Everything for my Dad's service turned out well. Being that he was a retired LEO gave him a pretty solid funeral escort. He was buried at a national cemetery as he was a veteran. The airman that played Taps made it sound like a recording. 

 

Leaving my parents house was somber. My dad was in a medical facility for about 2 months and I've been back to SC multiple times. Knowing that he won't ever wave goodbye again certainly gave me pause.
