Hawkingbird Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Dread is actually real! I still remember the rumors of the original Metroid Dread over 10 years ago. I was a big fan of Fusion and loved Samus Returns. Easily my most hyped game this year. JHDK, Chadouken, Wellman and 5 others 8 Quote
Camacho Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Might be enough for me to finally get a switch. I bought a 3ds primarily for Samus Returns, was very happy with that game. JHDK, Volt, Hawkingbird and 2 others 5 Quote

Honestly, I don't regret it, it's a very nice handheld that you can plug in a TV. Library is pretty good too. It was desperately needing a Metroid game on it. Btw, there were TWO Dread sessions on the Treehouse. Turns out I missed the 2nd. Gonna link the vids in the OP too. Spoiler JHDK 1 Quote
Wellman Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Not going to lie, don't love Fusion but expanding on that Samus Returns game play is so beautiful in HD. They got me again. DoctaMario, Volt, RSG3 and 2 others 5 Quote
RSG3 Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 2D Metroid is so surprising. Nintendo stole E3 with this game alone. DoctaMario, Darc_Requiem, HD-Man and 5 others 8 Quote

What do y'all expect out of it? It looks like they’re bringing the stalker aspect back from Fusion with multiple types of robots that hunt you throughout the map. I’m all for that. Metroid has this great capacity to tell sci-fi Horror stories and I always felt they peaked at doing that with Fusion. I’m really curious to know what’s going on with the story and where it takes place in the timeline. Fusion pretty much sits at the end of everything so they could really do anything they want to move the story forward if it’s post Fusion. Pretty sure we see a Chozo sabotaging Samus during the trailer. Wonder what that’s about… Chadouken and Volt 2 Quote

If so I want this game to make use of Samus metriod biology. M A R T I A N, Volt, RSG3 and 1 other 3 1 Quote

Straight up says Metroid 5 before the Dread tagline. Gameplay deadass looks like a mix of Samus Returns and Fusion. The atmospheric detail in this game too. Lawd have mercy.
