Imo neither of these characters needs a DP. Not only are these two of the most mobile characters in the game, but they are also the primary culprits of “I’m putting this item/attack on the screen to make you hold this offense. Blanka belongs here too tbh. In fact I think the distribution of reversals in this game is completely fucked and one of the biggest dividers between the have’s and have not’s. Like why do Ken and Luke, two of the most well rounded functions in the game, have DP’s AND the best level 1’s in the game? To me that should be and either/or situation. Meanwhile Gief has no DP, which is fine, but then no reversal level 1 and also a garbage tier level 2? C’mon now. JP gets a fully invincible counter that also grants full combo on hit and usually ends with the other guy full screen to deal with his zoning like??? Having a DP in this game is insanely strong you straight don’t have to deal with certain mixups. Yet the characters that have them are also the ones with the most sauce and the best supers make it make sense 😂

Capcom seems to think so so 🤷🏽‍♂️ If the DLC costs are too expensive and not selling they’ll lower the price to a more reasonable point, so really I don’t think it matters.

If you would’ve said this to me like 5 years ago I would’ve agreed. These days after playing COD, Apex, etc and seeing people rock $20 dollar skins 1 hour after the devs patch it in the game im convinced whales will buy pretty much anything regardless of price. To me it’s ridiculous but in my mind that shit just isn’t aimed at me. Capcom pays nerds a lot smarter than you or me to help them price their products. I used to hate it now I appreciate whales bank rolling my hobby.

You know now that you mention it…this is the third SF in a row where I initially picked a really good character then traded them in for someone much worse. SF4: Ibuki > Vega SFV: Cammy > Vega > Nash SF6: Ken > Manon If I pick a character in the first week and drop them immediately they’re probably good lol

Yeah tbh I only recall seeing it once but I figured I probably just overlooked some other instances lol. I’m sure at least some of the discrepancy is player preference but if I was Capcom the complete lack of drive reversal compared to people liberally burning meter for everything else would be eyebrow raising.

Is anyone else bothered by the lack of drive reversal at EVO? I didn’t watch every match over the weekend stream but i can count on one hand the amount of drive reversals I saw. People don’t use it even when there is 0 risk.
