  1. While this is true, it was clear since D2 that Blizzard viewed Diablo as a mainly multiplayer experience. They patched the multiplayer version of the game for years, adding new patches and features. D3 was the natural extension of this philosophy, with the complete removal of offline mode. For better or worse, D3 and to a large extent D2 was mainly meant to be played online. You could of course play alone, but it was a lot like soloing in an MMO. Unfortunately, no popular/anticipated online game can escape server problems on launch. The console versions of D3 can only get away with having an offline mode because the majority of players can't get to the game's files and modify them. The benefits of a closed system (console) vs PC.
  2. Diablo 2 had two modes: offline and online. Offline characters were stored on your PC, while online characters were stored server-side, just like an MMO. You could not take your offline character into the online mode. The only way to do so was use 'open' battle.net or LAN games, which nobody did. Offline characters were notoriously easy to edit/modify, so in practice pretty much everyone played the game in online mode only. The big fuss over Diablo 3 requiring an internet connection was stupid because in practice everyone who played D2 seriously already required an internet connection anyway.
  3. I don't care if it's online only, since D2 online was the only version I cared about to begin with. To me Diablo has always been an online game, just like MMOs are. I have a good internet connection and don't care about playing on the go, so quite frankly it's a non-issue for me.
  4. If you're Pro member at Gamestop they have a pretty decent sale going on this weekend.
  5. How does Grim Dawn compare to say, Path of Exile? Looking into a Diablo style game to get into.
  6. Probably want to keep it fighting game related since i am toying with the idea of making a simple site to go with the forums. Since this place didn't catch on as the replacement for that place as intended, might as well develop a separate identity now. Thanks for the name suggestions guys. I'll think about it and see what I come up with. Gotta do catch-up for work since I've been gone for a while, but once that's out of the way expect the branding change to come relatively soon!
  7. Alright boys it's time for a rebranding. Post any name suggestions you may have for this place here.
  8. Wow that's pretty impressive. You guys are going all in...
  9. 11/03/18: Just got back from vacation last night. Fixed some more layout bugs
  10. Traveled the silk road in China, then visited Taiwan and Hong Kong to relax afterwards. I used to live in Hong Kong and enjoy visiting all the toy stores. 👍
  11. Just got back. I should buy the game on PC and PS4, but I have a brand new XBO-X and it seems a waste to play it on the inferior PS4... Wish it had crossplay so I wouldn't have to worry about such things. 🙁
  12. I saw a pretty ginormous Megatron in Hong Kong the other day. I wasn't aware they made Transformers figures that big. Box was like 2 feet tall. Too bad I don't have room for that kind of thing.
  13. Megatron has been playing FF8. I approve.
  14. I'll be going on vacation for a month. Be back early November. Everyone behave yourselves/pimp this place while I'm gone. ❤️
  15. The silver age was a hell of a time...
  16. SF characters are for the most part late 80s cultural stereotypes. They are shallow as hell and everyone loves them simply because they're old. KOF/SNK characters are mostly original concepts and so they tend to be more interesting. They've certainly aged much better.
  17. Not going to get into this too much but just want to point out that a lot of the things you are saying only apply to Western first-world countries. There are still lots of places on Earth where these things don't apply.
