My wife got up early with the baby and put on a movie from Disney+ in the living room. I swear to god I thought she was watching Star Wars because I heard Darth Vader. I got up thinking, "hell yeah, gonna watch some Star Wars with the fam!" Turns out it was actually Mufasa 😒

Only cards I ever collected were GPK. Still have about 500 or so of them in a shoebox in the garage.

I love SF4 😤 Beats the hell out of that trash SF5. My daughter is about 5 months old and she just cut her first two bottom teeth. She gets a little fussy, and she doesn't nap for very long, but she's sleeping 8 hrs straight every night so I can't complain. But man, babies take up all your time, LOL. I love every second of it, but it keeps me from posting on forums as much as I'd like to. Probably a good thing 😋

Long day in the field chasing missiles today so I missed out on a lot of stuff here and there. I think it's best for everyone's sanity to leave what happens in the SRK Election thread over there. This place is a breath of fresh air and I'd like to keep good relationships with everyone here, regardless of their political preferences. We don't need AOC with a dick in her mouth over here. SRK is on fire. It's sad but it's what it is. I'd rather not have that toxicity spill over to our new home.

T or C was named after a god damned radio show, LOL. They agreed to change it from Hot Springs, NM, in exchange for hosting a couple episodes there. It's a small town just off of 25, but it's got some great hot springs and can be an awesome place to take your wife for a weekend getaway. But the name is dumb as fuck.

Our fucking team is called Team8Trash 🤣 RE: fps vs graphics- I've always been in the camp that performance trumps graphic fidelity. Playing something that doesn't feel clunky and slow is much more enjoyable to me than looking pretty. I feel like we're past the point of diminishing returns when it comes to making games look better to sacrifice fps. This really became apparent a few years ago after playing Destiny 1 every night and then taking a break from it for DOOM 2016. After beating DOOM and gong back to Destiny it felt like I was moving under water at the shitty 30 fps, and it has been a big annoyance ever since. That's a big reason why I'm stoked to play the next Destiny expansion on PS5 at 60 fps. And to go a little further, playing RL at 144 fps on my new gaming laptop is fucking surreal. There's a real tangible difference in how the game feels at triple digits. I can't really put it to words what it is I'm experiencing when playing with that performance boost, but it's definitely real.

This was me. Except my mom would make us go out to the willow tree and pick our own switch. We'd bring it back and she'd make us go back out and get a bigger one lol. That was the real punishment, thinking about getting your ass whooped the entire time. It was pretty effective, and was definitely worse than getting hit with the switch. My mom pulled her punches.

I thought that was pretty obvious from the kittens in the beginning of the video and the fact that the lion never fully attacked the dude. Still scary as fuck! I wouldn't want to be in that situation.

Yeah, basalt is a volcanic rock, but so is rhyolite and andesite. Most of the metates I find are basalt though- I was just being specific is all. Metates were being used here where I live and work since at least AD 200, at the beginning of the Formative Period. And there might be evidence they were being used in the Late Archaic when agriculture began to have a bigger influence on lifestyle. That's cool they are still used in modern times- I actually didn't know that!

I frequently find and record the prehistoric version, called a mano and metate. They're most often made from vesicular basalt. Edit: actually, they're a little different. Metates are typically larger than motars, and manos can be large enough to use with two hands. I do find mortars and pestles as well, most often the mortars will be formed in bedrock and so are a permanent fixture of a site.
