Kubo just can't stop creating new characters, and gave himself a way to bring back any of the classics that he wants.

 

But mostly this will finely put to rest the most burning unresolved question from the main series:  who ended up hooking up with whom?

I'm almost sure the last chapter is where they introduced renjis daughter

Is it confirmed that this is the start of a new arc or is this one and done? The ending led me to believe it's the former but just making sure.

Yeah for a 'one shot' this has to be a prequel chapter to a sequel mini series. Which frankly annoys me cause I was hyped for stuff to continue via Burn the Witch, where there is less shit to have to remember about who is who and what does what since there are only so many chapters of it currently. Would have preferred this chapter if it was just watching one of the two kids goof around and didn't lead into a continuation arc.

Burn The Witch was pretty decent and a cool world so i was hoping they would continue it in animated form.

Same. I def could see it continuing, it was always meant to be spaced out episodes but we never knew how spaced out.
