    Funny Names

Russ Fagg  (Guy running for Montana Senate)

Andrew Vajna  (executive associated with Terminator films)

(If I had to guess, Its probably pronounced "Vanya" but if you see it in print/onscreen first...)

Olivia Cockburn (actress Olivia Wilde's birth name)

Dick Swett (former New Hampshire congressman)

I can certainly see why Olivia changed her screen name haha.

  2. Not sure if this goes here; but, these threads have been good grounds for discussion on upcoming films that we may or may not plan to see. It could even go so far as to make distinctions on whether you plan to see it in theater or wait for DVD/Blu-ray release.

Season 2 starts on April 23.

Altered Carbon def worth it. Story isn't on the same level as Westworld, but it's a pretty interesting murder mystery set in a cool world.

The premise made me think it was a Ghost in the Shell rip-off, but it's really pretty inventive.

Agreed about Altered Carbon. I still need to finish that show as well. Curses, my list will be the undoing of me.

How is season two? I've heard mixed opinions about it. If it's truly worth watching, I'll make the effort to watch all of season one over the next week or so.

The fights are the shows biggest drawn. If they had guns readily available it would either minimize the number of fights or break immersion because you'd be wondering "why aren't they using guns".

I disagree. There was another show with the same premise, Revolution. Though they had a little bit more information available as to why machinery and weapons other than black powder rifles and flintlocks, which were heavily unreliable.

Though this does help a bit: http://www.amc.com/shows/into-the-badlands/exclusives/the-world#history-anchor

"Because firearms have been banned, bladed weapons are commonplace and martial arts have flourished. In this world, power is taken, and only the stongest and most brutal prosper."

Anyway, I fell in love with season one and I'm gradually working my way through the second season. I only wish the episodes were available for download so that I could watch them when I'm waiting in the parking lot before my shift at work.

  5. First off, I'm new and just wanted to say that I love the theme selector. Very unique! Being as I'm new, I'm not sure how things have been or the workings behind the mind of the powers that be; but, I'd like to ask a few things.

1.) Has the layout always been this condensed? I ask because I'm used to a majority of communities that usually differentiate between general and media-themed threads. I just want to make sure before I start trying to navigate toward contributing threads and activity.

2.) Is there a FAQ about the history of this place? When I was browsing this community as a guest, I was trying to figure out/understand the history behind the community and the general focus; but, other than grasping that it's based around fighting games, I couldn't discern much nor the fact that it was a version 2.0?

  6. I saw Infinity War finally this weekend after spending a week playing 'try to pick a time after work when you can see the movie without having to worry about being up till 1 AM and then only getting three hours of sleep before working the next day'.

Can honestly say that I enjoyed it; but, I was disappointed. Thanos seemed so underplayed. Brolin did well, don't get me wrong; but, I honestly would have expected him to have a greater challenge. Maybe it's just because of the fact that I've read the Infinity War comics (both Infinity War and Infinity, which I'm actually re-reading). The ironic thing is that the Outriders literally look identical to those in Infinity.

I can agree that the deaths were pretty much to be expected.

Gotta love the foreshadowing by Dr. Strange...

    Tony: Why?

Dr. Strange: It was the only way...

    *fades*

Then the death of Peter Parker in Tony's arms, brought a tear to my eye. Such a good job by Holland.

    Overall, I enjoyed it.
