It's not just lower damage output, it's losing access to certain normals and having less options at your disposal overall. Have you played the demo? Modern controls feel absolutely awful IMO, it's like that Mario Kart feature that keeps you on the track and automatically pushes your vehicle to the center of the road at all times. 

 

It's really, absolutely, only meant for people who have no idea to play and who want to pull off cool-looking stuff without ever opening the command list. It will have zero impact on any serious competition or even online play among people with just basic SF experience.

Tbh all this drama could be dodged in the most simple way, just ban modern controls from major tournaments and make online ranked vs have an option to manually filter them off

 

Do that and even if unbalanced nobody will have much room to complain

 

Aside maybe modern controls people, but we should stop pretend they have human rights 😀

 

Capcom getting their money, them mashing the buttons and that's should be about it

 

If you want to do more, learn to ⬇️↘️➡️ 

 

 

Actually would be a way to bring people to the true SF, rather than bring a fake SF to people

Modern controls are legal to use in CPT. Being the game's default control layout Capcom will never ban it.

SF6 Ryu has twice as many specials, and they kinda bleed into each other. Two advancing kick specials that both hit high?   A Shock State Install? A diet fireball? A super diet fireball?

 

 

I'm kinda with you for a lot of stuff. Mostly because I think characters having holes of things they can't do is as important as what they can. In this case he got moves to help with system issues.

 

The upclose hadou thingy is plus on block if I'm remembering right.  Since you can parry fireballs somewhat, this gives Ryu a way to attack the drive gauge to pressure people. Most SF games he isn't going to need it. In this one, with the lack of plus frames all around, it lets him do something on block that isn't making himself really negative with one of his other specials.

lol, Capcom already tried this EO stuff with Capcom VS Snk 2 EO Mode and the custom groove modes. Nobody really used that stuff.

 

I remember playing one match on XBL CVS2 where this one guy did slide (Dictator/Vega) then when it was blocked canceled it into the take off the hat and brush your hair back taunt. The 1st few times seeing this, I was like WTF? Then, oh yeah, he's using custom EX groove, etc. After a while it was funny seeing that slide/taunt cancel. In the end he didn't win a lot of matches though. There was another one where a grab/throw juggled into the level 3 super psycho crusher juggle kind of like the jumping strong air juggle into a legit/non-EO super psycho crusher.

 

Speaking of CVS2, I don't know why people don't use Rugal with a roll cancel groove. Rugal can godpress through all projectile spammers. Also, N-Groove Rugal can do a level 3 godpress super then finish the super by doing a level 1 genocide cutter super in the corner that takes off like 70% or more damage depending on the character.

Honestly guys, I'm starting to wonder if I'll even be able to play SF6 that much. I'm not going to bitch, Bea has it WAY worse than me, but my wrist has gotten worse over the last couple weeks. I have an appointment with a specialist next week. Hopefully he can be more helpful than the ones I've seen in the past. I literally gave up on it getting better. I got tired of burning money on doctor's visits to get no resolution on the issue. 😑

I appreciate it guys. My wrist has been busted for a while. It just, except for my range of motion being gone, hasn't really bothered me in the last couple of years. Outside of having to do push ups on my fists, it wasn't that much of an issue to me anymore. Now I'm getting numbness in the tips of my thumb and forefinger among other things, so I'm getting a bit concerned.

Plus it's gives him a lot of saucy combos. A lot of the long big damage comes has him landing a charged version or EX version. That you throw in the Denjin Charge variation of it and that adds even more ways he can use it. That isn't even including the Super. Level 8 CPU Ryu was looking a hidden boss with all the shit he was pulling off.

 

Edit: @Pair of RooksHonestly, stick is the least stressful. I don't move my wrist much, I mostly use my thumb and forefinger. I may have to try using my middle and ring finger instead if this keeps up. I was thinking about the "Cheatbox" but if I'm going to have numbness in my fingertips that's a no go. Controller is differently out. I was playing NFS Unbound the other day and had to stop because the numbness in thumb and forefinger. I need my thumb to steer and forefinger to hit brake with the left trigger and I was losing feeling in them 😑

This might be an unpopular opinion, but...

 

If you're getting blown up by people using a one button super/drive/etc, your game has bigger problems than their control scheme and you're probably getting away with stuff against players using the standard control scheme that you shouldn't be.

Have you ever had any steroid shots? They've made a difference for people I know who have had joint issues. If it's tendonitis, putting your hands/wrists/forearms in ice water can help too, although that's a bit more of an extreme measure, but taking a lot of vitamin B and drinking a bit of Gatorade every day can help as well. 

 

I used to have issues when I played stick, especially with my elbow, but moving to hitbox helped a lot. It's much more ergonomic and if you created a little "pillow" for your wrists to rest on, it might help too. Just something to consider, because as a guitarist, I'm all too familiar with those kids of issues.

I don't know the extent of your issues but I also got problems in my left arm and its the reason why im switching over to leverless.

 

When I was making the DnF combo guide for trouble shooter and his like 6 mini dashes per combo, that shit put me at the hospital cause of the pain I was having.

 

Leverless really is much less impactful, that and I started using a bunch of hand/grip/forearm strengthening workout things, and its made life much easier for me and manageable.
