  1. If you haven't seen it yet, Dhalsim's perfect parry animation is absolutely top tier.
  2. I hate you PC people. https://www.nexusmods.com/streetfighter6/mods/25?tab=files
  3. How did you get s many so fast? I just got to 1000 earlier this morning and used them to buy a single colour.
  4. Someone mentioned meter management and I agree, it's very unorthodox and I have yet to find a good balance. I usually end up using a lot of EX moves, meaning I'm often very close to burnout and basically guaranteed burnout at least once per match. But on the other hand I noticed I'm almost permanently at Level 3 for the Super Gauge with no idea how to use it. Arguably this might be a Manon problem because her Supers are oddly situational and her non-EX moves not that good – I might play someone else for a bit just to see if I instinctively use the meter differently then.
  5. I'd say restraint and patience rather than brainpower. You have to pick your openings carefully, but other than that she's pretty straightforward I think.
  6. It certainly leaves a significantly better first impression. Even though I enjoyed the early days of SFV there were still things that made me scratch my head from Day One, like the input lag, the bad AAs and the uneven V-Trigger strengths. 6 has none of these immediate red flags or faults that jump out of the screen, it's just fun to play and see what you can make of it. Whether people will still be positive about it in one, two or three years, nobody can say, but if you like fighting games there's really no reason to give this a miss right now.
  7. One thing I forgot to mention yesterday is that I was a bit flabbergasted when I realised that JP has a counter. This might have been known beforehand but I only noticed it by accident. So in addition to his nutty keepaway game and the three defensive system mechanics at his disposal, he can also use a counter which summons a bomb onto his enemy that works a bit like Bison's Trigger II in SFV (if I'm not mistaken). If that guy doesn't end up being Über S-Tier I'll never look at Cammy's butt ever again.
  8. I played against a Marisa earlier (had to call it quits when he started teabagging – it's Day -1, go fuck yourself) and I think she's the best pick if you want to get some easy wins on lower ranks. It's really hard to deal with her stuff if you're still in the learning period, a bit like how Sentinel was in the first week of MvC3. Unlike him I think she might stay viable as the game moves on but right she's definitely the easy-mode-for-online-wins top tier pick. Only seen one Ryu so far, oddly enough, and zero Lukes and Kimberleys. Cammy and Ken seem the early favourites.
  9. Did some JP trials now as well and I agree, he's completely nuts. Might end up being super top tier unless people find ways to consistently punish his stuff with Parry -> Drive Rush or something. I'm gong to stay away from him for the moment though, he's a tad too complex to learn while simultaneously getting comfortable with the overall game feel and mechanics. Plus I don't really like the double-down motion for his Seismo. Will get back to him in a month or two though as I think he fits my gameplay preferences the most, at the risk of never playing him at his full potential. Tried out Lil as well but she didn't really click with me. Not the biggest surprise as I never liked T. Hawk either. I will say though that she has one of the most satisfying SPD animations I've ever seen. Think I'll do a run through some Gief stuff before bed just because he looks kinda fun here. Marisa & some of the other interesting ones have to wait for tomorrow. Manon is the go-to for the moment though. She's a bit one-dimensional but really easy to pick up and it's funny seeing the opponent panic the higher your medals level goes (I did manage to play around 40 online matches already and bizarrely won all of them. Lots of newbies around).
  10. Alright, had to take a break. Not used to the Xbox controller and my thumb hurts. I was skeptical but I really like Manon. Whether she's main territory or not I don't know but I can see myself sticking with her at least as a secondary. I have absolutely no idea if I'd consider her good or not but that doesn't really matter at the moment anyway. One thing that surprised me is that her EX hit grab is invincible to everything but lows. Considering it charges her medal level on hit tat might be a good use of meter. The target combo with vacuum effect (f.HP -> HP) has a very generous cancel window, too, so even low-reaction people like me won't mess this up to often. I tried out Cammy as well, she's not as dry as she was in V, matter of fact I think she's kind of the Karin of this game where you can have good results while doing basic stuff but there's a big skill-ceiling there if you start using Drive Rush mid-combo and taking optimal routes with her charged heavy specials. Also, everything you do makes her butt jiggle like crazy and if you can't see the butt chances are her breasts are jumping in to make up for that. Just in case you wanted to know. The next two characters I'll try out after dinner are Lily and JP.
  11. Uh, got my copy today. Just finished Manon's trials, a bit trickier than SFV stuff but still miles easier than some of the SFIV combos. One thing I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is that there's a rental fighter feature, which allows you to spend a specific item to try out a DLC character for one hour. You receive one of those items for logging in for the first time, no idea how easy/hard it is to obtain more. From what I understand you can use that character in every game mode except in Battle Hub Tournaments. Anyway, that's the update from me, back to playing.
  12. Cool, there's even little animations when you go into the movelist on that page.
  13. Bit weird, I really love Manon's upper half in that costume but I think the lower half looks extremely dumb. I get the idea (model on top, ballet themed below) but boy it doesn't work for me at all. Edit: Marisa's has some great colours.
  14. Jesus Christ Cammy's classic outfit is all everyone could wish for and more. And they even put her Level 3 in the trailer for good measure. It's a bit hilarious looking back at that power point presentation that implied they were going to tone down the game. This turned out just as horny as SFV, but without the censorship.
  15. I doubt the battle pass is limited to the one-and-done game mode when the concurrent playerbase is what keeps games alive, and therefore the Battle Hub and online play. Really not fond of only hearing about this stuff now. Battle Passes are just the worst kind of FOMO garbage you could imagine having in a game and I strongly dislike Capcom including something like that in SF. I will hold final judgment until I see its contents but as a principle it's a bit shit and seeing how it's only being mentioned now shows that Capcom is aware of that as well.
  16. Maybe the wind just blew random sperm into Lily's mum, just like Darth Vader was fathered by midichlorians.
  17. "Street Fighter 6 is an ok game, it feels a bit more polished and dynamic than its predecessor ..." Tell me you never played SFV at launch without saying it.
  18. Definitely very easy to pull off by accident, too. But I expect this to be gone with the full release, Whatever Gold version they press on disc these days is (unfortunately) relatively far behind and immediately gets overwritten with a day one patch.
  19. Just finished that little SFV tournament which was held basically next doors. Was good fun, it was organised by a tightly knit group but not many of them had Rose experience so I managed to get second place (of only 15 overall mind, but still, rather happy with the result).
  20. Unless I completely missed it they haven't specified how costumes are unlocked and how they are tied into DLC, have they? My guess is this means you have to buy pretty much all of them and the currencies you earn through challenges (and presumably in WT) are only for Avatar accessories. Would love to be proven wrong though.
  21. Technically this new version is a mix between the two designs anyway because the original also would have had her inner thighs bare, which arguably looked pretty dumb.
  22. That's actually hilarious how they went and un-censored Juri's SF5 outfit. The end result in 5 didn't look bad per se, but it was the result of some really wonky back and forth behind the scenes that thankfully feels completely absent from this game. Which is ironic actually if you believe the reports that it got completely rebooted internally at one point.
  23. I would have taken any character from either Alpha or 3rd Strike instead of Luke and Ed to be honest.
  24. Finally, thanks for mentioning this, it was driving me a bit nuts as well.
