

STRIVE: Ok, meet me in russia on floor 8 in the top left corner.

after 7 minutes of trying to actually link up

Finally lets get some games in!

Wins one gameranks up and is teleported to a new floor

VF5US: WHERE THE LIVING FUCK ARE YOU!!! GGGGGAAAAAAAHHHH

after 10 minutes of furious searching you find them and it's fine

So I'm not the only VF newbie that notices Jean looks like Sephiroth, dresses like Ken & fights like a Mishima. He's definitely one of the ones I'll try to learn 🤣

I'll stick to him and Goh for now, try to learn the fundamentals then maybe a 3rd

But it kinda isn’t? It was a full rebuild in a new engine, so they put in some serious work.

until it came to a menu and a search bar. Wild.

Is that right? I've heard it's basically the old game, old engine, etc just with nicer textures. From what I keep hearing they did this shit on a shoestring budget, or at least it comes off this way. Haven't tried it yet tho.

Who ever told you that was greatly mistaken. The Yakuza team rebuilt VF5 in the Dragon Engine. That's the current engine for the Yakuza series that the started using with Yakuza 6. The assets, models, background, textures, etc. are all new. I don't doubt the there was a limited budget. I think that's why the customization options are so limited as they'd have to remodel all of the customizations options and there a ridiculous amount of those. Still disappointed by the customization but I was honestly expecting it to be scaled back when I found out the game wasn't an upscaled port.

Is this the port they hid within one of the Yakuza games?
