Serious note:

So many new characters have shown up sense after the release of the first batch of DLC characters. I wonder how all of the characters are going to fit into the next story mode? As if to say, what roles will the play? I hope there is not anywhere near as much jobbing as in the S1 story.

Since the usual lore heavy weights are stuck in Discord....Discourse. I guess I'll have to drop my humor shtick and get serious for a moment. If we get a second story mode. What direction do you think it should take. I'll start off.

 

I think the main focus should be on Ed's formation of Neo Shadaloo. I think it should be more of an Anti-Hero type of organization. Ed could be trying to recruit and give safe haven to victims of Shadoloo/S.I.N. experimentation. This could provide an interesting narrative and give a reason for Capcom to reuse the doll assets from A Shadow Falls.

 

Some of the dolls would stay with Cammy and others would fall in line with Ed. He could have an "any means necessary" method to his tactics. This would give him good intentions but put him at odds with hero characters like Cammy and Chun Li. You could have some of the dolls that didn't get a move set fall in league with Ed. This would allow players to fight against Noembelu, Xiayu, and Jianyu. Decapre, Juli, and Juni could fall in league with Cammy.

 

The Illuminati would be in the background. Gill, Urien, and Kolin would be using the power vacuum created by the fall of Shadaloo to their advantage. While the "hero's" are focused on Neo Shadaloo. The Illuminati would be setting the table for the events of SF3 to take place. Maybe one of the characters from the main story line would join their ranks. Decapre could be tempted by the possibility of having her scars healed. Or Ed could convinced to fall in line with Gills doctrine and roll Neo Shadoloo in their ranks.

 

Just spit balling ideas off the top of my head. Anyone else have thoughts on the matter.

I think the story will focus more on the characters from season 2 and perhaps season 3. Ed/Falke/Neo Shadaloo should be the main protagonists.

All I can say is that there are some positive aspects of the story but it is absolutely laughable in many other areas (not that such a description is that much different from most other fighting games, depending on ones point of view). However, it still leaves us with so much to discuss as to what is actually going on between the characters as well as what can take place at a later date (considering that Capcom hires some decent writers).

As my previous avatar was in memory of the late writer Terry Pratchett (it was Tiffany, my favourite amongst his characters), this is Anne Shirley from Akage no An (Anne of Green Gables), in memory of its director Isao Takahata recently passed away. That series is a masterpiece, even better than the original novel.

They put all this work into giving profiles for all these side characters...too bad SF lore is so boring and nothing will ever be done with them... =/

They have to start somewhere. Honestly I find the work they are doing at CFN to be encouraging. The character profile are a nice way to build out the Street Fighter world. The side stories do a good job of giving insight into the characters personalities. What Capcom needs to do is make the lore from CFN accessible in SFV. It's something they've already created and it increases the casual appeal. Despite what pros and EH commenters think, they are a lot of people that like Street Fighter for the lore.
