  1. I love this so much. I wonder what the story is behind this because this looks so precious.
  2. I do think Chun's quote to Ryu is the most intriguing, and hope Capcom expands on this in game or some other canon media piece.
  3. Nice You mean winquotes from SF6? RYU To Chun-Li: "We've known each other for so long, yet I still learn something new every time we fight." To jamie: "Drunken Boxing might be a tricky fighting style, but I can tell you're honest at heart." To Luke: "Your fists show you the path forward. I see my younger self in you." To Ryu (Mirror): "No matter how far I come, the one I must face... is myself." CHUN-LI To Luke: "You may possess raw power, but you lack refinement. You've still got a long way to go." To Ryu: "The more I think about it, the more I feel like it was you who brought out my true strength." LUKE To Chun-Li: "Those kicks pack some serious oomph! One solid hit and it could've been lights out."' To Jamie: "Heh! And that's a win for me. Got anything to say, pretty boy?"' JAMIE To Chun-Li: "Yo, it's an honor! Thanks for helpin' me train!" To Luke: "Next time ya see me, be sure t o put some respect on my name. Got it, meathead?"' To Ryu: "Pretty by the book, eh? Not bad, but I guess you weren't able to keep up with yours truly."
  4. I think the SF6 cast just might be cameos to featured characters in World Tour. I get the feeling Luke will be the Player's main teacher/guide in world tour. And probably each fighter will teach the player something new or maybe open up a small bit of their story to them. But since the focus is on the player, the SF6 cast probably won't be as heavily involved in World Tour mode and its ongoing "plot" I'm thinking along the lines of Mortal Kombat where a bunch of random stuff happens, like droppable items that restore health or temporary invincibility. Or maybe some party mini games, like who can destroy the Car the fastest, of who can parry the most basketballs, or some other goodies outside of fighting games like a quiz, or revamped puzzle fighter? Also some more HiFight observations about Drive Rush
  5. Modes Confirmed + Some (ENG) Move Lists of the 4 playable characters Looks like Story Mode is tied to Arcade mode, so instead of one giant cinematic, I think we'll get a classic arcade mode sprinkled with cutscenes. Probably a little bit more narratively driven than previous SF Arcade modes with just a Prologue, Cutscene, and Ending

  7. Chun-Li combos and tidbits that I noticed. Chun vs Ryu 1:11: cr.lp (CH), cr.lk, LK SBK 1:25: Drive Impact Will cause crumple when Punish Countered. Ryu crumpled after a DP Drive Impact punish, so essentially, DP Crush Counters are back 1:46: Drive Impact wall splat will not deal dmg. But Drive Imacting a Wall Splat will end combo 2:26: cr.lk, cr.lp, st.lp, LK/MK Legs 2:30: 3rd stomp will send opponent back to the ground, so no 3x stomps > EX Legs anymore Chun-Li vs Ryu 2 3:12: air-to-air: stomp, stomp, OD Legs 3:18: Drive Impact (PC), stance HK, Stomp, Stomp, OD Legs 3:28: stomp, stomp, LK/MK Air Legs 3:58: Again, 3rd stomp will send opponent back to the ground 4:10: cr.mk (CH), LK SBK 4:13: bk.hp (PC), stance HK, jump, stomp, stomp, OD Air Legs 5:07: Stance MP has LOOOOOONG range and causes knockback. Possibly one of Chun's go-to anti-zoner/fireball tools? Chun-Li vs Ryu 3 5:51: j.mk, cr.lp, cr.lp, LK Legs 6:11: cr.lp (PC), cr.mk. (couldn't finish combo but possible confirm into Legs or SBK
  8. I'd say this a big deal, but then again, I'm sure M. Bison had a lot more Shadaloo bases than the one seen in SFV. Man is a freaking dictator and has prime real estate lined up. So one base being turned into a Battle Hub for FGC nerds is like... meh.
  9. Sound like Ryu is the muscle of a crew that plans to rob Las Vegas on a fight night.
  10. Not to mention that Chun-Li's father, in addition to working as a cop, was also one of her instructor figures in teaching her kung fu (as well as Gen). In a way, Chun-Li becoming an instructor and a mother fulfills the two parental roles that Chun had growing up: Since we know very little of Chun-Li's mother, and at best, we can assume she passed away at a young age, and Chun-Li's father being a dad and a teacher to Chun when she's at home, since he very well can't bring his work into his home. Chun-Li is becoming the mother she never had, and when she is no longer pursueing her father's killer, she continues to honor his memory by becoming exactly what he was to Chun-Li when she was growing up: a parent and a teacher. And that is an incredible way to continue to honor her parents and have her character go forward in life. Yes. I didn't notice it at first glance. But great observation. Li-Fen is also older, so the longer she's been with Chun-Li, the more she (or Chun) probably realizes that Chun-Li can baby her anymore. She can't hold her hand every lesson, and in order for her to improve (and have her kung fu potentially save a life one day, maybe hers), Chun will have to go serious when teaching her. Of course, Chun isn't like that 24/7. in her bio, she enjoys shopping with Li-Fen as well as days off to relax. So she has time in her day to have fun, show off that smile, loving, and motherly side. (Hell on the P2 side of the VS Walk-In cinematics, she's waving and smiling). But great observation of her demeanor in the trailer. She's obviously stern, and less "Gomen ne" fun. But she does well to not hurt who she's teaching, even hilariously booping Li-Fen in the back of her head with her foot. A kick that would easily kill if Chun was swinging at full force to the back of someone's head.
  11. Wasn't Chun-Li still a cop in 3rd Strike, and only AFTER rescuing Li-Fen was when she decided to make a career change? It's not official, but the first screen of her ending, you can see cop cars on the scene with Chun-Li and Li-Fen. So it's not wrong to assume that Chun-Li was still working with Law Enforcement well after the fall of Shadaloo and adopting Li-Fen. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/streetfighter/images/6/6d/SFIII_3S-Chun-Li_Ending-1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20191220015909 Yes, joining Interpol was indeed for personal reason: not just trying to take down M. Bison and Shadaloo, but to honor and follow in her father's footsteps as well. I doubt Chun-Li was in a rush to call it quits after Shadaloo was destroyed. (I know she explores other jobs and travels in her SFIV Aftermath trailer, canonicity withstanding). She's always in a hurry to don her Qipao and deliver swift justice, but def has a soft spot for kids. Not just with Li-Fen, but you saw her let her guard down when fighting Juri in the Juri OVA. Also, who knows what was going through her mind when watching Ken and Mel play in the ASF Story mode. I def feel Li-Fen had a big influence on the career change, rather than the fall of M. Bison. Remember that she didn't start teaching Kung Fu until after she rescued her from Urien. She was probably giving Li-Fen some private lessons after her SFV Character story, but after spending time with her and realizing how important she is to her was when she wanted to quit police work and become a teacher. At least, that's how I interpreted it. I always associate Chun-Li's default Qipao with her job with Interpol. Since she's worn in from SF2-SF3, I assume she's always kept that career. And it wasn't until SF6 when she made a change in her wardrobe and fully commited to her new role in life.
  12. Yeah. Good thing we have an option to turn it off. (I know when I get the game, that's the first thing Im gonna do). I see why the implemented it. Most Sports games have real commentators like the NBA2k and Madden games. I think they def implemented it for the new players to have an expert guide them into what they should do next, but also to give it the feel and legitimacy for SF being an esport to be taken seriously (despite fighting games being niche)
  13. LOVE that they are bringing battle damage back. It's not as graphic as Mortal Kombat. And I think the SFII and SFIII Win/Loss screens look more damaged. But it's a great visual layer to add to the game that makes it feel that your fighter was in a scrap, even though you won the fight. I love how committed SF6 is to this realism.
  14. It's a small thing. But it really does add another layer to the fights and makes it feel like they were really in a scrap. I'm so glad they're bringing this back. Has been a while, probably since SFIII victory screens.
