  1. On that note, I'd also like to wish you all a very happy new year. This community within a community has been a part of my life for almost 20 years. To many more together. ❤️
  2. Now if only I can convince him that SF2 and SFA3 have been retconned into the same series of events by SF4, we'd be best friends. Our combined love for Lord Vega would be unstoppable! ❤️
  3. http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/arcade/c/sfa3ryu19.gif http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/arcade/c/sfa3ryu20.gif http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/arcade/c/sfa3ryu21.gif I don't think it was dropped. It evolved into a two-way thing between Bison and Ryu. Initially at least, Ryu on some level sought Bison for answers and Bison sought Ryu out of a curiosity. By the time of SF4 (after A3/SF2), Bison wanted to see the evolution of Ryu's power and ultimately stopped Seth not because Seth was insubordinate but because he was interfering with Ryu's evolution as a fighter by trying to capture him and subjugate him (see Bison's SF4 ending where he tells Seth about his "plan"). Ironically, after SFA3/SF2, Akuma still wanted Ryu to give in to SNH but Bison just wanted Ryu to become the strongest version of himself and to see to it that it comes to fruition with a little push. Bison wasn't sure if Ryu was going to become SNH or MNK through the obstacle that is Necalli, but the end result if he survived would suit his appetites nevertheless.
  4. He's reductive af. Literally discount Ed who is already the bastard child of Bison and Balrog. Is this what appeals to the "New Generation" of FGC players? Am I getting too old? If SF6 is going to end up being a game of Knockoffs served up as "Students, Apprentices, and Offspring" of older more valuable IPs then we are in for a shitshow. SF5 struck the perfect balance in its roster of characters, with only very few misses. Luke, Lucia, and to a lesser extent Necalli (more because of execution than concept) are the ones that immediately spring to mind.
  5. Agreed. I don't think Bison should be the big bad of a game for at least 2 entries. Then would be his big come back, after some character development. Our point of contention is how long we should wait. With this new model of story telling, where the story can take place over years as seen in SF5, I see no reason why Bison could not re-emerge as his own in later seasons.
  6. Yeah thank god for another Blonde MMA Fighter. So original. Sheer genius. Oh and his daddy died. Wow. Never seen that before in SF. Gimme Ryu anyday of the week.
  7. A lot of SF characters have been overutilized and bodied a whole bunch. Why are you not extending this argument to Chun-Li or Ryu or Ken or Akuma or Guile? Cervantes has been in pretty much every Soul game and nobody is complaining. It's one thing thing to be the main villain of the plot (or franchise really), and another to be a character in the game with your own story. Bison has only experienced the latter in Dream Matches and to a lesser extent SF4 (but not really). Don't mixup what is being suggested here. If Capcom are willing to sideline their series protagonist (Ryu) in a game just to keep them playable in favor of some new flavor of the month (Alex, Abel, Rashid, Luke, etc) , then logically they can do the same for the series antagonist.
  8. These characters are nobodies! NOBODIES YA HEAR?! Bison is a fucking icon of the genre. When they make limited edition statues selling for $1000 of him, they sell like frickin hotcakes. The Shadaloo Army, who make up a significant portion of the FGC, will not stand for this. My lawyers will be in touch with you. Few people here love SF's shitty-ass but charming canon as much as I do, but this isn't about story. This about keeping good characters playable in the game for their fanbase. In this case, fuck the canon. No one wants reductive knock-offs of legacy characters replacing the OGs. It never works (See Star Wars Sequel Trilogy) and it never will.
  9. Bison used Necalli to accelerate it. Literally, Necalli is Bison's "plot device" in SF5. He even spells it out to you. Yeah, no. You see, I can't wait til SF7 to play Bison again, I'll be in my early-mid 40s by then. Time is a bitch. Sure I'll probably play him then still, with great glee and enthusiasm, but I would rather just do it in SF6. They can leave him out for a season or several like Akuma/Gill. That will give you Bison haters 2-3 years of breathing room before you ultimately succumb to his charms again.
  10. Some musings/predictions on SF6 and Bison: 1- If Rose realizes that the world is gonna end anyway even if Bison is "destroyed", that means Bison knew it too. In fact he probably knew it before her and planned for it. 2- Bison anchoring his spirit into many horcruxes (I think the Udon comics did this but with the dolls instead of Neo-Shadaloo) to ensure a foothold in the physical plane and inevitable resurrection is pretty obvious, at least with Ed and Falke. But in light of the recent tweets and point #1, he probably did it as part of a Plan A rather than a Plan B. 3- Plan A is a response to Ryu's question to Bison at the end of SF5 after defeating him, "Is this the power you seek?". The answer is Yes Ryu, Bison sought to invoke, see, understand, and experience MNK firsthand which according to Oro's Character Story in SF5 is the only thing that can truly rival Bison's power. Bison has all the time in the world, his laughter at the end of SF5 while his body disintegrated is one of pure joy. Bison succeeded in inspiring Ryu to awaken his true power and test it head on. By accelerating Ryu's awakening and pushing him to become stronger, Bison will also propel himself towards becoming the best version of himself ever. Everything else in the story is literally secondary to this one thing, hence why he chilled in base throughout SF5. Now we wait patiently for Bison's return as a season 1 or 2 DLC in SF6. It will be glorious. SPECTACULAR EVEN. The best thing since cheese sandwiches. That man deserves to rule the world. And that my loves, is your dose of Psycho Love for the month. Miss you all ❤️
  11. They already did. It's called the Viper Aftermath video. It's been years beating on this dead horse, get over it.
  12. That depends on how you define as evil. Death is a mercy. Bison doesn't want people to die, he wants them to live in perpetual misery and fear so he can siphon their energy to grow his. For Bison killing -if it must come to that- is the means to an end, but he would sooner let people live knowing they would be haunted by him for the rest of their life. Let's say hypothetically Bison won SF5. All the Black Moons went off, and the world descended into a post-apocalyptic and disorderly mess. Bison would have become an immortal god in this world, unstoppable as he fed off the despair of millions or even billions of people. By comparison, Rugal is just insane. Bison next to him is Satan. He turns people in Rugals in the pursuit of his ambitions. He appreciates and even recruits the Rugals of the world because they extend his dominion by default by spreading the cancer of fear and hate. Rugal is a pawn in Bison's world.
  13. Bison never lies. I know some of you clowns think that Bison is or should be gone for good, but search your feelings.... You know the truth... The nightmare will never end! And all your Gs, Gills, Seths, and Akumas will forever reside in his shadow.
  14. No that final fight that concluded with Bison initiating his and his entire base's self destruction is the canonical ending to SF2 (and SFA3 because they overlap in the timeline) that preceded the first events of SF4 by 6 months.
  15. Nash's Z2 ending was retconned in the cinematic story and character story. Which are LIVE canon unfolding before our eyes. The Arcade endings presented in SF5 are what ifs. Akuma never laid ONE FINGER on Bison! They don't know even know one another!
  16. Bison knew everything. That's why he was so chill throughout the game. Calm, and confident in his foresight. He 'died' laughing on his feet for a reason.
  17. Rose says that Fate is a fixed line. Unless Rose's "fate" is to be part of a time loop, she is dabbling into the realm of Psycho Power by trying to change that which is inevitable. Whatever the case, Bison is already several steps ahead of her as usual. I'd wager that if Rose indulges this time loop, that it is a deception he is pulling on her ass to ensure his plan succeeds next time around. Not that he needs her at all to return to the physical plane this time but she fell for it before...
  18. All the events of SF2/A3 took place over a period of time. SF3 took place over 2 years. SF4 took place over 18 months. SF5 also took place over 1-2 years. Cammy could've been Killer Bee at the start of A3/SF2 and became Delta Red towards the end just in time for the final battle portrayed in the Viper Aftermath OVA.
  19. Yeah no. Most recent game canon > everything else, especially if the latter contradicts the former. Unless the game explicitly mentions this, it will never be canon. Just like G is NOT the final boss of SF5.
  20. That was SF4. In SF5, enough time passed that Bison's SF5 form is peak. There was no SF2 body arguably. Bison had 2 bodies in the canon. Original/First known - Alpha (Destroyed in SFA3/SF2) Second Body - SF4/SF5 (Destroyed at the end of SF5) You could make an argument that he had a third body that was incapacitated by his first encounter with Rose in Alpha, and this triggered the entire cloning program that lead to Cammy, the Dolls, etc. in SFA3/SF2/SF4.
  21. His SF5 body can withstand the full extent of his power, and it is his most powerful form canonically (even though the game failed to show this in the final battle ala A3). This is why Bison isn't interested in possessing Ryu anymore in SF5 like he was years ago in A3. What he was interested in is understanding the power within Ryu that could rival his own and give him the "ultimate battle". In A3 and subsequently SF4, Bison discovered and took a keen interest in the power that was unlocked within Ryu and monitored his progress until SF5 when both were finally ready to fight. Bison went as far as expediting Ryu's awakening through Necalli just for this climactic event. Progressively Bison has only gotten stronger from his first known appearance, and Nash even comments on this in SF5.
