Sonichuman Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Tecmo didn't do anything to Itagaki, most of the issues surrounding Itagaki were of Itagaki's own doing. I'm not gonna sit here and put him completely on a pedestal without recognizing that with his great contributions to the action and fighting genres that he wasn't also a flawed dude. Tecmo had to deal with that whole sexual harrassment fiasco and pretty much things spiraled from there but I don't recall Tecmo outright saying shit or throwing shade at him when they parted ways so trying to come at them like this was their fault is dumb. Hopefully we'll find out what it was that resulted in his death but I wouldn't be surprised if a large part of it was depression. Dude had a larger than life ego and personality and I don't doubt the failures and seemingly falling further and further behind his peers probably fucking sucked. Sucks he won't be able to get his comeback and have his redemption arc. Quote
Sonichuman Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 I forgot this was even a thing....also a competitive multiplayer game? Ya'll have no experience in this whatsoever but ok...Godspeed to you. DangerousJ 1 Quote

Battlefield 6 hit all-time highs for franchise sales during the first three days of launch, selling over 7 million copies and counting. Thanks to the series' passionate community, the game had over 172 million matches played online and accumulated over 15 million hours watched on streaming services during the 3-day weekend as well as earning the most concurrent players for Battlefield ever. "First and foremost we want to thank our players," said Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield. "Battlefield 6 was built with our fans. From the initial concept through to the implementation of Battlefield Labs and into the record-shattering Open Beta we have been obsessed with player feedback. Together, with our players we've had a singular goal: to craft the best Battlefield ever. And this is just the beginning - our first season of new content is just 12 days away." "We never take moments like this for granted, so I want to express our sincere gratitude to our global Battlefield Studios and passionate community that has helped get us to this point," said Vince Zampella, Executive Vice President. Sonichuman Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 So conflicted....and I'm about to actually contribute to that number when I pick up the game tomorrow. Just the thought of saying "congrats EA" leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Quote

RegH81 Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 IHow do you guys feel about using rewinds and save states for older games? I grew up on a lot of titles in the 80s and 90s so I can get through stuff like Super Mario Bros. and Mega Man 1-2 in one setting. But man, I would have killed for a save file in Super Mario Bros. 3 back in the day. Even back then, I thought it was odd that there was no way to save your progress for what was at the time, a lengthy game if you weren't using Warp Whistles. I don't mind using rewinds for something like Ghosts 'n Goblins because I'm positive that the game was designed by literal demons. RSG3 and DoctaMario 2 Quote
DangerousJ Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 I have no qualms about save states in 80s/90s games. As a kid , I never got past Soda Popinski. I actually got to Tyson as an adult after many attempts. I was so proud lol. He still tore up my bootyhole doe. RegH81 and DoctaMario 2 Quote
Sonichuman Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 I saw this James Lindsay post earlier and rolled my eyes at it...love that people have been coming out of the woodwork and telling him how dumb and archaic this take is. AriesWarlock, Hecatom, DoctaMario and 5 others 3 5 Quote

I use them to learn difficult sections of shmups and boss fights with insane patterns because it's way easier to git gud when you can practice the sections 20 times in 20 minutes instead of only 2 or 3 times per 20 minutes. I also get save states as a check point system when used reasonably, but don't tell me you beat a game and then it turns out you save scummed it like a 90s fps Boomer Shooter or something. I barely respect that in those shooters and they designed them with it mind lmao. But if I had to beat shit as a kid in one go, you PC heads can amange it 95% of the time lmao.
