  1. Humanity's priority list is definitely upside down. We're killing off our planet at a very solid pace and the only thing that comes out of it are politicians saying they're going to reduce emissions by a laughably small amount over a laughably long time period, which is the equivalent of someone deciding to not drive for a day per year and increase that quota by one day on a yearly basis. On the other hand if someone forgets to put an "s" in front of "he", everyone's getting out the pitchforks for a week. I know it's a bit apples and oranges but it seems like we keep making up new problems to distract from the real issues.
  2. I can see the point to be honest. There was some outrage against SEGA recently for doing the same thing and people pointed out that one of Sonic's initial messages (though possibly by coincidence) was the preservation of the environment by saving animals from Eggman's mechanical empire. And now SEGA plans on selling Sonic NFT pictures that suck up so much energy that you could play through the entire franchise on a 80" Plasma TV and still not have used as much. But as always with stuff like this, if you boycott the product, you're harming the little guys (= developers) first and foremost because those are the ones who are going to lose the job if something flops. It's a shitty situation and I wish we could just shoot those greedy corporate bastards on the moon as a one-way trip.
  3. Three placements in particular here make it very obvious that these guys regularly play against Itazan, Sako and Bonchan.
  4. Arcade Mode was just a waste of development resources. Every casual that was crying for two years for Capcom to include it wasn't going to pick it up by then anyway and probably just went on twitter to say "took you long enough, lolz, imma back to fortnite" or something. Actually, remove the "probably", that sounds super accurate. It's a shame you can't unlock all those cool illustration any other way then going through every route with every possible character.

  7. Well it's included in PS+ until August and since you need Plus to play online there's really no reason to buy it. Even if you don't continually subscribe to Plus you can just put it in your library and regain access once you renew the membership.
  8. I think that's also the reason why SFIV was (arguably?) more fun to watch. Even a character as universally despised as Fuerte instantly became a crowd magnet the moment someone actually picked him in a tournament. I remember all the hype about Pepeday, or when Infilitration counter-picked PR Balrog with Hakan, or Xian's famous switch from overused-top-tier Yun to extremely-strong-but-never-used Gen, or Valle beating Bonchan with Hugo etc. In SFV, if you watch a tournament and someone pops up with FANG, Falke or Blanka you might raise an eyebrow but then they just proceed to lose while doing the same stuff you've seen from replays on CFN already. It's just not the same.
  9. I haven't played SFIV since SFV came out but one thing I prefer (going by memory) is that it just felt a lot more snappy. I never bothered checking the frame data of this stuff but block and hitstun felt shorter in that game which made interactions feel more responsive. It was also easier to quickly react with a crouching heavy as an AA and I just preferred the overall movement of characters in that game. But that's just a preference thing. For example, 5 minutes into the Strive beta, I knew for sure I'd never play that game due to how movement works. Also, I wish my Pad didn't commit suicide a week ago, I'd really like to check out VF5 and see if I can remember more than three moves with Aoi. Not surprised the netcode is solid. People look at rollback like the holy grail of things but if you're sitting in Europe like me and everyone is close together anyway, the classic delay stuff can work just fine. The main problem here is just wifi I think, because back when consoles didn't have in-built wifi, delay-based FG didn't feel randomly bad from one match to the next.
  10. Yeah, I have no idea what the downplaying with Ibuki is about. That started like, what, a year or two ago but come on, if she has meter and a kunai on stock she basically gets in for free, her V-Skills are both extremely strong, she has really good neutral for such a mixup-heavy character archetype and if you can hit-confirm VT2 it's one of the best 2-bar triggers in the game.
  11. I think the upper half of that tierlist looks okay but it's really wild in the last three rows. As in, why are Ed and Kage so low, why is Falke lower than Rose (not saying Rose should be lower, but Falke should be higher) and why are people still sleeping on Dan?
  12. I'm mostly convinced you're joking but Kage simply means shadow in Japanese and that's probably as far as that thought went when they decided on a name. I mean I doubt everyone who calls their daughter "Ellen" in the US is aware that the word means "ugly" in my mother tongue. Edit: I think the bigger tragedy here is the loss of muscle mass.
  13. Jesus, Akira looks weird in this game. "Can you try looking stern, focused, serious and constipated at the same time?" "OSU!" At least Eileen looks like a human now and no longer like a rejected prototype from that Splice movie.
  14. Looks good. Arms could be bigger though, she looks like she'd struggle to lift 5kg.
  15. I have zero knowledge about KOF but after a quick glance over its wiki and asking Menat for help I came to the conclusion that this must be Foxy, a character I literally did not know existed just five minutes ago.
  16. Maybe it's a HP thing. Akuma's basic strategy is "kill before you get killed" due to his low life and V-Shift is de facto giving every character a couple more chances to do damage to him. I think the only other character with 900 life is Seth and you don't see him that much either outside of Twitter clips from Xian. But then again Cammy is everywhere and only has 25HP more.
  17. I don't even think that's the biggest problem. The issue is that this jump-in combo will corner the opponent because every BnB in this game does, at least from the middle of the stage. The corner is such a big momentum shift in this game and most zoners don't have an easy way out. Which is okay, that should be one of their weaknesses – but it's way too easy to put them there IMO. Just look at the Crimson/Idom set. I think Crimson was in the corner at least once per round and despite his ridiculously good defensive choices only ever got out with a huge life deficit despite using the one zoner in the game with arguably the best mobility. Now you can look at this and say "okay, it went down to the very last round between a zoner and a rushdown-grappler" and yes, that's true. But Crimson was doing wonders there with his clutch dash interruptions and overhead blocks. The effort of keeping Laura out is significantly higher than for her to get in. That said if stages were bigger in the current game with V-Shift available Dhalsim and Poison would probably be Triple-S tier or something. So I dunno, maybe the balance is good right now. Personally I just find it super frustrating if that dumb Ken player lands a jump-in and puts me in the corner just because I missed the AA against his 15th jump attempt or something. On the other hand, if you'Re that Ken player, it feels really rewarding getting that dumb jump-in and and turning momentum around completely. I know this because I've been there when I was playing Lucia, who literally has zero anti-fireball tools outside of jumps.
  18. Holy shit, good showing by Mr Crimson, I kind of expected Idom to beat him 5-0. It was pretty obvious to see how much V-Shift beenfits Dhalsim though. Definitely more than balances out the st.LP nerf.
  19. Boltstrike using his CA to trade with Rashid's CA and therefore avoiding the chip kill (since apparently one little hit from Rashid's Ca does less damage than it would on chip) was genius. Too bad he lost the set but what are you gonna do as Vega against a character who puts you in the corner just by existing?
  20. Interesting that Problem X switched from Abigail to Alex as his backup grappler due the the former's nerfs. Alex really feels strong right now and he still has that YOLO factor he's always relied on while being low tier.
  21. Ok, I opened the pad, nothing to lose anyway. The analogue stick sensors are welded onto the circuit board, so with my skills that's a no-go. Took out the battery and threw the entire thing away. Guess that's a god time to take a break, rose is frustrating to play anyway. Will buy a new pad when Oro or Akira come out or something, really don't feel like throwing money at Sony right now. I suppose I could look into Xbox One pad adapters as an alternative, if such a thing exists.
  22. Forgot to mention it's my second one already and I only have a PS4 since 2016. Meanwhile I bought my Xbox One in 2014 and am still using the same pad. Edit: I guess I could try switching both sticks? I have zero knowledge about these thing though and pretty sure not even the right screwdriver to get it open.
  23. My PS4 controller is randomly registering down-back inputs. So on P1 side it's straight up luck whether I block a jump-in or overhead whereas on P2 side I randomly whiff DPs from fullscreen when trying to throw fireballs or, worse, right in the opponent's face when I try to end a blockstring with one. Not to mention that it occasionally look like I'm teabagging at 200 inputs per second when moving to the left. The solution to this is of course just buying a new one but I hate rewarding Sony for just having the shittiest build quality for everything about PS4.
  24. I love how they made it a combo extension again like in SFIV. Now there's a second combo route after landing his target combo. Not sure if it's better than EX Spin Kick but at least there's something else to do with that guy/gal/thing. Edit: I see VF came up some posts ago. I'm okay with them being cautious about bringing it back and basically re-releasing VF5: FS, but I wish they'd upgrade the visuals a bit. Going by that tweet it look like the character models are basically untouched, which is a shame.
