The Sonic Thread: The Year of Shadow. It all starts with this.... Sonic X Shadow Generations 10/25/2024 followed by child murder in Sonic 3 movie on 12/20/2024!

Gotta say DC was definitely not at the top of the list of potential crossovers for this series.  I'm not sure how to feel about this but Ian Flynn is doing it so I'm going be cautiously optimistic.

This animation on this Begginings video they're doing just makes me wants an actual full blown 12 season of stories within the universe done with this high quality.  I'm hoping that at some point Sega looks at how well the production staff has been doing on these shorts they've essentially been doing for "free" with the budget that they've had and someone over there is like "OK sooo...we've proven we can do this.  We've got the chops.  Let's go all in on something fucking amazing!".

People were suspecting that Mephiles was going to be showing up in this game and they were correct and now the fact that there's a Forces level confirmed, That likely means that Infinite may show up.

What level from Forces can they possibly use? That game has no rememorable stage or aesthetic. The Forces portion should just be a boss fight with Infinite.

The OST and Infinite (conception wise and presentation wise...execution is arguable) are the best things about that game for me.  Stages could have been far more interesting especially for something that's supposed to be "global".  They could have and should have done way more in terms of stage aesthetics, it should have been more of a combo of new areas and previous areas from the franchises but changed up similar to "Sand Hill".  Story also had really great potential but didn't quite hit in the way it needed it to,

Looks like Shadow is probably fully back on the menu boys.   If SXS Generations some how flops I'll be super surprised.

Things are starting to come to a head with this arc of the comic and Clutch's plans are starting to have stress points.  I'm unsure of what their plan is for Surge and Kit at the moment since it looked like they were about to heel/face turn until Clutch gave them a reality check.  I don't how I feel about them turning good quite yet...their past still feels unresolved and I feel that should get in the way of them doing that at the moment.  I also like the duo rival/doppleganger dynamic they have in contrast to Sonic and Tails at the moment so I hope they don't write them in a manner to make them give that up yet.

It's a Godsend that we're getting an upgraded Sonic Generations, but it's a shame that like 99% of people who are going to buy it have never even heard of Spark the Electric  Jester 3 which is basically the good parts of Sonic Adventure on steroids.

Well Spark isn't advertised well at all, and word of mouth on it is weak. I've gotten like...2...maybe 3 videos on it I. My feed and none of them from the developer. I watch plenty of Sonic content to and barely any of them ever talk about it either.

It looks pretty cool tho, if a bit easy. Maybe that's just cuz the people playing know what they are doing but man it sure seems tough to fuck up in that game.

It's not a super difficult game, and yeah I don't think there was much budget to market it IIRC the solo developer been trying to get 2 and 3 on Switch for years, but got rejected by Nintendo for some reason. There are tricky sections for sure, but it's more about freedom than difficulty as there's multiple different paths at almost any point of most levels. I think any fan of the genre would admit Spark 3 runs rings around the 3D sonic games so again great to see Generations hype, I just hope more people play Spark 3 since it just released on Switch last month and when you beat it you unlock all the levels from Spark 2.

@Sonichuman Penny's Big Breakaway is amazing for fans of momentum based platformers, but there's a big caveat in that the mechanics are fairly complicated and require you to really put in the time and effort to understanding them as well as the physics of the world or else you won't be going fast at all. People who want to go fast and  enjoy zooming around out the gate like a 3D Sonic will be disappointed.

I mean the brain dead nature of 3D Sonic is part of what I tend to take issue with so Spark sounds like more of that. Still it looks really cool so it's on my radar to play eventually.

Penny's sounds more my speed as well.
