  1. I really don't think FANG is playing Bison. He's really that into him as he lets on. There would be no reason to go along with the Black Moons, since these would make Bison entirely unstoppable by the SS or anyone else. The operation also didn't fail by any fault of his. It was a storm of events that lined uo which ultimately lead to this outcome: Gill working from the shadows, Karin actually putting together the freaking Avengers and Ryu mastering Mu no Ken just in time. Thing were pretty close even so. If Nash hadn't been brought back to absorb some of the power Bison gained from the Black Moons, who even knows if even Ryu could have defeated him. We know the Avengers weren't going to do anything to him, seeing how he manhandled Nash, who could kick all their asses. It's going to be interesting to see AKI. She's certainly connected to FANG in some way, but since JP is the main villain... they must have some connection too. On a separate note, I keep thinking it might be cool if they reveal JP to be Ed and Falke's dad, or at least just Ed's. It would certainly be better than having him be just some labrat. You can still explain is growth to be because of experimentation. I feel like a Magneto/Quicksilver&Wanda dynamic between them could be cool.
  2. Fortnite is not a 30 year old franchise with iconic characters and lore engrained in the video game pop culture.
  3. What the fuck? Seriously? Three fucking guests? This is so fucking stupid. Just make a crossover game at this point. Why treat your franchise like this? The fact the general audience eats this shit up, on top of all the greedy pre-order crap and scummy way currency works in MK, is a travesty.
  4. Regarding the boobs thing, I always found it weird how in SF4 Juri had small boobs, but one of her profiles said she liked big boobs, and then in SFV they just done away with that and gave her a "buff" in the chest department. Maybe she got implants?
  5. This comic is very cool. They should've made this into an OVA like they did The Ties That Bind. JP's speech to Ken reminds me of Seth's one about power that he gave Ryu.
  6. The similarities between G and JP are too much for it to be mere coincidence. I think ultimately JP used a similar technique to G's absorbtion of the Earth's power to absorb Psycho Power for himself. Possibly from Ed or possibly simply from the corruption of the Earth itself following the Black Moon incident. How they are related remains to be seen. Maybe they are members of the same organization, whatever those Terra Nova guys are. I feel like there's some clues to them being the same person, but it feels unlikely due to the Q connection as well, since three playable characters being in the run for being the same person seems too far-fetched. Considering G styles himself President of the Earth, he has a space hideout, Rose predicts the destruction of the world and now this whole Nayshall ordeal with the Terra Nova guys... everything seems connected. Also, Gill's plan to get everyone on a remote island to save them from the prophecy's impending doom seems like a misrepresentation of what G/JP might be planning: exiling everyone in space while the Earth is destroyed. If they accept willingly they become the masked men and if they go rogue, Q-fy them. Also, Gill misrepresented the propechy to think that Bison was the one to bring about the end of the world and tried to hurry up the process a little to make himself the saviour, but in truth, judging from Oro and Rose's stories in SFV it is "Bison's shadow" that will bring about the ultimate destruction. And what is this shadow? Psycho Power! That still exists even after Bison's defeat in the Neo-Shadaloo guys. The perfect source for someone with a power harnessing ability like G (and JP?) to steal it from, especially since Ed and Falke are too weak to use it. The two might even give it, or at least a harmful excess of it, up willingly, to escape the Bison nightmares. Which is why there might be a connection between Ed and JP hinted at based on the owl symbol.
  7. I know it's Mortal Kombat and all but man, they're really uping the gore even more. I have nothing against it, but I really wish they would try to go back to the more simple fatalities of the first 4 games. Quick and to the point always felt better. It would take creativity to actually make the simple finishing moves more grand and cinematic. Kano ripping a heart out bare handed or Sub-Zero ripping a spine straight out always felt more visceral than all this goofy shit. You can do goofy stuff in Story Mode, but of course, in story mode all characters are portrayed as these conflicted individuals who are struggling between good and evil... then next thing Johnny is blowing up a hole in his daughter's chest. Like, either have the good guys be good guys, or go ham with it. It's not like between hordes of monsters and demons invading your home they don't have an excuse to blow off some limbs with they martial arts magic powers. Also, good remider that the original MK movie was great, is a beloved classic and that had 0 gore in it, so the idea that MK wouldn't work if they toned that shit down is assinine. But of course, the easy sell is to up the ante... To have such a cool cast and do nothing cool with it for a decade, except come up with new flashy ways to off eachother while the story has gone to shit is criminal. Lo and behold, Liu Kang will probably turn evil again, Injustice Superman style, crapping all over the little good that came out of the shitshow that was MK11.
  8. Deep Fake Ken's hair reminds of SFV Battle Outift Ken's hairstyle. At least that's what I think they were going for.
  9. Well, I gave my shot at a Street Fighter canon tier list, since it was a pretty slow day at work and I had some time to pull it off. Some general rules: - The tiers are not strict hardlines. A fighter being below one tier, doesn't mean he's completely hopeless against higher tiers. - I say that a character from one tier can give a good fight to another character one tier above. The same character would be able to stand-up to someone two-tiers above, but they'd have a very hard time. Three tiers difference is game over. For example: Sakura could give a good fight to Laura. She could also be able to stand up to Chun-Li. However, Rose beats her any time. - Characters inside a tier are ordered left to right but many differences are minor. When comparing tiers, the further right you are, the harder match you'd have against a higher tier. For example: Elena is the same tier as Poison, but she'd give Laura a harder match than Poison would. - What separates the tiers is the power of the bosses. For example if someone is able to take Barlog on their own in a one-on-one he goes into that tier. If a boss could handle two characters at once, the two are automatically one tier below, since they can't give the boss an even match. Now, let's get into specifics: Jobber Tier : Sean is shown losing to nobodies, so he's the weakest of the bunch. Dan, for all the jokes at his expence, is only ever shown weaker than other Street Fighters. I place Rufus above since he's at least a contender to the American fighting tournament, which is popoulated by people like Ken and Nash, so he must be a bit more competent than Dan. He also learned Martial Arts by himself, while Dan was actually trained by Gouken and he's still weak. Street Fighter : Basically the Final Fight bosses and people who could defeat one on their own. These people are very close to those one tier above, but I see Barlog as above a FF boss and since he could take anyone of them I think this placement is fine. Heavenly King 1 : Anyone that can defeat Barlog single-handed. I think most of the SF2 classics go here. They'd beat Barlog but Vega would be a real struggle for them. Left to right placement is not really applicable here. All of these guys are pretty much equal. Heavenly King 2 : Anyone that could beat Vega. This is probably the one where it's the toughest to place them from left to right. I think Rashid and C.Viper are pretty much equal, both being secret agents using gadgets, so an argument could be made for any of these people moving left or right. However, if we judgde by who could actually defeat Vega the easiest, I think the tier makes sense. Viper fights slow, while Rashid is quick on his feet, so he's a better match to Vega than she is. Heavenly King 3 : anyone who could beat Sagat. FANG is his replacement, so they must be pretty much equal, though their styles are different. Q is a secret boss, so while we know nothing about him, there must be something to his name. Nash, Rose and Necalli could give a good fight to people like Bison and Ryu, so they must be at least here. Zangief is consistently shown as a powerhouse in all the games so I don't see him loseing to Vega and Barlog. Dudley is cleary outclasses Barlog, so he's up there as well. Kage gets beaten by Sagat, but Sagat struggles a bit, so it's fair to place him close to the end. And Twelve, while we know little of him, since he's Urien's assassin, I think he'd more or less be on par with Vega, however, since he can copy anyone's style, I give him a little edge. Mid Boss : these are people who, if they weren't outshined by the big bads, could probably beat anyone. I think Urien is equal to Seth and so below Bison. However, as Seth is a boss, he's above most of the rest of the cast. Heavenly King 1 : Whoever can defeat Bison. Noooot many people. Ryu for sure. Gouken would, since he's on par with Akuma and Gen would probably do decent, since he was on par with Akuma too. Prime Gen might actually be able to defeat him! High Boss: Akuma is consistently shown above everyone and whenever he puts a weaker show than usual, he always come back stronger. He also defeats post ASF Ryu, who beat Bison, so there's that. Gill is hard to say since we saw little of him, but he's clearly hiding his true power. S+++ : Oro is the master. He'd probably be able to beat Akuma as he is currently. Oni is juiced up Akuma, so it could go either way between them. I don't see Gill surviving Oni and so they go a bit higher.
  10. WoW! That's a nice surprise! This opens up a lot of possible encounters with many different NPC's. Reminds me of Deception's Konquest mode, but fleshed out.
  11. I don't mind "distractions" in the background. The Capcom Cup stages are all pretty good. But I really think what hurts modern day SF stages are the low quality background NPC's. Like, you have this highly detailed models fighting and behind them these human-shaped ballons. Sure, in the sprite based games the NPC's were also lower quality than the actual characters, but they felt more at home, like people on a painting. I think this is certainly a point that could be improved in the future. Just having some high quaility cardboard cut-outs might actually be preferable. Or at least have them be far in the background, not front and center where you can notice how bad they really look.
  12. 4 had some pretty nice stages, but it might not come trough because of the general engine they were using. Having no set stages for the characters didn't help either. V didn't either but you could tell they were coded to most of the cast. Put the 4 stages into sprite form and they'd be pretty great. Snowy Railway deserves a comeback. The Construction site too. If you count the X Tekken stages too, the Eclipse in Africa and Mad Gear Hideout are *chef's kiss*. From 5 I remembered the London stage. That was great too. But we all know, if classic stages are an option, they need the 2nd Impact ones. They would fit 6's aestethics perfectly!
  13. Most of V's original stages are kinda crap. New Zealand at night is probably the safest choice. I think Brazil would be my pick, tho. That was a beautiful looking stage. As for costumes, Ken's SFV one for completion's sake. Guile's SFV main too, tho maybe with the sleves only rolled up to his elbows. Blanka-chan is an obvious one 😂 and THE GIEF!
  14. I hope Sean comes up down the line. He, Luke and Jaime would make a nice trio of new gen, international warriors. Especially if the story focuses so much on Ken, it only makes sense he show up at some point. I think he'd make a good partner for Kimberly too, considering her uncle was working for Ken. His gameplay is already different than a regular shoto, so he wouldn't be a clone and with a good modern redesign, he can surely work in 6.
  15. They really dropped the ball with Luke's introduction in SFV. From what we've seen of him in SFVI he's a very cool character, but he'll always have the Logan Paul/douchebag stigma based on his first appearance.
  16. Capcom should pay royalties to @DarthEnderX, since Ken hosting a tournament has been his idea for a post SF3 story for a decade 😂
  17. Interesting story. I quite enjoyed it. I especially like that it ties all the characters together. New characters like Luke and JP have good reasons to just come out of nowhere. Hopefully it doesn't get too convoluted tho. This type of terrorist stories then to get into very muddy waters in anime.
  18. They should've had this be his Round 1 design in the Arcade Mode and after he goes "Now show me what you're really made off" he pulls out the Tanden Engine and gets naked in Rounds 2 and 3, while also going ham on your ass. Guess the engine didn't support it though, cause he never got this even as an alternate.
  19. Just caught up with the latest showcase. Man, I'm so happy they combined Character Stories and Arcade Mode. Hopefully there's more to it than just Prologues and Endings. Also, the fact you can chat with characters in World Tour, give gifts to your masters and stuff means it's surely going to be full of easter eggs and lore tidbits. So which one of you fellows gonna go ham to find and compile them all? Cause you bet no one's crazy enough outside this thread to do it 😂 Also, special events and collab items? It's so nice that they realized people would use the character creator to create other franchise characters and they're leaning into it, not trying to avoid it. Hopefully no guests tho 😬
  20. So, after making this joking comment, I realized since I have little time and other priorities at the moment, I'm not picking back up this "project" anytime soon, so I might as well share the outline. Here it is: STREET FIGHTER TV EDITION, Season 1 - Warrior Dreams, roughly covering the Street Fighter 1 and Alpha 1/2 eras of the games. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1H61Vff9llG6lq0bGTMOjwplzZL_9nnIO/edit?usp=share_link&ouid=101940822052623815862&rtpof=true&sd=true The first page is a quick summary of the the entire story, which I wrote so I have the general idea of where to start and where I want to end on, but if you actually want to read my little fan-fic, I recommend you skip it entirely and read the thing episode by episode, cause there are a few twists and turns spread throughout and the surprise factor is worth it. Hope you enjoy!
  21. Looks fun. The general audience are going to think this is a rip off of Tom Holland's Spidey, though lol Especially since the MCU already gave Spider-Man all those same powers in Infinity War and Endgame, with the Iron Suit.
  22. They really released a trailer including a terrorist attack in Russia the same day as an actual terrorist attack? lol Will probably suck, though, much like everything post-Endgame. Makes me sad for Sam Jackson, but once the origin of his missing eye being a space kitty... yeah, he was fucked.
  23. These Arika guys are crazy. I really wonder what they'd be able to pull off with an actual budget.
