  1. I wonder if Miley will cover Achey Breaky Heart.
  2. Sometimes the extra instruments can add a lot though. For example, listen to Siamese Dream. Corgan overdubbed a fuck ton of guitar tracks to give it that compressed sound. He and Butch Vig submixed something like 12 guitar tracks down to stereo on analog tape. The result is a guitar sound that at that time no other album, at least not that I've heard, has come close to. But this is all on the production side of things. I've seen the Pumpkins a few times live and they were much more raw and sounded way less produced as a 4 piece, which I could appreciate.
  3. It is by far the most boring arrangements of those songs I have ever heard. I won't go see them. Mayer can't get out of the fucking pentatonic and it ruins all of those mixolydian jams Jerry used to lay down. Bobby sounds like he needs to be taken out behind the shed and put out of his misery. This whole Dead & Co garbage is a fucking cash grab. Tickets are at a minimum $80 for nose bleeds and I don't feel like paying that much money to take a nap. If you want to see where the natural evolution of that music is, check out Joe Ruso's Almost Dead.
  4. I think we're talking about rock and roll. And I'm not arguing that any number is better than another. I'm saying it depends on how well the band plays together more than the number of people. Look at Phish- it's unbelievable how only four dudes can fill MSG with so much sound, and it's because they are all incredible musicians who have borderline telepathic abilities when playing with each other.
  5. I mean, the Grateful Dead are one of my favorite bands of ALL TIME, and they had a full stage, including two drummers (except from '71 to '74 when Micky left and it was just Billy holding it down. Ironically, '73 and '74 are my favorite years as far as their exploration in improv jamming went. But I also really like '77 and '78 when Micky came back. Basically, all of the 70's were amazing, but were definitely separated by eras. Once Pigpen died in '73, Jerry took over as the de facto leader and things started to get a little bit more guitar-centric with him taking on more of a leading role then he was with Pigpen on keys. But Keith really changed the sound, too when he took over the keys- their jams started to really solidify. Don't get me wrong- the '60s and early 70's stuff is fucking epic too. Some of my favorite stuff is from that era, and Pigpen was much more than a piano player and vocalist- he was basically a hype man, too. But the change was noticeable when he died and was replaced, and the sound evolved and, in my opinion, peaked in the mid 70s. But that's more because Jerry peaked at that time. The one thing that I cant stand about the time Keith was with the band is that they let his fucking wife sing. She would just stand on stage for most of the song, and then during a jam sometimes she would wail like a fucking banshee and it sounded AWFUL.), but I think that comes down to musicianship rather than how many people are on stage.
  6. I've heard some pretty killer trios before. Medeski Martin & Wood are fucking sick live- I recently heard they're working on a new album too. When Maynard isn't singing it's just the three of them jamming. When I saw them live I was blown away by the sound. Never a drop in energy. It helps that Danny is one of the greatest drummers on the planet, but still. I don't think it's a universal truth that the energy drops when there are less musicians. I think it depends more on the quality of musicianship and the cohesion of the band.
  7. I don't dislike you, man. You just keep clogging up the forums with a bunch of weird fucking posts LOL. Settle down a bit 😂
  8. Enlightened dude shitposting on a form of fighting game nerds 🤣
  9. Fucking, got a bunch of leftover Starburst 2-packs from Halloween. Every goddamned one of them is either orange or yellow. Where the red and pink at 😠
  10. Those are all contributing reasons why I'm looking forward to getting my PS5. The state of the world is shit, and I like to turn to videogames to escape and relax for a while. That dude sounds like an entitled bitch who has easy access to the new consoles since he writes for a videogame website. Bet he'll be playing both day one.
  11. I like pineapple and ham on pizza occasionally. Even better when you throw jalapenos on it and make a Pearl Harbor pizza (japs over Hawaiian). But it's definitely not my favorite. Pepperoni and hatch chilies is bomb. With bacon. Bacon makes everything better.
  12. Nevada actually sent mail-in ballots to all eligible voting residents, whether they wanted to use them or not.
  13. I'm jealous! Dr. Mario is my favorite Smash character because he's so fucking cool, and I've dressed up as him for Halloween a few times. Pills and all.
  14. Edit: Just need Biden to win the NFC North 😆
  15. I saw a video once where someone tracked down some of the memes from the 2000s and 2010s to see where they are in life. That girl actually turned out to be really pretty, and happily married. And she took being a meme in stride it seems.
  16. Isn't egg-in-a-hole what an ovulating woman has going on?
  17. Would that then make them President by default? 😂
