  1. Not necessarily. Bison's tendrils are all over this universe. He can appear out of nowhere. I just want him to playable tbh. They don't have to involve him too directly into the story as that would dull his shine, but I don't think he is just a "function" - my biases - He legit has a lot of fans/players. I think the same can be said about most of the original 12 and the rare few from the later games that graduated to their level (but aside from Akuma never really achieving the same level of recognition). And this is indulgent of me, but I'd like to know that many of the SF2 characters are taken care of and reintroduced to a new generation. Seeing them in next gen graphics and systems is a sure way of doing it.
  2. In terms of story, I hope we get a conclusion to the Illuminati arc (unless Urien's 3S ending was that conclusion and the start of the age of Urien?). As awesome as G is, he's a fucking wacko youtuber. Is this really the main villain? He doesn't give off these vibes, at least not in his current presentation which admittedly is likely a facade to dupe and deceive people. Also, if they would be so kind as to end the Neo-Shadaloo plot quickly, and put Ed/Falke out of their misery. These plot devices are boring already, do we really need to dedicate more resources to the entire crew? (Imagine Knife or that Gorilla in these sub-photorealistic graphics LOL). We know where this B or C plotline leads, and it's right back to the source!!!! Anyway: 60-40 Old to new is a good launch ratio.
  3. Fair point. 🙂 I also looked at the sales of DBZ (the FG) and it actually outsold SF5 by almost 2 million. But MK11 sold 12 million (twice as many as SF5). Granted SF5's reputation was marred by a terrible launch that it is a miracle that it clawed its way out this far and this well. So really if SF6 is gonna try to emulate anyone to increase sales, going more anime has its merits and with the way Capcom excels at animating characters it would probably be jaw-dropping. I'm hoping that they try steer the ship this way from now until Summer because everyone already saw RE's photorealistic capabilities, their undeniable fidelity and beauty but can they do Street Fighter with its legacy of 2D art justice? I think it's worth a shot. Less pores and more brush strokes.
  4. I think if the logo survives the Summer reveal, my concerns for this project will crystallize. As a person who's been working in branding for almost 13 years, I can tell you that no rational company would allow a logo like that to go public. Even if it was a placeholder, this is a big NO-NO. Absolutely embarrassing and they need to rectify it as soon as possible. My other concern about realism is that it simply does not age very well. Every SF game, including 4 and 5 have somewhat retained some of their charm from release over the years and that is precisely because they are NOT photorealistic. Turning SF characters into Tekken-style characters is a novelty and should be reserved for Deviantart. Having said that, I also don't think SF (from a marketing standpoint) should try to look like GG, it needs to do its own thing like in SF4 and SF5, but keep refining it and improving it because it is 100% unique to them. Please note, that I would love nothing more than an SF game that animates and looks like the SF2 Animated Movie, but I don't think this will happen unless there is a GG/SF cross over and it is made by Arc.
  5. SF6's proportions so far look like SF5 but more refined. So they definitely stuck by the that art style but upgrading it to the next level or two. I don't mind this part at all as I think SF5 is one of the best looking entries in the series (except a few outliers that we all know about). The textures, lighting, sweat, pores, this is the stuff that is a little off-putting for a long time fan for the series. Bodily fluids in 3D like that look too MK for me.
  6. He looks like very much like Gouken around the time that Gouki left home the first time (before he killed Goutetsu). But hotter.
  7. Ryu Chun-Li Luke Ed Cammy Gief Dudley/Fei Long Q Urien Akuma Viper Rose NEW NEW NEW NEW S1 = The characters that are part of the main story and should've been in the launch game but here they are 6 months later. (e.g. G, Ken, Oro, Guile, Alex, Gill, etc.) S2 = The characters we really wanted to put in the game and you wanted them too but they had to wait so we can get the previous shit out of our system (E.g. Bison, Vega, Balrog, Sagat etc.) S3-S6 = We're gonna gonna wing it and hope for the best! We don't even know what comes after 6 so who cares?!
  8. for sure, my man is THICC! hE iS rEaDy tO bEcOmE a hOsT BoDy NoW pLeAsE!!!! ❤️
  9. I literally just want Bison, and something that plays closer to Alpha 2 or 3. Or CvS2. I also really enjoyed SF5 between S2/3 and now, and rank it highly. I also enjoyed SF4 on and off til the end. I roll with the punches as much as I can. But you will give me Dic or else. (I would've preferred they just went something more artistic with less pores and sweat though).
  10. According to Oro's ending, Ryu will need 15 years to be ready to fight him/be a master in his own right etc., and I doubt SF6 takes place 15 years after 3S. So at best this is probably Ryu at the start of his Journey with Oro or they scratched that plot point. This is NOT Post-Oro Ryu IMO.
  11. It's been confirmed to be in-game footage. That's why they released the trailer in 4K and there is a notice at the end that it is still in development.
  12. Those are fair concerns and all, but none of them are arguments against him being playable in the game. He is one of the most popular, recognizable, and played SF characters ever (but specifically also this last era), no point in squandering this. Besides if everyone else gets to look like shit this time around in the RE Engine, then by god Bison will too!
  13. If this game takes place 3-5 years after 3S it means Bison would've been MIA for about 5-7 years from an in-universe perspective. That is a lot of time that passed, more than enough for us to begin seeing the shadow, once it tatters, reknitting. I have an uncle who works in Capcom that just confirmed that Bison is the launch character of S2 DLC. 2024 will be the year!
  14. You leave us and his beautiful beard alone! YOU UNDERSTAND? It's the ONLY thing they got right in this trailer and that's Ryu's look.
  15. omg! how could the marketing get it so wrong on a triple A project like this!!!!!
  16. Truly hideous. This cannot be the ingame design route. It is the most Unstreet Fighter looking game. It's like Street Fighter 2 The Movie The Game is being remade in 2022.
  17. Well, for better or worse it seems like we finally made it past SF3. Congratulations everyone who has been waiting with me since the 90s. WE DID IT! Now give me Final Shin Bison II so we can flush this turd Luke down the toilet. The plot of SF6 should revolve around a DEADLY ALLIANCE between Ryu and Bison where they simultaneously push the flush button together to rid the universe of Luke forever.
  18. Key takeaways: 1- Ryu is hot as fuck. 2- Luke hurt my eyes, where is my Chun-li? 3- I hope the "realism" is toned down for the actual game. 4- The logo is the worst Street Fighter logo in the history of the franchise. 5- I think I heard Bison in the background saying "I'm back you maggots! hahahahaha!". In fact, I am certain.
  19. This is essentially my opinion as well. In Game: Overall, it's gorgeous. I love most of the redesigns. There are about half a dozen outliers, and some stages suffer from bad lighting and poor detail, but it's a step forward from its predecessor in almost every way. It's also a step closer to SF2 Animated Movie - The Gold Standard we should be striving for in an SF Game. Art Work: Mostly subpar or cheap. The Arcade Endings are cool though.
  20. He's the reason why Rose is the "Good half of Bison's Soul". Among a great many other fallacies and mistranslations that were spread undisputed for so long in the Pre-Youtube/Wiki/Social Media Dark Age that they actually made it into the Expanded Universe (Udon, Chun-Li Movie) etc. Were it not for the combined effort of all the peoples of SRK, Sauron Vas would never have been vanquished!
