  1. Yay, I still have an active account 👊 Holy shit, we have LOL reactions here!
  2. I'm enjoying the hell out of Octopath Traveler. When I first heard about the eight story format and lack of overarching narrative I was skeptical, but it turns out it's actually really awesome.
  3. I finished Chapter 1 for each character and now I'm going spend some time exploring and opening up the map. Loving it so far, and it gets better and better the more I play it.
  4. @Darc_Requiem you oughta see my post over on the other site in the Videogame thread regarding Octopath Traveler anagrams 😂😂🤣
  5. I went ahead and got Octopath Traveler today, but I haven't played it yet since I just started Hollow Knight this weekend. Hollow Knight is pretty fucking awesome so far, about 3 or 4 hours in.
  6. That game is definitely on my radar. I'm glad to see you like it. Reviews seem to be praising everything but the story, but I'm wondering if that's because there isn't any real plotline that connects the eight characters? That might not necessarily be so terrible if you're not expecting a FFVI campaign. I'll definitely be picking it up soon. I just started Hollow Knight last night and it's amaze balls.
  7. The first line of the finale pretty much sums up Westworld in a nutshell:
  8. Man, I kinda want to binge the whole Season 2 before the finale. Episode 9 was fucking crazy! I seriously think I like this show better than GoT, especially better than the last couple seasons of GoT. Westworld is up there as one of my favorite shows of all time.
  9. Yeah dude, excellent episode! Can't wait for Sunday!
  10. I don't think people really put as much emphasis on just how incredible Luke projecting himself at the end of TLJ actually is. Kylo asked Rey if she was the one connecting them the first time their minds were bridged- and that was when they could only just see each other and not their surroundings. Then he said no, the effort would kill her. Luke completely and physically manifested himself onto Crait from the Jedi Temple. I've never seen anything so incredible done with the force before. It was an awesome send off for the character I thought.
  11. It's been quiet in here lately. Shit's been going DOWN the last few episodes, especially yesterday. Gawd DAMN.
  12. Yeah dude! I did notice that. In regards to William:
  13. Yeah, holy shit, man. It answered a couple questions I had- specifically who Grace (I mistakenly called her Gale in an earlier post above) is and when the events took place in the Safari/Jungle/India Park. Do we need to use spoiler tags since the episode aired? If so, God damn, there are so many layers in this show. I'm still processing what I saw last night, and I'm thinking I might go back and rewatch them all at the halfway point in the season. Also:
  14. Hype for Episode 4 tonight!
  15. I go on average about 3 times a month. My wife and I like to watch movies in the theater, especially since I can order tix online and pick our seats, which are big recliners. Since I quit drinking I found I have a little more disposable income, and going to check out movies is a fun night out for me these days. We always hit up Walgreens on the way there for some snacks, but will get popcorn sometimes. Last week we watched A Quiet Place. There were probably five other couples in the theater and right during a silent part (which was pretty much the entire movie) a dude in the front row ripped a giant fart that echoed throughout the theater. We spent the next 10 minutes crying we were laughing so hard. But it was the kind of laugh where you have to hold it in because you don't want to make any more noise, especially for that particular movie. You know, the kind of laugh like when you're in class cracking up with a friend but you don't want the teacher to see you laughing or you'll get kicked out of class.
  16. That's what gave me pause-
  17. Season 2 is starting to ramp up. Episode 3 is definitely the strongest so far and it offers some good mysteries.
  18. My Switch is petty much tethered to my TV, too. The only time I take it off the dock is when I go on a trip. However, I am a huge Nintendo fan and love their exclusives. Zelda, Mario, Mari Kart, Donkey Kong Country, Metroid, Smash Bros, and now Bayonetta more than justify a purchase for me. You're right about the multi platform games though. I have DOOM for PS4 and even though it would be cool to have on the go for the times I use the Switch undocked, it's just better for PlayStation. In fact, when I do take my Switch on a trip I usually play indie games. Like right now I'm about to take a flight home and having Celeste on the plane is going to be dope. But yeah, if you're not into Nintendo games then there's probably not any reason to own a Switch.
  19. Ugh, I'm out of town for a conference until tomorrow so I can't pick up my copy of TLJ until Monday. Can't wait to watch it again!
  20. Just got Justice League on Ultra HD Blu-ray. Bout to watch that shite tonight! Just waiting on my pizza to get here.
  21. Yeah, that Giants game was pretty frustrating. I'm not saying Cousins is elite, but he offers a means for me to switch it up. For all we know, he may go to Minnesota and play like shit. Or it might be the change of scenery he needs to get to the next level. I'm just glad he didn't go to Cowboys, lol. When I told my buddy what I was doing about switching teams, he said he hoped Cousins went to the Browns, lol. I was hoping it was going to be AZ or Minnesota. I moved to New Mexico in 03 and there's no local team here to jump on. A lot of Cowboys, Cardinals, and Broncos fans, though. And Steelers fans of course, those fuckers are everywhere. My best friend here is from Minnesota and he's a huge Vikings fan, so that should make for some fun games to watch. If the Redskins ever figure their shit out (doubtful with Snyder) I may come back. I'll still keep an eye on them, but right now I'm all in on the Vikings with Cousins. Edit: I'm actually an alcoholic myself. Been sober for over five years though. I know how that shit works. I can't ever drink again, not a drop, or I lose everything I've worked hard for in my life. My job, my marriage, my freedom. I know how that shit goes, which is probably why I can emphathize with McCloughan. It's not an easy road.
  22. It's not just about Cousins, it's about how Snyder ruined a once-proud franchise. When the Redskins tagged Cousins last year about this time, and fired McCloughan (the guy who built the Seahawks SB team), that was the last straw for me. I made a decision that whoever Kirk played for this year was going to be my new team. This is after 30+ years of being a die hard Skins fan. I don't think we yet know the full potential of Cousins. He was able to break franchise records with mediocre Redskins teams, posting 4k yard seasons three years in a row. He's been living in the shadow of "what could have been" with RG3 who was anointed the Savior before he was even drafted. Kirk never got a fair shake at competing from the get go, and he was never Snyder or Allen's, or even Gruden's guy. The front office smeared him (remember Allen calling him Kurt) and Gruden placed blame on him for going 7 and 9, after losing games like the Saints last season after Kirk put up 30+ points and the defense managed to let Brees march down the field three times in a minute and a half. Fuck the Redskins. None of those front office guys have any accountability and they'll be stuck in perpetual mediocracy as long as Snyder owns them. I'm looking forward to what Cousins might be capable of with a good team that actually wants him there and wants to win. Yeah, I'm taking a gamble for switching teams, but it is sincere. I love football, and I'm tired of rooting for bullshit. Not to mention Snyder also contributed to Trump's inauguration. Whatever politics, but fuck all that. Go Vikings!
