  1. I am talking about reaction. So you either know one has come out or it hasn't. All things equal, if you have the ability to react and press DI or parry, it just seems like DI will ALWAYS give you a better return. Aside from the other suggestion that it is to get rid of bad habit (which I still don't really buy into), I still don't see the reason for it. There is clearly a reason though since they are doing it. I can't remember which match it was during SFL but someone lost today because they parried a DI when had they done a DI instead, they would have won. i specifically remeber watching it and thinking about why didn't they DI it.
  2. The Mario vs DK is pretty .... meh .... IMO. My son and I played the first 2 worlds, and we finished those in probably like 40 minutes. The game is just super easy and there is like zero challenge. My son was bored after like the first world but we kept playing. I think I heard there are only 8 worlds too so that means this game may barely push 3 hours to complete, which is pretty weak as well. Glad I only paid $30 for it.
  3. I get that for people at my level, but I don't think the pros have meter issues like nubs do. How is it safer? A reaction DI to a DI will be a punish counter and then you can land a big combo, pushing them closer to the corner, or getting out yourself.
  4. Does anyone know why a lot of the high level players will react to a DI with a parry instead of a DI? I've seen it quite a bit in this tournament and I've been noticing the drive bar and it happens even when they both have a lot of drive bar. I would think reacting with a punish counter DI would be the better play but there has to be a reason.
  5. I wonder if Phenom knowing he already had the first spot locked up played into his mental game at all.
  6. Apparently this tweeter doesn't know what left means lol.
  7. It's when you have ultra that it plays the music (which also coincides with low health in matches). But in actual training mode, most people have full meters all the time so you'd hear it all the damn time.
  8. Snagged this from QVC for $30 since my son said he wanted to play coop and I had never played the GBA version.
  9. Jesus I have PTSD from the training room music when you have ultra. That is probably THE worst music in any SF game in history. And the amount of times we heard that shit since all the pros always picked that shit so that made everyone else always pick that shit. So glad in SF6 you can disable stages.
  10. So I went from this... to this... AndI gotta say that it is MUCH harder than I expected it to be going from one button layout to another. I played a bit last night and in training mode things are quite gravy, but in a match, holy hell I feel totally handicapped. I think the main thing is that I'm not doing stuff reactionary when it comes to the parry and DI right now. Also going from 30mm, non offset buttons, to 24mm offset buttons, It just feels so different and I'm using different fingers to press different buttons. I'm also pressing up when I mean to press the black thumb button with my right thumb. Initially I had that set to parry and in a match I kept jumping when I was trying to parry or DRC, so I'm putting it back to DI instead. If I can't start to feel improvement with this layout after like a few sessions, I may go back to my original one even though I know it's not as ergonomic as the new one. I do think most of it is just muscle memory having to be relearned but I think I can do it. Just not being as quick as I thought it would be to transition is frustrating me and last night losing matches because of it was really annoying.
  11. I decided to switch up my custom layout to the more ergonomic 6gawd layout on my stick. I am hoping to get it swapped out tonight but may wait until tomorrow depending on time and stuff.
  12. James Chen be fucking up A LOT now a days. I noticed it in LCQ and he continued doing it again today in the first group he commentated.
  13. LMAO I was just in ranked and got one and done'd by this Ken that was Diamond 5 that I totally whooped. Then literally my next match, I faced this Cammy with a 14 game streak and I'm on a 7 streak. I beat him and then I one and done'd lol. My goal was to hit 22k tonight and I broke 22k against him and decided to call it a night. EDIT: And I've never even opened Battle Hub so I don't know what that is like.
  14. I wouldn't mind if they made the ranked "match" a best 2 out of 3, but that's not the way it is right now so I don't think there is anything wrong with one and done'ing. It's really not that big of a deal. I don't see why some people get so butt hurt over it. You will find your next opponent within seconds.
  15. Yeah I don't follow it too much to be honest, and I've seen him on Twitter and can see why people don't like his bluntness of his attitude, but I was watching his stream when he lost his Capcom Cup qualifier against that young guy, and he was not a sore loser in any way at all. He gave the guy compliments and stuff too.
  16. I know some people don't like Punk for reasons about his personality and shit, but dude definitely belongs in Capcom Cup based on his skill. His reactions are just unreal.
  17. Yah that sucks Tokido is out I was hoping for a Punk/Tokido GF.
  18. Blanka is just a lot of fun to watch to me. I find him annoying as hell to play against because he's basically pure shenanigans and something about his combo animations look a bit clunky, but I will still admit he is fun to watch. I think he's fun to watch because he's just so different to watch than the other characters.
  19. Yeah that pool was boring as shit and dumb to watch.
  20. JP's level 2 is just such a stupid move. Literally every time it's used, it hits the opponent. I mean these pro players can't even defend themselves in the LCQ when it's activated. Just the dumbest move in the game.
  21. LMAO I never play during the day cause of work but had some downtime beforeI had to pick up my son from school. And MF's wanna rage quit casuals now lol. This Dhalsim player matched up with me and he had a 3 win streak and he beat me fair and square 2-0 in our first match. Then he quit so he one and done me in casual. Then I placed a Rashid and he left after I won 2 in a row against him. Next match I get I match up again with the Dhalsim again. As you can see, he has a 4 win streak now so I was his next match after he one and done me. Well, this is how it played out...
  22. I mocked up some USPS Priority Mail Hitbox's to see if I like the 6gawd layout. I think I am going to go with the 24mm layout. The way my hand rests and have access to all 8 buttons without having to move my hand at all seems like it will make reacting to DI's and stuff ever so slightly quicker, which can be the difference between eating a DI or not in this game. The 30mm layout feels good too, but I either have to stretch my pink to hit the right button or my thumb to get the right thumb button. I am just so used to 30mm buttons for attack but the 24mm version of this just fits like a glove. I just wish I had some spare guts so I could wire this up. I don't feel like gutting my main stick right now just to play with this layout.
  23. I've tried the smaller buttons before for like 2 months before I put my own layout together with 30mm buttons. I like my buttons and size but it's more the layout where I find myself moving my hand too much sometimes and those missed milliseconds cost me like missing a reaction DI or something. That's partially why I'm looking at the 6gawd layout because it's designed with your thumb sitting over a button in mind. My buddy is going to send me a bunch of buttons though so I'm going to make cardboard cutouts on USPS boxes with actual buttons on them in the different layouts I wanna try out and if I like one more just from feel, I'm going to order a panel for my controller in that style panel and replace my current one. I still love my current one don't get me wrong, but I honestly think it is holding me back slightly due to just missing stuff sometimes.
  24. You can see in the image below. I'm specifically wondering about the leverless layout, because the right thumb button is bottom right compared to the joystick version.
