I thought the way it worked in special and the real bout games was the way to go. I always liked it even though it was janky and inconsistent. After 20 years it would be better for them to play it safe and avoid experimental mechanics

On the resident evil YouTube channel the current producer Takeuchi dropped a big bombshell regarding the development of RE7. He said that Capcom wanted to make it a live service game. Chasing live service made development into a disaster and Capcom's president stepped in to ask Takeuchi to take the reigns and get the project back on track. From there he removed all the bullshit. Capcom must still want to push this as that would explain why RE3 remake and village had those shitty free side games meant to bleed money out of players.
