  1. street fighter cartoon needs also a beat em up game haha
  2. reading the thread with various topics, i just realize with all of this drones and ai advancing, a future of gundam, robotech and other japanese's giant mecha having pilots is unlikely to happen. looks like 30 years from now that robot mech genre would fall into retrofuturism category the future of robot and war robot is more like transformers. I wonder how the next advancement would be on transportation either flying cars or flying pods? since ai is now integral to almost everything especially we are now venturing to self driving cars
  3. that kinda remind me of something in a different forum that i posted also I kinda wanted a "single player mode" that in metro city you'll visit HAGGAR's MAYOR office and the variety of the scenes is kinda inspired by FF games intro and he will give you a task/mission to fight MAD GEAR that is going into RIOTs where he ask you to go in a certain place in metro city and beat thugs. Either Haggar will get interrupted by 1. A television interruption and sent you to the said info that came from a mad gear leader on TV like FF1, or it appears as a newsflash 2. Or see an explosion in the window like FF3 3. You getting a phone call from mike haggar like in FF2 just like in Final Fight games intro,
  4. yup the ST revival, what i mean by that is normies in the darkage cared more of A3 over SF2 regardless in PSP, PS2 and GBA. in fact HDRemix project as first choice was even A3 but because of it's most tedious and costly they went with ST to be Remixed So I think A3 was more akin to FF7 as for popularity to normies while SF2 was more than FF7, I feel it's an understate to SF2 achievement and influence to compare it with FF7 . FF3 was the one that revolutionize FF series identity. while SF2 is both greater than FF3 and FF7 because SF2 not just only revolutionize it's series nor the FG genre but the whole Arcade Culture and the gaming scene to be more PVP oriented. SF2 is more comparable to Doom not FF7, that made a template and spawned clones. https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2017/jan/16/did-you-know-capcom-wanted-do-alpha-3-instead-hd-remix-they-scrapped-2500-animation-frames-development/ https://www.videogamer.com/features/exclusive-rebalancing-street-fighter-2-hd-remix-3/ Capcom really wanted Alpha 3. That’s not seen as a good tournament game. And also even if you wanted to do Alpha 3 the number of characters are so large that it’s an even bigger project. Alpha 2 characters are sub set so it just makes sense to do Alpha 2 first and then do Alpha 3 second, if you really wanted to get to Alpha 3. They also wanted to do 3rd Strike but 3rd Strike has a lot of animation. It has maybe three times as much and you saw how much of a struggle it was to even finish HD Remix. VideoGamer.com: So why did Capcom want to do Alpha 3? DS: They just really liked Alpha 3! It has all these different versions, and it’s been ported to PSP, and Anniversary Collection, every time they add some new features to it and add some new characters to it. I don’t know, I guess they think it sells well. Maybe the really casual crowd likes that game but it’s mostly rejected by the hardcore crowd. So anyway there’s all these different possibilities of what to do. I said my advice is to start with Super Turbo because it’s the first in a progression, it’s a good game and I know a lot about it so I’m going to be the most effective on that one. And they did. VideoGamer.com: So when were you told you had the green light from Capcom? DS: I really don’t remember. It would have been a few months before we first announced Puzzle Fighter (April 2007).
  5. looks like his still floating in that *drive* capsule hopefull he'll get something new and better now.
  6. I have this for years now except for years now. I always wanted a story brief about how the switching of name happens in a NARRATIVE way. I have posted some bits of this in SRK by playing with perspective, but I have figure out in the pandemic. starting with Balrog and Mike which I posted in different forum. by making it a mistake on reports and data among the Shadaloo Henchman that have barely information, because they operate in secret and in the shadows thus confusing them and data about there documented profile in the 80s and 90s were un refined Almost of their mission are either assassination of someone that is an obstacle to Shadaloo's goal, that making the info about them before alpha timeline are only known through gathered from either far distance or just glimpses of them or what's left in the scene. kinda like how myth and legends are told similar to the JACK THE RIPPER because the WITNESS that had glimpse of them were survivors but weren't their TARGET. Everything known about JACK THE RIPPER were mostly speculation Since this was after and before Alpha not when they became seen and expose to the rest of the cast like Chunli, Nash and Guile. The story takes place aftermath of Alpha during Bison first defeat. it start of Boxer reminiscing his past and the days he got into Shadaloo without knowing his past life as Mike. While him now declaring himself as the new big leader of the Shadaloo during Dictator's recovery and absence after he got obliterated in Alpha That Boxer quicky rise to ranks and became henchman thag Dictator can rely into more than Claw that is selective of his missions. Boxer story took place After SF1 Boxer first mission and when he became finally a high ranking henchman of Shadaloo because of Claw being unreliable. Before SFAlpha Boxer ruling of Shadaloo for a brief period, because Bison is obliterated in Alpha. After SFAlpha. Dictators new Body CCTV footage. Before SF2 took place. Some kind of a short story named SHADALOO RISING. its something I have been thinking for along period of time but i haven't had tools to do it. the backstory Boxer and Claw and how the mistake happened on switching names that the mistake was from them being like how jack the ripper is perceive and the lack of basis regarding their identities.
  7. FF3 was even the best turn based JRPG REVOLUTION of FF that many of its gameplay mechanics became something a staple and made it standout as a brand identity compare to other JRPG turnbased back in the day.
  8. your right, and my point was the SF enthusiast or SF normies in darkage where a3 beats sf2. thats the tons of people that populate Capcom BBS/Capcom Unity forum would talks about. Sf2 was a household name and a popculture and also revolutionize the genre that cannot be change. but for those normies in the FGC darkage everyone would point out A3 is the best SF ever made thats why in the darkage A3 gets more versions not just ordinary ports than SF2, And every A3 version trumps over every Sf2 ports in popularity and attention in FGC darkage. upper, doubleupper and max while hsf2 no sf enthusiast cared on it in the darkage. SF4 change the perception that to judge a better SF game to normies isnt just about character and content but also the feel.
  9. yes it was before A3 take over, and it stopped during the darkage that in 98 to 2006 no normies cared much with SF2 that much anymore to normies. HSF2 was a dead game to SF normies it wasnt even release on PSP nor released on virtual console if USF2 didnt have those edge lord characters SF normies wouldnt care on it. those guys arent into competitive or 1:1 perfect ports those are into content and tons of characters. the aftermath of fgc darkage is when SF2 gets a bit of love again from SF normies but if there is simultenous released of A3 with new modes and sf2 new modes in nintendo switch while needing to choose one over the other. many normies would go for A3.
