New Magic Knight Rayearth Anime Announced for 30th Anniversary

It’s a minute and a half long, starting with a compilation of the original anime, which ran from October 1994 to November 1995. Then, it shows the new iterations of the three main characters: Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji. The last shot of their backs is also the new visual that the X account shared.

Magic Knight Rayearth follows three modern-day Japanese eighth-grade girls who find themselves in the fantasy world of Cephiro. They awaken to magical powers, learn to work together, and become friends during their journey to save Princess Emeraude, who is the Pillar necessary to maintain Cephiro. It originated as a manga and aside from the anime adaptation, there was also an OVA and several video games.

More information on the new Magic Knight Rayearth anime will come out on July 3, 2024.

I've seen the Initial D omnibus books at my Books a Million. Over the past few weeks. I've never checked out this series but I was aware of it back in the day. The covers for these omnibus editions are pretty dope and I was able to get vol. 1 for $15 off Amazon. Sooo, yeah, I'm collecting Initial D now. The racing panels look pretty sick. Gonna turn on some racing VGM and see what the fuss for this series has been about.

I've been waiting for a fighting scene like that for years^ lol.

All 3 of Takeshi Koike's Lupin III projects are great. Extremely stylish. His movie Red Line is a Hot Wheels visual master piece, highly recommend it. All his work is great imo 👍

Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Series Will End in September 2024

Quote

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga series will conclude at the end of September 2024. Shueisha has announced via the franchise’s official social media account that it will publish the final episode of the manga on Monday, September 30, 2024. Given that it is simultaneously released worldwide via MangaPlus and Viz Media, it should appear worldwide shortly after.

Shueisha will publish the 44th issue of the 2024 Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on that day. This issue will contain the 271st episode of Jujutsu Kaisen, which will also mark the end of the manga series. In addition, the company noted that there are five more chapters scheduled for the manga.

The conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen in 2024 has been expected for a while, though. The series’ author Gege Akutami announced at Jump Festa 2024 in mid-December 2023 that this could have been the title’s last appearance during its active serialization at the annual event.

Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen first appeared in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in the 14th issue of 2018 published on March 5, 2018. Shueisha has published 27 tankobon volumes of the manga as of July 2024, with the 28th volume scheduled for release on October 4, 2024.

The anime adaptation, which first launched in 2020, has also received the “Most in-demand animated TV show in the World” record in the 2025 Guinness World Records, as it has surpassed even the likes of One Piece and Attack on Titan. In July 2024, TOHO Animation published a teaser trailer for the anime’s third season, which will cover the Culling Game arc.

The 271st episode of Jujutsu Kaisen, which also acts as the final episode of the manga series, will be published on September 30, 2024.

Manga I've gotten into:

The Fable. Like Initial D, I was eyeing the omnibus editions for this for a while. I bought and read some of the first and it clicked with me right off the bat. Omnibus 1 and 2 bought.

Fool Night. In the distant future the sun is blocked out, making for very little plant life. People an turn themselves into plants to help humanity keep on going. Just finished the first volume and I'm looking forward to vol. 2.

Dr. Stone. I love post apocalyptic stuff and this is turning out to be awesome. I've seen the first two seasons of the anime, picked up Vols. 1-6 of the manga and have begun season 3. With season four not coming out until sometime next year, I'll more than likely buy and finish the manga since it is only 26 books and all of it is already in English.

Man, I just started watching Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Show is freaking HILARIOUS. Every time drama happens between Senpai and Uzaki, the coffee shop owners close up the shop like...

post popcorn GIF

And why is every female in this show a brick house?! Like, no one has A-cup angst. I have no idea why Ami felt self conscience seeing Uzaki in the locker room in the beach episode because she is staked herself!

Bought Paradise Kiss 20th Anniversary Edition. Never read this back in the day but the art style intrigued me. I'm liking it a lot more than I expected. Fashion drama isn't something I thought I would dig that much. This has me excited to check out Ai Yazawa's other work, Neighborhood Story

Love's in Sight is only 8 volumes and all of it is translated and in English. So I bought the first 3 and will probably buy the rest in the near future.

I saw the anime for Rent-a-Girlfriend. I liked it and thought about checking out the manga. Bruuuuh. 300+ chapters and the main character and main love interest STILL aren't legit in a relationship?? I've seen/read shorter rom-coms where the mains end up together much sooner. I'm kinda torn on whether to pick up the manga.

I always wondered if Kurotsuchi would ever get his just desert not only for blowing up his own squad members but for killing all those quincy.

In the novels it’s made pretty clear that basically all of the Seireitei’s governing body and especially squad zero are objectively “evil.”
The only reason they aren’t the villains of Bleach is because Ichigo just so happens to nominally side with them instead of their enemies.
Ichibei and even Shunsui planned on mutilating Ichigo and forcefully making him a replacement for the “Soul King” if needed. They are NOT “good” people.

At least Shunsui isnt looking forward to it and actually gave his friend passes to see him one more time.

@zeronos2844  True, that does make him marginally less of an a-hole. And there ARE individual Shinigami who are decent enough people. But the organization as a whole is pretty freaking corrupt.
That's actually part of the reason Aizen wanted to overthrow it, not that he was anything remotely close to being a "good guy" either.
