  1. I agree with Hawk it’s pretty expensive, and I say that as someone who uses it more than Drive Rush. It’s a good option but Drive Reversal combined with literally any other meter usage and you’re in the red zone. Hard to justify between drive rush being key to the game, needing at least 1 block for a counter DI, and whatever OD moves your character has. Parry is cheaper with a potentially higher upside, and a lot of the better characters have DP’s anyway. Edit: I’d be hesitant to make it cheaper too. The last thing this game needs is more shit that costs barely any meter.

  3. I can’t watch SF3 because I have little interest in playing it. Moment 37 is hype but even after seeing that I had 0 desire to watch the game because I don’t like playing it. My problem with watching SF6 is that there is way too much drive rushing. Watching someone get pressure or a big combo with drive rush is like watching someone in SFV pop VT to get a comeback. I like watching Dhalsim, JP, and maybe a bit of Gief, the rest are boring asl.
  4. I somewhat agree. SF4: fun to watch, bad to play SFV: bad to watch and play SF6: fun to play, not great to watch For me 6 is much better to watch than 5, but not on par with 4.
  5. Yeah grapplers are definitely feel the least viable archetype in the game so far. I think Manon is the best but like you said that’s a race to the bottom. Like I’ve said before I’m gonna give AKI and Akuma a hard look a probably move Manon to sub status. Even if I don’t like them I really like Chun-Li, she has pretty much everything. Aesthetically speaking however Manon is my favorite character in 6 by far, up there with Vega, Nash, and Ibuki. Unless there is a patch that claps her to Z tier for no reason I can’t see dropping her permanently. In fact if I could find a good Manon avatar I’d switch to that
  6. Lol like 1/3rd of the Manon discord is just the Laura waiting room. Really seems like a lot of people are dropping her or (like me) are looking to switch in the future. I still like her but like I said coming from Ken or experimenting with Chun-Li it feels like a totally different game.
  7. You talking about Honda just reminded me of this. I really appreciate how I feel like I see different styles of play in 6 a lot more often than I did in 5. Like 99.9% of people who I fought in 5 were hyper aggressive and always trying to rush down. Of course most players are still like that in 6, but I feel like I’ve seen a larger number of more passive, lame players in 2 months of SF6 than I did in 6-7 years of SFV and it’s so refreshing. Some Honda or Guile players will get the life lead on me and make me chase them across the stage and I enjoy the dynamic a lot. Unrelated by I’m heavily considering switching to Chun. I love Manon but I tried Chun and I had one of those “holy shit this character has everything…am I maining a bad character? 🤣” moments. I’ll probably get Manon to master and by then we should be closer to AKI so I’ll decide who of the 3 I want to play.
  8. What are they referring to in the patch notes with “input recognition frame”? See it mentioned a lot under charge characters. They explain it but I’m not 100% clear on what it means.

The relaxing of the Drive Rush inputs paired too well with low-risk light attacks, and would have had a huge impact on fights if left as is. This adjustment has been made to address that. ” So while I’m not a fan of Drive Rush being easier to do this paragraph here gives me hope that Capcom is fully aware of what they are doing in terms of balance. They explained the change and it reasoning makes sense.

  14. Man I’m willing to wait but the more I play this game the more I’m not sure I’m a big fan of the Drive System. I like the idea of it but the implementation feels overbearing the more I play the game. Idk how to properly describe it but when I watch or play the game I’m seeing them play “SF6” instead of playing “Ryu in SF6”. Like they are piloting the Drive Gauge first and whoever their character is secondary. It’s starting to make the game feel repetitive to me because fighting different characters feels too similar. Maybe I’m rambling idk I’m curious to see how (if) my perception changes as I go. I’m steadily climbing (just made Plat 5 with little issue) but the more I play the more it feels like the way I’m playing and using meter is incorrect.
  15. How is it 2023 and we still have ppl able to DC to protect their points? Dude disconnected literally as I emptied his life bar? Surely there should be some kind of way for the server to check and see the disconnect
  16. Which is personally why I typically hate specific defensive mechanics. It encourages the devs to make offense extra dumb and turns it into an arms race. “Oh this character can generate unblockables or unseeable left/right mix…should we calm that down?” “Nah it’s fine they can parry bro”.
  17. Looool I been waiting on you to come out the wood work yelling at the clouds about this. Double tapping dash is not hard, but single tapping a button feels infinitely better.

  20. I said this discord too but it’s crazy how Wong makes a tier list with Manon on the low end and opinion on her changes almost overnight. FGC is a damn hive mind. Manon is 100% better the Zangief, but they have the same exact perception problem. People see the 30% grabs and just assume the character is great when the real issues are everything happening in between those cash outs.

  23. Yeah Ken is one of the most well rounded characters in the game. I think the biggest thing that makes him strong is how easily he can corner you. It feels like any decent hit Ken can corner carry you half stage or he can do a side switch combo to turn the tables if he has his back to the wall. He also doesn’t need meter to do that stuff, which lets him conserve more for other things. This is on top of the fact that he has all the good SF6 tools. Cancelable low, multiple one hit confirms, light>medium link, meterless plus frames, a fireball, DP, etc. And unlike many other characters he can do that stuff with having to manage a resource or a complex move pool he’s just a regular ol shoto. I don’t feel comfortable saying he’s the best character in the game but he’s up there for sure. Only thing is that it you play Ken you gotta be ok with seeing the mirror match A LOT and pretty much the entire playerbase having tons of matchup experience lol.
