After the last ten-ish characters or so, Luke seems very basic. Weird way to finish up the game, but then again this was never really planned in advance. It's funny how much Capcom pushes him but I've yet to see anyone being excited about the character himself. Gameplay is one matter but I find him fundamentally uninteresting and his ingame antics kind of feel at odds with the little story snippet they showed.

 

I wonder how his tackle works and if it will be a better or worse version of Lucia's. They haven't mentioned if it can be cancelled so I assume it can't, which makes the overhead kick seem a bit pointless. The recharging V-Trigger seems more like a case "let's try this, we haven't done this before" than an actual game changer. Probably easier to just spend the resources straight away and wait for the second one than trying to extend the duration with normal combos.

And they focus currently to make the correct areas look good first.

Oh the models themselves are fine. It seems, to me at least, that the leaner look for their female characters was an artistic choice. I mean Ryo's a brick house and Mary can't get any muscle tone....

I didn't watch the update vid, but ngl, Luke doesn't look like a character to build around.

Somebody really came up with Rashid's V-skill 2 and then told themselves it was a good idea.

 

I swear I do less air dashes in Strive than this guy is doing in this match.

The only thing you need to discourage too much blocking (if there is such a thing) is a healthy amount if chip damage. Chip damage on all attacks like Mortal Kombat or the grey recoverable damage like SFV is also good. 
 

I also don’t like guard meters, but because I don’t like the game enforcing a limit on how long or how much I can do a basic action like that. It’s much better design to have a soft limit with increasing risk/cost since it leaves more room for player decision.

The fact that comebacks are forced into existence by game hasn't stopped being annoying. Even more so if you go to a game that doesn't have that issue.  

 

This game definitely has a large amount of things I dont want to see back. Its actually crazy how many of them I'm good never seeing again in an SF game.

I'd like to see an SF game that doesn't have a bunch of dumb subsystems in it and just has characters with REALLY great movesets. I realize this is highly unlikely in this day and age, but a SF game that feels as light as 3s but without any subsystems is one Id probably come back and play.

That's why I looked at his V-Skill because it's the only unique thing about him, everything else is just a modified shoto à la Lucia.

 

I'm not saying his V-Skill becoming universal would be a good thing, I'm just wondering what, if anything, out of his moveset is a glimpse into SFVI or if it's just bait like Omega Mode.

Missionary is like playing guitar. Yeah you can learn a few strum patterns and say the instrument is boring. Or you could actually learn to play guitar and realize that there's a lot you can do once you add technique to it.

I'll do it but its been put on a pedestal because of porn. You also don't really have access to a lot of the other touching that heightens a position.

 

Plenty of other positions offer you more to do for your partner than doggy.

 

Yeah, missionary has a bad history. But now that we have really comfortable beds to do the nasty on, its way top tier. I've heard men complain that some women just lie there during missionary. Thats just telling on yourself. You gonna tell me that you had a naked woman in front of you, had complete access to all her erogenous zones and couldn't elicit a response? Fam, we gotta talk about how bad you are at fucking.

It depends on the game in my opinion. I think in a game like sfv, yeah it's a bad mechanic. In something where pressure is actually real and you're put into a situation to make a decision (not just delay tech or "take the throw"), I think it's a fun thing to have, especially combined with alpha counter.
