  1. Yeah, but why? What's the point (besides curiosity)? I can understand the "M" pool though. AASFZ3 mentions that the "M" for the dictator is actually Mister instead of Mike. He was called Mr. Bison in a lot of places. That changed when Cammy called him Master in Alpha 3 and Zoltar called him like that in SF2V. I'm pretty sure there will be an option to toggle between the jp and the overseas names. I think that SF4 had it. On a side note, it seems that the artbook from the Mad Gear Box Edition will be in english. That's what it's shown even in the jp site and/or panel.
  2. Well, he was still called Gouki in the japanese version of SFV and Tekken 7. I'm pretty sure that was from the "Assassin's Fist" plot. Wasn't it? Sheer curiosity. They know that the overseas market is bigger than the jp one. So they know that most players will either call them "boxer" or "dictator" or their overseas names than the jp ones.
  3. Lol! I hardly think they'll change the names or even unify them. Just... relax. You'll then hear "My Lord Vegaaaaaaaa!" 🤣
  4. The timeline in the new book is just a (slightly) modified version of the one presented in SF:Beyond the World. Pictures and tranlation by @Scotia. Thanks man! Another wasted oportunity to fix some things.... And, as always, Nakayama and Matsumoto are REALLY dodgy about SF2 events... they even removed the entry mentioning that Vega wanted Ryu's body. And... once more... SFZ3 and SF2 are two separate events with the Psycho Drive being destroyed during it's events 3 years prior SF2. Also, Ryu defeats Sagat with a regular Shoryuken.
  5. Luke is 11 when Robert (at the age of 51) died: Again, it's pointless trying to track down Luke's age at the moment. He's said to be 22, but WHEN? SF5? SF6? I think Mel and the Nayshall incident might solve this if Capcom gives us his age OR the time gap between Shadow Falls (or 3rd Strike) and the main events of SF6 (bearing in mind that, just like SF5, SF6 could also have a "stretchy" timeline). Oh, and SF2 is now officially set in 1991. I'm pretty sure soon Capcom will drop the events year and will just give us the timespan between the game's main events...
  6. A little bit late but.... MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! Hope you have enjoyed the holiday with your loved ones. Actually... I have another interpretation of Kage story. Sagat, Gouki and Ryu fought him. He even managed to defeat them, they were inflicted some damage (Ryu is even holding his belly as if being pretty tired). Gouki didn't seem to be meditating, the same after the battle with Sagat and Ryu... I believe Kage is more like a Freddy Krueger. Freddy met the ones he haunted in the dream world, however, he could physically harm (and kill) them. Even though an "spiritual" being, he still can affect people in the real world (like Ryu smelling Kage's blood). That's why Kage's winning quote to almost the whole roster revolves around dying. According to what he say about him being inside Gouki and keeping his own Kage at bay (meaning that the Kages might communicate between themselves), Gouki's Kage already "appeared" in the japanese version of SSF2X and was defeated by Gouki (when you finish the game against Gouki instead of Vega). So I do believe that Kage actualy becomes tangible, being able to fight with its "owner". But of course that the fighter should be "receptive" for that. Think about an meditative state with an "opened" pineal gland. As long as it's open, the fighter is able to meet/fight it's Kage even in the physical plane. Of course that only endures for a small portion of time. Come to think about it, even the part of Kage disappearing after learning that Ryu doesn't fear him anymore, resembles a lot how Nancy defeated him on the first Nightmare on Elm Street.
  7. Only if Capcom provide Mel's exact age in SF6 like they did with him in SF3 NG/2I. Appearances can always be deceiving. Even Mel's in 5 is weird... He looks like 2 yo (his age) in Ken's story mode and around 3 or 4 in Shadow Falls. Secondary characters appearance aren't good to measure how much time have passed. Take Datta and Chris/Amy for an example. I guess Li-Fen in Shadow Falls is actually younger than that. In Shadaloo CRI she's 125cm... that would place her at around 6-7 years old.... Unless she's really tiny. Kage is actually a manifestation of SNH, without a body. Just like with Psycho Power, Capcom decided to make SNH mundane and any fighter that devotes his life only to fighting can "awaken" SNH and manifest their own Kage (Shadow). That became clear in SF5 Sagat's story mode. That was probably Nakayama dodging a bullet about Luke info. He's in the game. His story fits without conflicting others. It tells his origin. There's no reason for it to not being canon. Unless there's something else for him regarding that in SF6. Which doesn't seem to be the case since one of the pictures in his panel is of him training EXACTLY like in SFV. There could be also a possibility that panel not having anything to do with the SF6 story. The beer is an interesting detail... the thing is that we doesn't know how much time have passed since his Luke's (specifically) SF5 story and SF6. Nakayama mentioned that the stories in SF5 can go past SF3. Luke could be one of them. Maybe the time gap of his encounter with Guile up to his story in SF6 is only an year. THAT should have been the photograph that Helen/Kolin could have given to Nash in Shadow Falls. Tracking down the origin (or first time puiblished) of SF art back in the 90's is kinda complicated. This artwork came from a set of 4 (as far as I know) pictures: -Guile and (bad teeth) Nash; -A crying Blanka hugging his mother Samantha; -Ken and Eliza getting married; -A kid Chun-Li with her (blurry face) father. The compilation artbooks mention these 4 artworks coming from Hadoken no Nazo (Mysteries of the Hadoken) book. But I'm pretty sure that in the (really) old thread, it was mentioned that those were first published on a Super Famicon VG magazine. Even those books sometime publish wrong info. The SSF2Turbo full body artwork that we know was first published on Gamest SSF2 special in 1993. Capcom NEVER mentioned that. Just like the Cammy sketches being for SFZ3, when in fact they were meant for X-Men VS Street Fighter.
  8. So it seems Luke is 22 yo in SF6. Or... at least he was meant to be before his appearance in SFV.
  9. Our fear is that JP is gonna be another prime field that went on his own after one of Shadaloo's falls. We hope he's either Vega/Bison's master (very unlikely, but... who knows. He might know body swap as well), or one of the 2 students that learned Psycho Power before Vega... Thing is, he knows about Vega wanting a perfect host, so he isn't someone that barely knows him. Main problem is that Rose isn't part of the initial roster, and she should be a part of JP's story for being another Psycho Power (Soul Power user). Even if she or Vega becomes playable characters in the future, Capcom might not update the story with her part (just like they did with Zero 3, IV and V with the subsequent updates).
  10. Me too! I just hope it isn't all the in-game art in print format.... Even in "Capcom Head-to-head" and "SF Beyond the World", I noticed that the newer characters (like Falke) had less character designs released than the old ones... Dunno if that was on purpose... I really hope they release the Kiki artwork that was on that exposition and that we never saw online (like an artwork of SFZ Vega/Bison, an artwork of a shirtless Ken and that panel with all the characters up to S3).
  11. It seems that a new book is coming our way! Street Fighter V Complete File (working title) "The monumental fighting game "Street Fighter" series celebrates its 35th anniversary, and the latest series 'Street Fighter V' is completed. As a 35th anniversary publication, this book archives the history of the 'SFV' series, including setting materials, visuals, developer interviews, etc. In addition, valuable materials for 'SFVI', which is scheduled to be released in 2023, will be released in advance! A must-have collector's item for users." Release date: February 22nd, 2023 (my birthday!) https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/4575317799/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_0RPXDQ014GYRB9YPDCJD_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Didn't Sagat found Willa Maiou when he was a kid?
  12. Interesting, they confirm (without actually confirming it) that Ken DOES dye his hair after all. Interesting interview, a pity he focuses too much on Ryu and Ken...
  13. The New Challengers's age is something... complicated. Even with their birthyears revealed. Cammy was set to be 19 in SF2 and 16 in SFZ3. However... that was when SF2 was set back in 1993 (at the time, All About Capcom stated that there was a 6 year gap between Ryu scarring Sagat and SF2). Also, back in october 2009, when Dee Jay and T. Hawk's profile were up in Capcom of Japan website, they were listed as 29 and 35 yo. This would set SF4 in 1994. Later updates would remove their ages, and Mel's birthdate (February 8 ) would place the SF4 tournament on late january/ VERY early february 1994, since he's 3 yo in 1997 during SF3. But in SF Beyond the World book timeline.... It sets SF2 in 1991. Which bring us to the question if the New Challengers still have the same age in SF2 OR the same birthyear. For instance, Cammy was born in 1974 and was 19 when SF2 was set in 1993.... however, either she is still 19 in SF2, but now she was born in 1972, OR she's was still born in 1974 and is now 17 in SF2... and 14 in SFZ3 when the Psycho Drive was destroyed, which happens around 1 year after Ryu's fight with Sagat, 1988. I think it's the former, so now Hawk was born in 1957 instead of 1959, Dee Jay was born in 1963 instead of 1965 and Fei Long in 1967 instead of 1969. Or that could have affected only Cammy, with the other 3 being left out of this change... While on the THawk subject, here''s 2 fun facts about him in SFZ3: 1: In almost all console versions, Hawk's backward walking is his forward walking in reverse... the only exception was the Sega Saturn. There, his backward walking gets a different animation with him making an "X" with his arms in front of his body: 2: In his ending, almost all versions have his picture of him holding Juli with an "fade in" effect. This don't allow us to see the bottom of the picture. However, in SF Alpha Anthology for PS2, for some reason, the "fade in" effect is absent:
  14. Well, that can't be true. For the last 20 years I've been hearing this, that Hawk was meant to rescue Noembelu but they ran out of time and put Juli instead... However, as far as I'm concerned, Capcom NEVER, EVER stated this in any shape or form. Is there any interview, profile, anything mentioning this? I'm not saying something like "ow, c'mon, Noembelu is the mexican Doll with a feather on her bandana after all". I mean something concrete by the game producers/developers. What I remember, was an interview with the Dolls creators, Kimo-Kimo/Jinzin (Takenori Kimoto) and Eri-N/N /E-Nakamura (Eri Nakamura) when Decapre was released back in 2014. In the interview, they mentioned that a Final Fight-style minigame was meant to be for the console versions of SFZ3. However, they scraped the idea and decided to create characters related to Shadaloo. When they exposed their idea to the producers, they were warned that the arcade ROM was almost full. So they went to the easier route and decided to use head swaps on Cammy, who was debuting in the Zero saga as a member of Shadaloo (so it seems that only Mike Bison/Balrog was meant to be a secret character). Initially, they wanted Enero to be playable, but her head (mainly her hair) would occupy too many tiles in the memory. So that's when Juni and Juli came to be playable. Eight other Dolls would make a cameo in the intro VS Juni & Juli, with the exception of Enero (and Jianyu, for unknown reasons). Enero's tiles were drawn, but never made the arcade ROM (doesn't explain why they didn't add it to the console versions though). Enero's tiles were first seen during Decapre's trailer. So the reason why the console characters didn't made the arcade version, the endings being more sprite-scripted, and the reason Juni, Juli and Mike Bison shares Vega's story, is due to CPS2 memory restraints than time related. The complete arcade version of SFZ3 was released for the NAOMI board as SFZ3 Upper (although the story intro screen lacks all forms of info like Height, Weight, etc). When Capcom (don't know who) did Hawk's story in Z3, Juli was already a established character (She, alongside with Juni share an account in AASFZ3). so they just tied his story with Juli. They NEVER mentioned anything about Noembelu, although his intro mentions that several people were disappearing from his village, Noembelu could have been one of them , but nothing was ever confirmed. So I really would like to know where that came from.... It seems something created from the fans minds... From All About Capcom/Street Fighter "Vega Elite Guard (organization) SFZ3 Vega's personal guard is made up of elements chosen from among Shadaloo's reinforcement soldiers. They have been brainwashed and strengthened with drugs and, after undergoing rigorous training, mechanically obey Vega. The components of this guard are all girls ranging in age from 10 to 20. The uniform worn – unique pieces of leotards, skin tight to the body – is perhaps of Vega's taste.... In all, the number of components gathered from various parts of the world is 12 (Enero, Février, Mars, Aprile, Satsuki , Juni, Juli, Santamu, Xiayu, Yanyu, Noenbelu, Decapre). The name of each is related to one of the twelve months of the year, from January to December. However, in the game, only 10 appear." Juli's Shadaloo CRI profile mentions that she's the second oldest of the Dolls. So she could be at least 19 when Shadaloo kidnapped her. Also, remember that the SFZ arc happened in the late 80's. It was still a common thing for tribes to marry their offsprings even if it was at a tender age. Hawk was the greatest Thunderfoot warrior, so it would be a honor for the girl/woman that would marry him. Maybe that was the case with Juli...
  15. Cool! Thanks! Actually, the same user created a new channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqCR7Vw0hYdQhWef6KDo9nw/videos Now there's even some Pocket Fighters translated quotes in the "bag". If you guys are ok with it, I'll ask for their permission to add these quotes translations to the guide. What do you guys think? (altough some of them already are on the SF Fandom). I also think I've seen that place before....🤔🤣
  16. This channel got some Capcom VS SNK 2 translations: When you have some time, could you please check the translation accuracy @Miðgarðsorm? Thanks in advance! The channel with the SFZ3 WQ went down a little after it was posted here....
  17. Allow me a minor correction. Both books are not "All About Capcom", but it's an edited version of it with only the Street Fighter stuff. Pretty sure that's were the colored shots from the encyclopedia came from. I really don't know why Capcom didn't update it for the 30th edition with SF4 and SF5 info.... Actually, that's what she did when rescuing Decapre in "A Shadow Falls" 😡😡 Don't worry. I shall have another oportunity... And I will NOT miss it!😈 And thanks for the kind words. Actually, I should be the one to thank you guys for keeping the interest on the SF story. Specially during times when there isn't much stuff going on, you guys always find something to keep the thread goin. I can't believe this have been going on since 1999 (give or take). I still remember following an story thread back in the old GameFaqs message board and finding Tiamat's SF plot FAQ, mainly focused on the Zero 3 plot. Soon after I found the storyline thread (not sure if it was Warrior's Fate at the time) on SRK. Soon after, "you know who" took over the guide and, for almost a decade, compiled and translated (AND mistranslated) a lot of the series story information. He even translated ALL the dialogues from SF1 to SSF4AE. Let's face it guys, if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't know where to find the info we needed even for re-translations, Then, there was "the purge" and @bakfromonstarted a guide from scratch translating most of the All About Capcom/Street Fighter encyclopedia section followed by @Miðgarðsorm with several translations, elucidative language explanations and almost real time CFN profile translations. A big THANK YOU FOR PLAYING to all of you!
  18. Yes! It's from All About Street Fighter Zero 3: It was from vanilla SF4 console version site. They posted a series of prologues that expands the in-game prologues. That's were Smart/Smalt Raven came from. Here is the link for the main prologues page: The beginning of Street Fighter IV / Side stories The one you're after is Prologue 12 - Guile. A pity the console exclusive characters (with exception of Cammy) and Seth weren't given their beginning stories. Would love to read Rose's... Glad I could help. Let's hope Capcom sheds some light on past events in SF6. But... I don't think that'll be the case.
  19. Vega/Bison and Guile met before the World Warrior tournament even back in the SF2 era... but it isn't clear if they fought. In Guile's SF2CE japanese account, it's said that when Guile arrived where Nash was, Nash was severely wounded and drawing it's last breaths. He mentions Vega who can freely manipulates the Psycho Power energy and dies. Guile investigates about Vega and discover he was a big guy on the underworld with his tentacles all over the planet. He gather several evidences about Vega killing Nash and sends him to court. However, the US was under Vega's influence, so was the court's jury. Vega easily had the tables turned and almost Guile was incriminated instead of him. That hit Guile hard psychologically who vowed to avenge his friend no matter the cost. After all that happened in the Zero era, i don't know if this still can be considered canon... That's why Guile's ending (in japanese) is him asking if he didn't remember him (with the international ending mentioning Cambodia), with Vega mentioning that he grew stronger and ask him to finish him off quickly (the SFC ending is curious. It gives the impression that Guile underwent through a deep transformation with Vega being surprised that he was Guile [even though he made the finals] and that he sharpened his techniques a lot). That could be a possibility, or that Guile improved a lot during the tournament. Yes. Until SFV, that was the obvious answer. However, now, Nash's Z2 death is the canon one. But it happens sometime AFTER the events of Z3, specially the Psycho Drive destruction (the Beyond the World timeline states this). Vega is in his SF2 body when Nash gets killed. Guile and Nash could've placed the explosives and left the base. That same timeline mentions that the Psycho Drive was destroyed through the fists of several fighters, without giving a clue of who (or how) could've destroyed it. The bits of information is that Mika and Zangief were there (however doing what is the main question). I think the Psycho Drive base had each sector destroyed by a group of fighters. Also we know that Karin and Vega crossed fists before, probably during this same event. RATS! I had the chance to personally ask Nakayama if that trailer is still part of the canon and I missed the opportunity. Profound sadness....😪 In Z3, how Chun-Li and Nash first met each other was depicted in AASFZ3 (the description I'll give is from the translation present on the old guide). Chun-Li goes to the Frankfort Hangar and pretents to be dating Nash to pass through the gate's guards. She show him aviation pictures and some pictures from some undamaged ruins... undamaged even after a war (probably it was the Nachappa Reclining Buddha Statue which houses the Psycho Drive canon. It's a different statue from Sagat's SF2 stage). Chun-Li suspects that's where Shadaloo's underground base is (later she would confirm her suspicious after defeating Birdie at her 5th stage mid-boss fight [in the japanese dialogue, Birdie SPECIFICALLY mentions to seize control of the Shadaloo underground base, while in the english dialogue he only mentions having business in Thailand...]). Since she can't make any action legally since Shadaloo controls the upper echelon of ICPO, she wants Nash to join her with mobile and gun power. She mentions an complete list of the jets and planes officially on that base, which makes Nash's jaw drop. However, he decides to show Chun-Li 4 english-made harriers that where bought illegally. One of Nash's superions, probably under the clutches of Shadaloo, wants him to be discharged and plans to frame him for keeping that illegally on an US base. So he decides to turn the tables and use the jets to fight against the evil organization. Chun-Li's japanese intro in Z3 only mentions her siding with Nash. However, she goes alone to battle. It's implied that she wanted Nash to fight Shadaloo while she would go by herself to fight Vega/Bison. SFV international dialogue makes us believe on that flashback that was the first time she met Guile and Nash. Nash says "Chun-Li, isn't it?" raising the question if they ever met before, while in the jp dialogue he goes straight "Agent Chun-Li, what brings you here?". Actually it isn't, but since Capcom never gave us an direct story, you have to place the pieces together and throw away Nash's death in Z3: -After reading the report of experiments with Psycho Power on Secret Point 48106, an member of an investigation team on Interpol against Shadaloo contacts Chun-Li who's on mission in Middle East (AASFZ3 Vega accont); -Chun-Li goes to Frankfort Hangar to side with Nash against Shadaloo (AASFZ3 Nash's account, SFZ3 Chun-Li intro); -Guile receives an order to bring Nash back (SFZ3 Guile's intro); -Guile and Chun-Li meet and she tries to stop Guile (SFZ3 Guile 5th stage mid-boss); -Chun-Li finds and fights with Balrog/Vega who mentions about Dorai (SFV Chun-Li story); -Guile finds Nash who is losing his cool about defeating and destroying Shadaloo and Vega. They fight, Nash loses and accepts Guile's help (SFV Nash's story, partially SFZ3 Guile's 9th stage mid-boss and ending); -Guile and Nash finds Chun-Li who is after Balrog/Vega. They fight against Shadaloo soldiers and Birdie (Birdie being fat here surely was a mistake since this is a flashback from the Zero era). Birdie gets defeated and spills the location of the Shadaloo Psycho Drive base (SFV Chun-Li Story, SFZ3 Chun-Li 5th stage mid-boss); -Chun-Li fights with Balrog/Vega, mentioning that they will meet again (SFV Chun-Li story, retcons SFZ2 Chun-Li ending); -Chun-Li, Guile and Nash heads to the Secret Point 48106. Through the fists of several fighters, the Psycho Drive is destroyed without Nash's sacrifice/death (various SFZ3 endings, Beyond the World timeline); -Still pursuing remnants of Shadaloo and not believing that Vega is dead, Nash finds Abel in a burning building. It isn't clear if he exploded the facility or Shadaloo auto-destroyed the place. Nash entrusts Abel to a friend mercenary (vanilla SF4 Abel's backstory); -Nash locates Vega and is betrayed by his own army. He gets shot from the back and falls from a waterfall, dying (SFZ2 Nash's ending, SFV Nash's and Vega's stories); -His body is found by the Secret Society and Helen/Kolin tries to resuscitate him, with no luck (SFV Nash's and Urien's stories); -Guile abandon his family, enters the World Warrior tournament hoping to find Vega and avenge his friend (SF2 story) -Nash is stated to be Missing In Action (MIA) and Guile decides to search for him alone (Beyond the World, vanila SF4 Chun-Li aftermath trailer, SF4 Guile's prologue); -Helen/Kolin asks Urien to use a Eleven in an last attempt to bring Nash to life (SFV Urien Story); -Nash sleeps while being watched by Helen/Kolin. Guile almost finds him when he fights with Kolin (SFV Kolin story); -Nash returns, reunites with the heroes and sacrifices himself in an attempt to weaken Vega by drainng his Psycho Power (SFV Shadow Falls) .
  20. Unline Ed, there's no information about Falke being kidnapped by Shadaloo, at least as far as I know. The few sources about it leads toward she being created from scratch, just like Abel and Cammy. Ed had some hints here and there about him being kidnapped. His April fool's story concerning Hado Stone, the way the text was written in japanese about him being raised in a lab instead of being created like in the overseas versionon his story mode. Visual Book 2 mentions him being experienced on with Vega/Bison's DNA. Falke seems to want a normal life with Ed (either as a brother or a love interest)... however, that doesn't seem to be Ed's (and Vega/Bison's) will. So she will follow him in the battlefield that's might come towards their way as a member of the Neo Shadaloo. Since Ed will be in SF6, there's a good chance Falke will be there too. in not playable, at least as a NPC.
  21. 8:51 Mike Bison/Balrog VS Chun-Li: Women don't need muscles! What I'd want from you is more meat on that bust! WOW! And I though his WQ to Cammy in Vanilla SF4 was somewhat heavy! Actually they were 4 for the arcade version and 8 in the home ports (the same 4 + another new set of 4). He also did one video with all characters WQ from 3rdStrike (although I think VS Gill WQs are missing): I'll ask him if I can add those to our guide (that i haven't touched since january, sigh). Giving him credit, of course.
